    Last year was full of changes for our family when it came to choosing what products we were using in our home as well as what we were using on our bodies. If you’ve read the blog for any amount of time, you know I made a pretty big jump from one skincare company over to Beautycounter. I knew that I wanted to make better decisions for myself and my family after really digging into ingredients lists. You can read about that switch here:
    thevanillatulip.com/2018/10/bi...
    If you’re like I was, it can feel a bit overwhelming as to where to start when it comes to cleaning up the ingredients in your home. I want to encourage you to just do ONE thing at a time. Don’t try to tackle it all at once.
    The easiest place to start is by swapping out your dryer sheets for wool dryer balls!

    Another thing that works is a sponge soaked in vinegar and water, mostly squeezed out. This softens your clothes and it takes out the clothespins marks….static free. I hang dry my laundry. I keep my sponge in a Tupperware container in a mix of vinegar and water. The vinegar does not leave a smell on your clothes. I hope this helps. 😊

    Made 3 balls from 210 length wool yarn from Joanns Fabric. Lots of fabric that says wool but only one brand at Joanns that is 100% wool. After making balls I put them in a mesh bra bag that zips with pencil eraser sized holes and put in wash with load of towels HE white cycle hot heavy soiled extra fast spin with extra rinse for total wash time 2 hrs. We have our large water heater turned all the way up so our house gets maximum hot water. One load was all it took for felting. A super duper large load of jeans ranging from 3t to 12 womens took 10 mins on low heat and yes no static cling. I am now a super fan of wool dryer balls. Oh the wool was $5.48 and i had a coupon so I only paid about $3 for 3 balls. Yay!!

      @@newlifeartworks3001 what do you mean? My clothes don't bleed. I follow laundry instructions on the tag. I also have separate wool balls for dog haired laundry like certain blankets and specific towels.

      I love that you mentioned the dog ones! I'm going to try this. Wish me luck I'm not crafty whatsoever but this seems simple enough. Thanks for sharing all your tips and I'll make sure to use a coupon as well. 😊🐾👖👕👗👚🧦🧶🪡

    Great tips! I would love to hear what you use for laundry and dishwasher detergent. Those are my 2 chemical products I just can't seem to find a good alternative for. Also I added in a set of the norwex silicone dryer balls with my wool ones and don't have an issue with static anymore.

      Its not loud like crazy.

    • @07wrxtr1
      @07wrxtr1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@monamarina127 someone needs to actually test noise levels with a mic, not these stupid personal testimonials. Many think their screaming kids at the grocery store are "not loud" so there's a WIDE spectrum of what one can consider noise or noise sensitive. It also depends on the dryer used and the quantity and density of items in the dryer. The big problem is that as divorces skyrocked, many people are now renting out rooms, and those rooms can be adjacent to the washer/dryer area. Many homeowners to landlords do laundry at either random times, frequent times, or into sleeping hours. SO. The idea of NOISE is a big issue with these.

    • @asuka3407
      @asuka3407 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@07wrxtr1 maybe everyone should ehm try ? And see ? It also depends on the amount of clothes you put in your washing machine.

    • @07wrxtr1
      @07wrxtr1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@asuka3407 If you have someone that has their room next to or across from the washer/dryer whom expects quiet, these things produce a THUD, BASS sound that will penetrate through your typical doors used for bedrooms in most homes. Then it becomes a conversation as to when clothes are being ran. I tried these as a diplomatic attempt to enjoy a quiet room and that didn't happen. We did try various quantities of clothing items, and it made very little difference. I'm guessing if they were less dense then they would fall apart, thus there's no real way to solve the dampening problem without the THUDDING sound.
