I really appreciate your videos. I started hiking when I moved to Arizona fifteen years ago. I don't get out much anymore and I am concerned about critters. It's ok when you find them in the video. Thanks for doing what you do.
What a super place with the rocks WW! Large rock outcroppings are favorites of mine as well and those rocks are great! Thanks Kindly for the Journey WW! And jerky? I've had deer jerky, beef jerky of course, turkey jerky and all well made but the beaver jerky I had once? Let's just say that my dog at that time wouldn't touch it. Now that's saying something when a dog won't touch jerky! I've also had some that tasted good but took several days to chew to the point of swallowing. Could have made shoe from the stuff. And then the jerky that ain't jerky enough. But variety is the spice of life it's said. Great trip indeed and many Thanks again! Rip Roaring Rocky Ridge Roaming WW! DaveyJO
My wife and I visited Hammond Rocks today. All of the graffiti has been cleaned off the rocks and its beautiful again. Amazing rock formations. Definitely a must see if you are near by. The fall colors are in peak up there right now.
There was a heavy duty ladder attached to the rocks there to get to the highest boulder in the 90's when I was up there, did not see it in your video. I guess they took it down for safety reasons. Thanks for the revisit!
Michaux is so far from me but you make me want to pack up and head for rustic campsite # 4! I'm sure it's not the only one, but it has nice rock formations. I climbed to the top of one and I was up in the tree tops, so beautiful.
When I was younger we used to go up there. At one time there was a metal ladder bolted into the top of the highest rock. You climbed up on another rock that was narrow and walked across to the ladder which then took you to the very top. Only made it the whole way up twice, it was scary high but the view was amazing. Then everyone started spray painting everything and smashing their beer bottles all over the ground. It looks like they actually cleaned up a ton of the glass and graffiti, it was worse. It's also not far from the spot of the Babes in the Woods.
Thanks for the fun ride in your jeep. Just amazing beautiful rocks. Incredible!! Wonderful mail, love your shirt. Hope you & John got what you needed moved. Thanks, see ya soon. 🥰
Looked like a beautiful day. Those rock outcrops were just beautiful. Loved the lizard I do loved reptiles. Those views were just awesome too. Thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe
Nice to see the community cleaned up this lovely place, fingers crossed it doesn't get vandalized again. My Mom is watching with me, and we are glad you got your mail.
I was here on Sunday. Did you notice, at the front of the first big set of rocks (The really tall one) there were some brick steps facing into the rock face, and farther up to the shorter rocks on the east side were the remains of some iron anchors. Thinking there must have been steps and a ladder system at one time to get up to the top of the peak.
I looked it up on Google and it says conglomerate Jennifer. Fascinating, since I know how conglomerate is normally made. Being up so high this is millions of years old and uplifted quite a bit.
You know something do you think that all those rocks there in one spot is from the glacier back in the dinasor time? Its amazing that so many trees grow in the rocks. Many thanks for sharing your mail. You are a great gye.
Wow! Awesome rocks with a gorgeous view...Imagine having a home there. Cliff on a cliff :) re: the sticks and licorices...you're welcome... THIS IS FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO THINK THEIR DESTRUCTIVE OUTDOOR PARTYING IS FUN TO DO! For all party people outdoors in areas like this...Plzz do not break bottles out in the wilderness or anyplace...WHY? My gal pal up in Vancouver, BC took her dog to the vet yesterday. Tino jumped down from a pile of rocks and landed on a shard of glass from a bottle. sliced thru the side of a paw pad to the cartilage. He had surgery yesterday and today on that. Poor furbaby. It may affect him permanantly. Depends how it heals. Cliff, That homemade jerky looks so yummy!
What is wrong with the young people in Pennsylvania? Im dead serious. Graffiti, and vandalism at these type of places has always been present to some extent, but in my travels about over the years it seems to be worse now than I can ever remember. I'm led to believe that the younger generation is so very respectful, concerned, and protective of the natural world- but it seems the opposite is true. I mean you literally cannot travel to any overlook, scenic spot, or unique formation in the state without evidence of destructive human behavior. So sad, so frustrating. As usual another excellent informative video, thankyou.
I couldn't agree more! It's not just the young people in (from) PA. Many times anymore, these places are exposed in social media and the scum come out in droves to party and trash the places! It's one of the pox of modern technology! ☹
WALTER ZOLNA It's so sad. My son is involved with a tourist RR & trust. They've had engines tagged & other rolling stock vandalized. All this rioting & looting going on makes me worried.
Hi Cliff, why do people think it's okay to litter and deface these beautiful locations. That said it really was a lovely place to go visit and those rocks were just huge. Thanks for sharing. xx
Hi Cliff . I have vol 1 and 2 of the Foxfire books if your interested in them i would like you to have them . Just let me know.. Love your vids . thanks
Cool place. I LOVE rock cities. One of my earliest memories of the woods is going out to some rocks with my Dad and brother to these big rocks around Black Moshannon. Then, we thought they had been destroyed (blasted into fill for building I80). Then we found them again thirty years later. Are these rocks near Poole Steeple? Also in Michaux. I have to get back down there again. Really nice place. Someone should write a book on rock cities of PA. There are a couple of books on the waterfalls of PA. Of course there are lots of books on hiking, but it would be cool to have a book just on rock cities. Maybe include some geological history of the rocks.
I'm sure I've been there before. I know the name well. But I don't remember anything on such a grand scale. I see you've been to Sunset Rocks in Michaux 3 years ago. That's nice too.
Beautiful horses, looks like a great place to ride and climb. You want Rattlers come to central Mo. Rattler city, they like sunny warm rocks. I would be interested in how that charger works, been looking at them. Have you had venison jerky,? Might not see but was hearing you.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 Thank you for clearing that up... 😬... been bothering me for sometime but didn't want to raise it... till I just couldn't no more! 🤭
Thanks for tour of the rock city. A few days ago I found a painted rock on a hike that said "You Rock!" Left it there for next person, hopefully a child to take home. I think I might paint a rock & leave it somewhere; it will say "Top Rock on one side & "Rock Bottom" on the other side! Yeah, I get it about it about vandalism; it's half thoughtfulness & half youth. Oh well. Another vloger I follow, Dana Hollister, who does a lot of treks in southern Utah (especially native American sites), recently had a video in the Bear Ears NM area of Utah that was damaged by vandals or pot hunters. That too was a shame. Anyway, Rock On!
I love rock or cave videos. Graffiti ....uggg... it's too bad there aren't any nature spirits around to smack the cans out of their hands and pinch them all the way down the hill. Can't blame the big guy or any other cryptid from social distancing, they're not afraid of catching anything, it's because the world has gone so crazy sanity is a crime. Even they're concerned about self-made zombies.
You are admired and loved by your fans

