Honestly...hard disagree. Hydroneer struck me as being roughly equivalent to one of those tech mods from Minecraft, one of the less in-depth ones at that. Only...it doesn't have the advantage of being attached to Minecraft's pre-existing gameplay, or being nestled into one of those huge modpacks that add intercompatibility and layers upon layers of engineering and optimization to do. Additionally, it doesn't really do anything with its systems aside from just making you attach pipes to everything. It doesn't really explore the possibilities of using water and steam power. There aren't any water wheels, or boilers, or steam engines. The pipes just act like power lines that occasionally need their current reinforced. As the game stands, I'd rank it somewhere between Satisfactory on a budget and a Minecraft FTB modpack. It's just...when you strip away Hydroneer's aesthetics and just leave the core systems, it doesn't really do anything unique with the genre, nor does it do anything particularly better than its competitors. Not to say the video isn't entertaining, but I think it's an overstatement to call Hydroneer sophisticated when there are so many more developed examples in the genre already. Nor is this meant in disrespect to you as a person, merely a difference in opinion.
@@alphajackal6648 I'm pretty sure @Yolad is commenting based on how the game first came out to what it is now. which is a huge difference. and while the game can be very simple, if you have the time and desire (and pc for it), you can make very large and complex mines and automation for those mines. Not to say the game is techy, but it has definitely evolved from the simple gold, iron, and shards that we started with. edit: I think its relative simplicity compared to other similar games is what makes it stand out too. If you want to go complex factory making with long logic belts and automation. play Factorio. if you want automation and exploration. play satisfactory. if you want an influx of information that'll take a month to understand and build, play modded tech Minecraft. but if you want a simple game that wont take too too long to get stuff done (if you play normally, not like RCE or Let's Game It Out) and is quite enjoyable and peaceful to play, then play Hydroneer. ALL great games. and ALL have their strong points. And their weak points. The point is to have fun! :)

So the "Real" civil engineer has let slip that his machine isn't very good once more... probably would be better to have all the resource endlessly stack into a single bar and then use one of those cutters to separate out exactly the amount needed.

For anyone who doesn't know about the "most reflections are fake" bit, the way reflections are handled in games is less a "mirror" and more like a glass wall showing you a completely reversed version of the environment you're in, except the reversed environment actually exists (as opposed to a mirror in real life) which is why mirrors and/or reflective surfaces are used sparingly.

I finally had a little room in my budget to get this game 😄 of course inspired by Josh and you, and gotta love how the devs play along with you guys. I managed to bury my furnace underground in the town in the tutorial, so there's still room for improvement 🙄 ... Anyway, it's great fun, although getting to the first levels of automation takes ages outside of creative mode. But I didn't get this game to be fast paced, rather the opposite... Just to relax with. But on my monitor night time gets really dark really quickly, that's kinda annoying because it forces me to rush during daytime anyway...
You can use any metal bar for the recipes, including scrap bars. I made an H9 scrap metal dagger after smelting the scrap cube I got when activating a tnt barrel :D A shame you can't make a magic sword, as you can't sell those...

Have the devs explained why the money system is the way it is? That's honestly why I don't play as much as I'd like to, I don't want to keep track of it as a physical item that I have to haul around especially now that there's different currencies. A regular inventory system that let's you carry more than one thing at a time or a regular money system that just keeps track of your money would completely change it for me.
Pretty sure dirt is dirt and if you point that wand at a conveyor it will spawn dirt chunks on the conveyor in the same way a shovel on a conveyor does. As it generates the dirt though you could essentially use it to make a minerless system by holding down the place dirt button. I wonder what quality the dirt is though like if you do as I suggested would you get surface level dirt or deep down dirt and would you get the higher level ores. If it does give you the good stuff then an autoclicker will give you loads of ore.
I'm not sure why RCE thought the issue was "too much corestone"... you've completed many other quests with extra (namely the soups). I saw immediately when he hammered the sword and it had a corestone blade and was expecting the result.
Ty for Posting How to get that scepter. This saved tons of time I can use on a different game. I think that farming doesn't fit in this game at all and if you have to do it to complete the kings quest, I'll just shove this game in the corner.
