As children, my mother and her brother were invited to accompany their neighbors to a pageant at Camp Siegfried. Not knowing any better, my grandmother gave consent thinking it was simply a camp to educate and celebrate German culture. Evidently, the neighbors didn’t really understand it, either, because they both had Jewish relatives. This would have been in the early 1930’s. We have an undated photo taken at the lake with my mom and uncle, and two unknown German young ladies. Judging by appearance, I’m guessing my mom and uncle were about eight and six years of age.

Well, we have the "Woke," and the Weimar Republic had the work in "Deutschland Erwache " and they took down statues too.
We have a pre civil war condition, with a weak president in office, sort of like we did in James Buchanan before 1860.

On the subject of long range flights, all three Axis countries had engaged in some kind of « competition » to prove they had/could develop/ed aircraft able to fly from Europe to Japan - or in Japan’s case from Japan to Italy. They each succeeded in their different ways and routes, with Germany actually taking advantage of its temporary alliance with USSR to fly over Russian parts and even to land before the final lapse to Japan to adapt its colours to avoid being shot at by Japanese air defences.

At least in the sense of rightwing hate groups framing themselves as "patriotic" or pro-American values etc. which was absurd then as it is now, but yet it worked on some people. Geez so many inaccuracies in this video. Dash and Burger were not given clemency. They were locked away in prison. Not because they did anything wrong besides illegal entry into the US. They were locked away and very nearly executed because J Edgar Hoover wanted 100% of the credit for busting the spy ring. Dash walked into the FBI headquarters and gave up the whole thing and everybody involved. He thought he would be seen as a hero and was actually expecting a ticker tape parade through NYC. He didn't bother to make a deal first or to bring an attorney with him. Plus, he didn't hold back a shred of anything he could use later to bargain with. He had spent so much time in America and completely bought into Hoover's whole FBI G Man perfect boy scout incapable of deceit or treachery. Once Hoover had all of the information and names needed to bring the entire thing down he had Dash and Burger arrested and on the fast track to old sparky. He then rounded everybody else up then paraded them for the cameras. He concocted an entire story on how the FBI through its investigative skills and his brilliance were ablento break the spy ring up. Dash and Burger were presented as just a couple of the spies that were caught. Not even a wink or whisper about how they gave the rest of them up. The truly ironic thing was none of them were actually going to carry out the plan. They all loved America too much and were happy just to be back. They were all too terrified of what would happen if they talked about backing out with the others that none of them mentioned it. Had Dash simply talked to the others they could have all simply melted into the US population and lived out their lives as Americans.