You're the kind of friend I need. Good dude... thanks for the videos
Stumbled across these yesterday. Awesome place!
They have done an amazing job in the last year cleaning the rocks

Incredible rock formations...so cool to see..Thanks for showing us Cliff😁👍
Great video. Rock formations look awesome. Thanks for sharing
You have been an inspiration to get out and enjoy Nature. We bought a State Park pass recently so we can hike.
I love that shirt! Lol! In the land of the giant rocks. ...these do look like sedimentary rocks, maybe sandstone or conglomerate.
I looked it up on Google and it says conglomerate Jennifer. Fascinating, since I know how conglomerate is normally made. Being up so high this is millions of years old and uplifted quite a bit.
Jim Dewey cool! Thanks for checking on that !
What an awesome place!! It reminds me of some of the places I have hikes to in Ma. Thanks for taking us along with you!! Be safe!
I am amazed at how many fantastic rock formations you have shown us in Pennsylvania. Thanks Cliff!
great video...check out Freds Woods Trail (I think Cameron/Elk county)off rt 120. rocks even larger there!
Hoping to get there someday.
We call those lizards "Blue Bellies " here in California!
Nice spot Cliff! I love areas like that.
Beautiful! Nice video! Thanks!
Very cool place!!!

No glaciers this far south.
Nice video! If I didn't know better I would have thought you were at Devils Den in Gettysburg!
What a place.....limestone or shale?
Very interesting tour, you come from a very beautiful part of your country.
hello Woodsman looking forward to Ghost Town videos. I think ghost towns are pretty cool places to go too. thank you for the videos stay safe.

Reptiles of Hammond Rocks- We have all 3 here in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, but I haven't seen any rattlesnakes myself yet. No rocks, though.

im going to have to put this on my places to explore this year

A fantastic video! Right from the beginning, I was riding along with you in the Jeep's shotgun seat!

Excuse me and I don't mean to be rude... but does that cap say "Old F@rt"?
Thank you nonetheless for the outdoor entertainment my friend.

@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 Thank you for clearing that up... 😬... been bothering me for sometime but didn't want to raise it... till I just couldn't no more! 🤭
This would be heaven to climb these amazing huge rocks.. I’d love to be a kid again barefooted climbing them..
Those are igneous rocks ? Volcano in Pennsylvania in millions years ago ? Or earth plate pushed up ?
Sedimentary
The reason the vandals use graffiti is that IF they get caught they rarely even get into trouble over it.
They need to be made to scrub it off with a toothbrush and goop paint remover!
When you going to visit Gettysburg?
I have been there many times..
