Hi. Dennis Ranck, thank you for your video. This is your achievement installing a backup camera on your Toyota Tundra Truck. I bought mine back in 2003 but that time I didn't felt the backup camera important because backing up was not difficult in open spaces but in today's environment where everyone is in need of utilizing every bit of space.
Let me come to the point, please provide the backup camera name or product information so, I could purchase one to install on my 2003 Tundra on the same spot where you have installed it. Your video is helpful for me and it will benefit me and many others if we have the product information. By the way you can add the product details in the description anytime you want, it is still not to late.
    Thanks

Dior clarification, I used a uni bit to drill a large enough hole in the plastic of the handle.

when the tailgate closes the wire does not get pinched.

Hey, nice video on the wiring, but do you have one showing how you installed the camera into the handle? This video doesn’t clearly show the camera, thanks, id like to see that type of camera you started with and how it looks inside that handle.....

I remove the handle with a 10 mm nut driver. Then I drilled a hole big enough to accommodate the camera that I did get from Amazon. The camera that I did get from Amazon, I did have to pull it apart and flip it 180.

Hi, am using a license plate camera for mine which should have less issues with vibration. My question is ; how do you run the wire into the cab? Do you drill ? Was thinking of routing through the slide down rear glass but it may keep rubbing and ruin the cable. Could you please give me a heads up on how you did yours.

I apologize. I do not check my TH-cam videos very often, I do not get a lot of comments. I simply ran the wire through a grommet in the floorboard and up underneath the threshold on the driver side. From there I ran the wires that were needed up underneath the dash and grounded to a nut that was right there. And I used that same area to run the wires to the monitor.

Does it matter if the 18-4 wire is stranded or solid?

      Typically, no.

Thanks for the video. I purchased a backup kit that came with a 20ft video cable. I needed about 25 ft to run the length of my truck from the license plate to the radio. I will use your method and install the male RCA connectors I just ordered from Amazon.
