- Peter Saunders from England is a huge fan of all things dating back to the time when Queen Victoria ruled her empire. He has even created a home that is an authentic tribute to that period. We met up with one man who really is living the dream.
This has literally been my dream house for such a long time. I love anything from the Victorian era, or the Medieval times.
Autumn Falls same here, i am trying to live their lives, the best thing for me to do is going to europe in the future, many Franch, German or Italian place have the style ! or joining the armish in US but pretty impossible for me.

+Lynnek8 I agree!!!!!!!!! I had originally started viewing Victorian post mortem pictures, became fascinated with the style of the era, then branched out to all aspects, homes, clothes, customs. I've only scratched the surface & want to learn more.It can be a very ugly world today, this makes me happy

I never figure out why people _with_ money prefer Ikea/Scandinavian style furnishings instead of traditional decor.
heanley ots I agree. i find modern furniture looks too plain. old fashioned furniture is more solid and last longer.
heanley ots there could be many reasons. Maybe it's because those people "with" money doesn't have the same taste in furnishings like us. Some don't splurge on things like that. They put their minds and money elsewhere...

Oh Peter your home is truley wonderful i just love it keep up the good work. The I live in a 400 year old irish cottage and i love it i have filled with oil lamps and all antiques and just love it i also hide my tv like you lol dont mind having one just dont like to look at it. I even have Edwardian clothes and a corset lol and i use my victorian china everyday and bake all my own cakes and i cook on the fire with my griddle. The only piece missing in my home is a lovely cast iron range like yours i just love them have a cast iron multi fuel stove for heating which means my house runs on coal but only for heat would love a cooking range in my kitchen. Would love to have tea in your parlour its stunning and your shop is coming on great you should feel very proud of what you have done your house will love you forever i only wish more people were like you. You are truely an inspiration xo

enjoyed this very much I'm a vintage lifestyler as well approximately 1927. Everything in my house I try to keep between 1910 with 1939 as my cut off date. must be something we single guys just do who knows

I grew up in a Victorian terraced house (built in 1880) and it didn't have many remaining period features at all. In fact we converted the loft in 1997.
Would have been very interesting to see it in its heydey, apparently the previous owners took out the range in 1974.

Peter Saunders is not alone as many enjoy living in the Victorian era with all the posh and bits and bobs.
Its definitely the perfect home for friends and tea time. I for one would enjoy the company in this house very much. As so long nobody touched anything cuz I'd have to rip their hearts out but other than that it is very sweet house to enjoy being in.
,,,i really envy someone who could do anything he/she wants in their house,,,i have a contradicting mom & sis!,,,that's why i want to have a home of my own,,,someday!

peter, iv to tell you.. loved ur house.. and more its like always i feel im not fit in here, i mean me.. i all the time surf old sepia tone films and very old 1800, 1900 century things to think if i can time travel back.. people may laugh at me.. but looking at ur clip by surfing so so comforting..one little thing i want to tell you.. i always feel that im living in brick style home, less people, home with chimney, fresh bread and old milk bottle thicker one..big frock im wearing my hair tied up .., farm and deserted area.. i think of this and i feel so so comfy.. Im from India, im indian from mumbai.. im a tiny singer.. i practice etta jones, tony, ella fitzerald, nina simone..jean cally.. they all feel so near n true.. this is the first time im telling you outside my home and hubby.. He is a filmmaker.. new thing is that im making my homemade cupcakes and got a girl to sell door to door.. if you know indian money in Rupee.. my cupcake cost just rs 5.. its nothing...i get fed up with gadget.. i wish if i can time travel... may be in future ill visit you or will bake for you...nothing fancy but victorian sponge cake...nice meeting you....

First time warper I've seen that went back that far.
Don't blame him. Our house is 1850's cottage. We keep the living room Victorian themed but the rest of the house is a mix of modern and old .
My studio in the garden is a large wooden summer house, and I panelled it inside like an 18th century Hugenot house. And have original 18th century furniture and stuff in it.
It looks like the house I grew up in with my grandparents! I wish I appreciated all the antiques they had growing up, I used to hate that we were so old fashioned in the 90's, but they died and it all got sold 😯
If he is single, I would totally love to meet him.

In this time ,people live horrible , grey ,brown or black leather or vinyl sofas , horrible posters ,and a huge tv , and 24/7 celulars , but this young man choose to live in a nice way , it seems to have a firm personality , and he have what many men lack today ,Wich is manhood to make positive changes to improve their lives , actually men in this days are emasculated ,!! I admire this young man for his courage !!
Was that range/fireplace in the house already? I remember when I was a boy and my mother took me with her to visit an old lady who still had one. She also had one of those little beds in a recess in the wall, hidden behind a curtain. She shared the toilet with he next door neighbour. I’ve seen two homes with these cast iron ranges. There’s something very comforting and cosy about them. All I have is my Edwardian oil lamp lol.

i think victorian style is amazing for dollhouses decoration and for the outsides an exteriors, with the conservatory looks stunningly beautiful, but for a dialy basics looks kinda creepy to me....a little bit like granny´s house, but not the good granny, i mean like the evil and fanatic religious one, hahahha in my opinion, but i think looks interesting

I absolutely adore anything Victorian/Early Edwardian, but my husband dislikes it... i could live exactly the same way as Peter here, but without the TV... i never turn mine on anyways. I dislike it.
