Yeah, I always loved ramboing out with Paz as this epic music plays, shooting soldiers and hearing the chopper close in, putting Paz on the chopper, then shooting at enemies as I fly out in the chopper.
You can feel the darkness that surrounds the boss and the destruction he brings, be it facing tanks or squadrons of soldiers facing a one-man army. But you can also hear echoes of the hero he once was. One of my favourite tracks, made all the more intense as you sprint past enemy lines with a broken girl on your shoulders..

@@Dasistrite nah all of mgs 5 is venom snake having a near death experience as he lay defeated by solid snake. Even gz is just venom's memories transplanted into his subconscious during his coma. We aren't actually playing as big boss. Just like we weren't actually snake during the tanker chapter but Raiden in training.

The funniest thing is that the one who wrote this song was Ludwig Forsell, the same guy who wrote the songs for TPP. Harry Gregson-Williams composed the song that sounds when XOF destroys Mother Base but did not compose any ingame songs.

Holy shit. Nothing in the world could make you feel like a total badass extracting Paz to this theme blasting in the background. At first I was bummed out that I had caused the alert, but this theme going off when the absolute carnage of everyone trying to stop you made me feel so heroic. Got Paz extracted and it's a memory that has stuck with me after all these years, one I will never forget!
This is final boss worthy music. Just imagine this playing while fighting Sahelanthropus and XOF calling in for reinforcements panicked as all bloody Hell, while you're only backed up by Pequod and maybe Quiet.

Finally got S-rank on the Ground Zeroes mission today. I've never felt this good completing the mission. Then i get punched in the gut, like always, by the following cutscenes.
I am still so mad about the end of Ground Zero's. I played Peace Walker at various coffee shops recruiting for MSF on my PSP. I spent hours capturing tanks, apcs and helicopters. We built MSF. *I* built it. And they took it all away.
I was listening to this and thought "Shit. Gonna have to fight our way out!" Took 2 steps outside the admin building, Paz gets shot by a light tank. 10/10 In all seriousness, can TPP PLEASE COME OUT SOONER
Great stuff, this theme blew me away when I first heard it underneath a combat sequence. It makes you feel so powerful, your actions seem so meaningful with this behind it!
It honestly doesn't matter if i'm being sneaky for the rest of the mission, I am always determined to get this music to play to finish the level with a bit of action. Just did it now escaping the base in the truck, got to the furthest point near the LZ, jumped out, soldiers i'd knocked out had gotten back up and I was facing a barrier of marines, I dived to the ground blind firing and managed to knock them down or scatter them, running back to Paz I got her and began to sprint to Morpho! Behind me I could see bullets zipping past us and could hear the sounds of the APC trying to get as close to us as it could. Making one last effort I sprinted to the chopper and put us both on board and got the fuck out. Amazing.

Metal Gear Ground Zero had the best sound track. Much better then in TPP. Maybe its because you finally got to play as the legendary big boss for the last time. Still love this game, play it again from time to time. Wish they made GZ into a more full game.

@@sonicboom126 it doesn't matter if you recently finished the game. I always comeback from time to time to read some other comments (or to simply enjoy the music). Even when in pain or sadness, it feels reassuring knowing that you're not the only one at all.
I remember running to the helicopter with Paz after getting spotted by the soldiers. The tank was chasing after me.

I love this music so much! I fell in love with it first time listening to it! I played Ground Zeroes a bunch last year before Phantom Pain came out. Both were great games! This is one of my favorite Metal Gear songs ever! Did Harry Gregson-Williams compose both Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain?

Know I’m six years out, but Harry Gregson-Williams only made the tracks ‘She’s Rigged’ and ‘The Fall of Motherbase’ - but otherwise he had a mostly supervising role. Ludvig Forssell was an in-house composer at Kojima Productions and when he first joined the team, the basic concept of the soundtrack was already in place; the idea was to keep it a non-tonal, non-chordal and percussive score.
And since Kojima loved what Ludvig did with the opening track in ‘Ground Zeroes’, he was subsequently made the in-house lead composer. ‘Bloodstained Anthem’ was the first track he made entirely by himself.
He _is_ ridiculously talented and was also fortunate to have a couple of famous (Japanese) composers from previous MGS games as mentors, before he joined KP. It’s no wonder that he won an award for the musical score in Death Stranding either - where he had an even bigger role as sound director.
Ground Zeroes feels more of a MGS than The Phantom Pain does, too bad it's short
