Visited Blu Lacy Smokehouse in Castroville, TX. Our experience was neither here nor there. The brisket was the main character, but the turkey, chicken, and sausage weren’t the stars of the show. Honorable mentions we didn’t get: Dino ribs, pulled pork, hot gut, jalapeño cheese sausage, Marias beans, 1/3 choice of either turkey, sliced or chopped brisket sandwich.
The mac n cheese was pretty good, and the homemade pickles and freshly baked buns that were baked fresh on-site added a nice touch.
The spot offers outdoor seating, a walk-up bar, and a small toddler playground. There’s a nearby bakery for something sweet, but expect a wait if they’re busy, cause they only hold up to like four people inside. Share your thoughts if you’ve been! 🍖🌽
Plan on to spend some money here if you’re bringing your family. Family of 3 came to be a little over $100 with soft drinks added. They also have family meals ranging from $50 serving 2-5 people to $249 which serves 10-12 people.
