great work! I am having the same problem with my iMac 27 late 2014, the technician replaced the connector but the screen comes black again and sometimes the screen works. I wanted to ask you if (1) this could be for a bad replacement? And I want to purchase (2) the LVDS cable this comes with the connector? or I have to purchase separately?
I had a power surge, my 4K retina 2017 was dead, took the display off and noticed the last pin on the display connector on logic board was off the board, cracked solder perhaps. Problem is that I don’t see a pad to solder to. Have you worked on those models? Any ideas? The top diagnostic led (5 of them on this model) is not lit. But cannot find out what that top led is for, I’m guessing video connection

I have a iMac mid 2011 model display. The graphics card had gone defective, so i did not get the graphics card replacement anywhere so sold the parts to other iMac users. Now I want to use the iMac display to connect to another windows PC with HDMI, so I need to connect the HDMI output from my PC (windows) to the LVDS connector of the iMac display.is that possible? please advice.

Of course it could although there are other components, which also be the cause
Greetings from Denmark. I have a late 2012 (13.1) 21.5 LCD screen with a bad connector. (did some fault isolation with another lcd screen and cable) I tried ebay for finding the correct connector without luck. Are the connector on the logic board and the lcd screen the same? Or hvad partnumber do i have to look for?

I have an IMac Late 2013 - 21.5. After installing a SSD drive, I powered up and got a black screen. Only 3 LED lights were on and the 4th remained off. Also, I notice that the display connector on the logic board both sides were bent. The display cable won’t stay in the connector. I tried to careful unbend the ends with no such luck. The cable refuses to stay in the connector. Help!!!

Thanks for your video. I knocked my imac mid 2014 and the screen stopped working. I took for repair & got quoted £90 ($120) for replacement lvds cable. Does this seem right? Many thanks from Scotland
The cables themselves could be bought for less, but it depends if they are doing the work to open the computer and install it too. £90 sounds about right for a pcb connector replacement. I got quoted £60 for just desoldering the old connector and soldering the new one, with me supplying the replacement 4k connector and the screen already detached off the iMac. Another £60 if the PCB pads underneath were damaged when the connector got pulled off the PCB.

I was replacing the HD. I connected everything and was working fine, including screen. Then I accidentally pulled the cable from the screen side when taping it together.
I saw broken pins on connector and ordered a new one. When I installed new connector it didn't work. I was not sure what side of connector was the right one and could have connected it backwards (up side down on connectors. Tried all possible ways.) Could this damage board?
