Awesome video very informative thank you very much!!! I have a 2017 as well and is my first newer diesel and had no idea of the extra maintenance but do now!!! Thanks again will be changing these this weekend
Thank you for your time making this good video so I work for a big dispensary they bought a new company truck for me to drive diesel super stroke flatbed Dooley 4 x 4 extra cab I was stressed out accidentally put duth into the gas tank pulled out the gas didn’t know about where to find the filters you gave me a good good idea on it I got it done the truck is running good what makes it even worse month ago one guy pumped regular gas into a Mercedes diesel van we have $28,000 cost I save the truck thank you thank you 🙏
I have a 2019 350 SD and find if you loosen two of the five mounting screws, it drains faster with nothing left to drip. I also replaced the yellow drain plug with a SPE billet metal one that doesn’t break at all. 👌🇺🇸 After your explanation of time and or mileage between filter changes, it makes sense to change out the fuel filters after every other oil change to make sure you’re getting the best protection. Maybe to costly, but better than a new engine.
the upper fuel filter center (blue) line, I think it is since it is so stiff, I completely remove it top and bottom just to get it out of the way and protect it from breaking. There have been a few stories of those line being broken by forcing them.
Why didn't you just replace both filters before priming the fuel. Could save time by replacing filter under hood while separator is draining then replace that one, prime the entire system together and Bob's your uncle.
Thanks for the detailed video on how the lines come off the top filter. I just got the kit and the last thing I want is to break something as this is my only transportation and I live in a rural area.
I also have 2017 F350 Superduty. Why do we have to disconnect the fuel line underneath for just the 17's? I saw a youtube video where this mechanic drained the water then he went to pull the filter out he got his face soaked with fuel...Is that why we need to disconnect the fuel line?

Great tip...Yes that line is extremely stiff! Thank you!
There is a company that makes billet allunium drain valve for the water separator. Mine has SPE engraved on it.
Well Explained video great job
Great video
Great video! I will be doing this tomorrow. Thank you!
Your video is very good. But i really suggest you add the year model in the title.
What if the fuel don't stop running out
its the fuel return line I think

Possibility of a vapor lock. Not fun.
