It's me, I played PW and still haven't played 4. I was an Xbox 360 kid, so imagine the frustration of not being able to play the finale of the series, we exist 👋
me too. still havent played bloodborne for the same reason. I refuse to support sony doing this over and over, Im not buying a console to play 1 or 2 games.
Same I was a Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii guy back then. While I wasn’t able to play MGS4 I could enjoy to play as Solid Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Ps3 was also just too expensive back then 600 bucks because of that damn Blu Ray. You could get a Wii and 360 for that price which I did.
6:07 : “delta is the brand name for the remakes”…. Dude, no. Delta is a 3 sided triangle. The MGS3 remake is literally called “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.” All it is, is Konami’s way of showing, in the title, that this is the remake of MGS3. Not sure how you even missed this, but this is the third MGS game. 3. They replaced the 3 in the title with the symbol of delta to show its still MGS3, but the remade version, just without actually branding it “remake” in the title or having to use the actual word of “remake” in the title. This was a very simple, yet very clever way Konami updated the “3” in MGS3 with the symbol of “delta” to show the world that this is the remake for MGS3. If delta wasn’t a 3 sided triangle, then sure, the word “delta” could’ve been their brand they attach to any remade MGS titles, but in this instance, since delta means 3, no, it won’t describe the remakes moving forward. This will be the only time you see “delta” on any title card of any future MGS remake.
They stated the delta represents the three pillars of game design they used to guide them through remaking. Sure it can also represent the 3 in the title. But if it's successful enough to justify more remakes it is more than likely they will continue it as the "delta" series. Think a little deeper than just a title of a single game. Marketing is more important than a single fancy name
@@twopennygames no, not “sure, it can represent the 3 in the title”… it IS the 3 in the title. Konami have literally replaced the 3 with the delta symbol because it’s a more powerful way to show off it’s no longer the base version of MGS3. Also, you are purely speculating on delta being the “remake brand” whereas anyone with eyes can see what I’m saying is true. They’ve replaced the 3 in every piece of marketing with the delta symbol; so how are new fans supposed to know it’s MGS3? The delta symbol replacing the 3 is the proof beyond what I’m saying, that the 3 has morphed into a delta symbol to represent the same but changed game. Not only that…. what happens when they remake MGS1? That game doesn’t have a 1 in the title…. Do you honestly think Konami is now gonna name another MGS game “metal gear solid delta” again after MGS3’s re-release? Lastly, many marketing teams have used a one and done approach to things. Why is this clever change any different? Why are you dying on this “delta is the remake symbol” hill? It’s a very clever change from the 3 into a delta and that’s all! It’s not some magical thing beyond that. No one has ever indicated it’s the remake brand title, so idk why you’re not seeing it as just a clever change for this game only. Look, Konami seized on this idea just for this game and when years pass and the next MGS game launches, you’ll think back to how delta wasn’t the remake brand you thought it was. They just didn’t want to put “meta gear sold 3 remake: snake eater” as the title. That’s literally all it is.
In really simple terms, we have a 50/50 chance. On one hand, they realized their mistake on the tech issues Vol 1 has, and they seem to be taking their time with getting Delta and Vol 2 right and not rushed like at time, but on the other, this is Konami we're talking about, incompetency is essentially their middle name, so take it with a pretty big gain of salt.
I hope Konami delivers with volume 2. Konami seems to be on the ball right now they also just released the Castlevania Dominus collection. With all the Nintendo DS Castlevanias which everybody wanted. People were also wondering how they would get the Nintendo DS Castlevanias on modern consoles because of the features of Nintendo DS but Konami managed to do it. I’m sure they’ll figure out something with MGS4 on volume 2.
Also PS3s were quite expensive back then too. 600 bucks for a ps3 when you could get two consoles an Xbox 360 and a Nintendo Wii for that price. Which is what I did. I knew a lot of PlayStation 2 gamers switched to Xbox 360 because of the price of a ps3.
This is my first time listening to your podcast. Very much enjoyed it. MGS has been my fav franchise since MGS1. I even played acid 1 and 2. Currently playing through the series in timeline order for the first time. I really do hope Konami does a much better job with the second volume. If I may, I would also like to mention that you might want to tweak audio effects for the mics because they were peaking way too often. I have the same exact mic so I know its capabilities.
I wasn’t patient. Bought a PS3 just for MGS 4 (and a little bit for Demon’s Souls). Problem is I don’t want it to end so I just keep replaying the first two acts. The gameplay is rock solid and I hope Konami get a move on with some kind of port
I hope Portable Ops gets remastered as well, I doubt it will happen, but we'll see. They did put the Digital Graphic Novels & the NES Metal Gear games on Volume 1 so we'll see.
@twopennygames If Konami's smart, they'll do 3 volumes of the Master Collection, that way they can also have one where they put in games like the Acid games as well as Ghost Babel and titles such as that that are not canon but still worth checking out.

MGS4 made it to ps4 briefly before the Kojima drama. I remember playing it there for the first time. But they quickly took it off. I never had a ps3 so never finished mgs4 so I was disappointed. It was on PSNow
@@miguelrodriguez9908 so the problem is that mgs4 has never run natively on any platform other than PS3. PS Now was a streaming service, technically wasnt running on your PS4
Peace Walker sucked but it is a mainline game just like how Code Veronica is a mainline game to Resident Evil. I still have no idea how people Played MGSV and not played PW and could follow the story
Twin snakes is a layup. Plus, I've never played it, and I'm very curious about it.
Yeah. I think it would make money for people who haven’t played MGS at all. So many MGS1 snobs ruined The Twin Snakes
DELTA feels like the title of a collection

If they remake the other games8 think it should be named
mgs: alpha
mgs2: beta
mgs4: echo

Interesting idea but it may be confusing
