I have a long-lasting internal conflict. I objectively know Gundam Seed is a terrible show, but for me personally, the soundtrack and music, the mecha design, and nostalgia make it my personal favorite anime of all time. When it comes to entertainment media, there is no such thing as objectively good or bad. The entire point of entertainment media is to make us connect with it by invoking emotions in it's audience. Sometimes it's not the emotions the creator intended you to feel. Regardless, we unconsciously judge works based on what they made us feel, then try to intellectually justify it afterwards, there is no objectivity involved. Even two people sitting next to each other in a theater with similar tastes might come out of a film with completely different impressions of it. You cannot have an truly objective opinion of a completely subjective personal experience. It's all just opinions in the end. Just enjoy what you enjoy and don't let anyone tell you what you like is terrible, because that's literally just their opinion. If you enjoyed it, then the work did its job.
Dont worry, I find it so many people around me agree that gundam seed is actually a good show, everything about it is good EXCEPT the story and development. strike series from seed still the on top 3 of my favorites, the OPs and EDs still retains in my memories. and surprisingly, that kind of impression occurs on so many other gundam series too

SEED is hands down one of the top gundam in the entire franchise. if not for seed, gundam would be dead. it not just revived the franchise, but it boosted it to become one of the 5 biggest in the world. as for song, Seed is famous for having some of the best songs in the entire franchise. and its still so popular that they release every year new stuff for it, sometimes more than even for the UC, or the current series.
