  • Cindy Crawford addresses Oprah Winfrey’s comments about her body in new docuseries after she first appeared on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ in 1986. A rep for Winfrey said, ‘Cindy Crawford appeared 10 times on the show since her initial appearance nearly 40 years ago in 1986, in addition to being a featured guest on ‘Oprah’s Master Class,’ which aired on OWN in 2013. ‘The Super Models’ is streaming now on Apple TV+.

Well, clearly Cindy is a liar and evil to attack Oprah like that. After seeing the video myself, I have no respect for Cindy Crawford. What Cindy said is not true at all she (Cindy) however was very mean-spirited & manipulative in regard to how the interview was conducted. Oprah was not at all offensive or treated Cindy like a piece of meat. Cindy was very talkative & enjoying the pleasant conversation. Shame. Unfortunately, Cindy is not aging gracefully. I guess in her old age “she” is desperate for some attention.

Cindy Crawford has no idea the damage she did to me. She was on the Oprah show one day and was putting makeup on some of the ladies her comment to them was you don't want to end up lookin like your high school cafeteria lady do you? Well I was on a school cafeteria lady and that broke my heart when she said that and it had stayed with me ever since so if I were you Cindy Crawford I wouldn't go around talkin about Oprah because you really messed with my mind

You can't compare the world today and the awareness we have now to 1986!
Plus, Cindy was a super model. She was in an industry that objectified women. She put herself in that place.
It would be a completely different story if the Oprah today said that.
Cindy can speak about not objectifying women today, but she needs to put this Oprah incident behind her.
They make sound like this was like a Harvey Weinstein incident.
This story itself is so "cringe," not Oprah. Who deserves to be held responsible for something that was said 40 years ago???

Victim culture is getting pretty sickening and pathetic. She went on Oprah 10 times and appeared on Oprah's Master Class. On the contrary, Oprah asked her many questions about her life in general, and her modeling etcetera. She was not treated as only something to be looked at. Her not speaking much could be attributed to her obvious and understandable timidness at this point in her life- not due to Oprah not giving her a chance to speak. What has the world come to when a young super model has a problem with a women that has millions of viewers asking to look at her. If Cindy was an engineer and Oprah asked to see her stand up then I would see her point. If you are a model and you are selling your look for a living then Cindy is the one that is wrong in this case. In fact if Oprah didn't show us her body Oprah would not have been doing her job correctly. I always hate it when models want to be known for their brains. Cindy kept trying to talk about school and nobody was there to hear about her smarts.
If Cindy thought even a single viewer was there to hear how she was "almost an engineer" she needs mental help. Cindy is at an age now where nobody will want to look at her anymore so the problem will be solved. I saw this interview when it aired back in 1986 and Oprah was pretty new to TV and was always going up and down with her weight. I never thought I'd come to Oprah's defense but she was complimenting Cindy or at least telling her she was lucky to be blessed to look as well as she does. There are plenty of nice people in the world that are overweight and people are rude to them or won't give them the time of day just because they are overweight. Back in 1986 people were MUCH thinner than they are today and it really was not acceptable to be way overweight. Times were different but this interview still holds up today. If a new super model came on the scene I would want the interviewer to show us her body and not talk about her school work even today.
Cindy was always way overrated to be honest. I never found her face to be model quality at all. I had grade school teachers that were far more attractive than Cindy but they probably didn't want to be gawked at so they did not become models. Almost everyone was thin and attractive in the 80's.

Cindy must need attention in 2023. Cindy's job and exact purpose of that job is exactly to look at her body and her physical appearance. It took her 40 years to gain a perspective that she doesnt have to be the sexiest person in room , how conveniant at age 70, come on cindy this is lame. And oprah's clip on body image illustrates people like Cindy fed that mindset to us by chosing her career and her own starvation and obsession with her body. Oprah's team took it down because it shows how materialistic and shallow the 80s and early 90s well as a mainstream society and Cindy is the one responsible. Sit down Cindy. Oprah stand up all the good work you do we see you for who you are and you are amazing.

We all have moments that we look back at in shame because of who we have become. Though we shouldn't judge ourselves. Also, In this moment Oprah might have been celebrating Cindy. Yet have been conditioned by social norms that when we look back at it was a reflection of Oprah's own insecurity. I’ve watched several online reports airing Cindy Crawford recent claim of being objectified by Oprah Winfrey…
As an avid fan of both the 90s Supermodels and Oprah Winfrey I feel it a little unfair, 37 years later for Ms Crawford to criticise Oprah about what seems a more complimentary interest about the makings of a possible future top model…
As models both female and male the job in hand entails being objectified to varying degrees not only generally from the general public but mainly by Clients, Casting agents and Editors looking for the most perfect representation for Fashion shows, Print/magazine or their Company brands…
Question; who wouldn’t want to be blessed with a beautiful face and body..?
So of course when we see or told this ‘person’ eg Ms Crawford in this case is classed as the ideal of those desired wishes then of course a level of objectification is going to play a part on how we view the likes of Ms Crawford…
I do think Oprahs choice of wording ‘Grooming’ could be open to criticism that said the word ‘Grooming’ holds a very different association more so nowadays.
Lastly, it would be wise to see the entire unedited interview before final judgements and criticisms are made.

    I do not understand this.
Modeling, body-building competitions, and pagent shows all exploit the physical body as an observed component.
Cindy Crawford made an informed decision to pursue modeling, from a young age and beyond, as a legit career. Now, is she mad Oprah asked her to stand up to show her beauty?
Society as a whole needs to look at what drives the beauty industry and have meaningful conversations that allow for reciprocity. Not talk badly of another person by suprise media commentary.
It feels like folks have stopped using critical thinking skills.
