    The only one that was different for me was the relaxed hair being more brittle and dry. For me my relaxed hair was always moisturized and full and I can’t keep my natural hair moisturized to save my life lol.

    • @AlexisKimberlyy
      @AlexisKimberlyy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      dw29376 Hahaha really? Sheesh 😂 Now that I think about it... that makes total sense. More texture makes it more difficult for your natural oils to make its way down the hair shaft. I experienced that being natural too. The relaxer chemical contributes to dryness in some instances but at least it elongates the strand to make moisturizing easier. Thanks for sharing love 💋😘

    I have virgin 3c-4c long and thick hair. That being said...its TOO MUCH. To the point where i can't even enjoy it. So I negletic it by cornrowing it and wearing a wig all year round. I dont trust a hairstylist to tex-lax my hair for me so I may just do it myself... I'll make sure to get the best products I can find when I make this big leap. 😊✨

      @@terenarosa4790 Yes, I did. And... My hair reverted! It was lovely looser Waves but as soon as I washed the product out it shrunk right back to my tight curls. I believe I didn't leave the product on long enough. I left it on for 5 min when I should have left it on for 8 min because I did add additional deep conditioner and oil to the mix. Anyway, I did this in January and am not touching my hair for another 2 months for it heal. So now I have it in a protective style of cornrows and am wearing wigs. It also made my hair super dry but since I'm been feeding it oil it has gotten so soft. I'm going to texturize it again in 2 months or so so I'll update on that as well.

    When I had my hair texturized I could, still roller set with no problems. My texture was the same/no huge difference and the detangle was no problem and I didn't lose no more hair than my norm. I always tell people everyone's hair is, different. Hard to judge/compare to others hair & experience.

    When I was relaxed. I didn't have any problems with hair thinning or breakage. My hair was so thick people aften thought I was wearing a weave . I always been old school when it comes to my hair products. I use hair grease. I couldn't stretch my relaxer at all. I got it done every eight weeks. When I stretched it. That's when I experienced hair breakage . From what I've learned . Everyone hair is different and what may work for one may not work for the other.

    Honestly. This is a great video. Personally, I wouldn't texlax because It would go against what I'm trying to achieve. I'm a very to go person so I have my hair inna nice lil bun and I'm out the door. I don't see the sense to use my time to do this chemical process and still have natural hair problems (i.e. detangling wet hair, kinkiness etc) Plus, I already have thick hair with coarse strands (what a combo) which holds up well with a relaxer and underprocessed hair would lead to breakage personally. Relaxing works better for me...I believe that texlaxing would work best for persons with fine hair

      I too can roller set texlaxed hair; however, my hair is considerably much shorter. I can see why it might NOT be feasible to roller set all of that hair. Not saying her length cannot be, I just believe it would be extremely challenging...short of impossible for me.

The only reason I had a bad experience with relaxing was bc I started doing it on myself and my hair is too thick to do it alone. When I tried to texlax my hair broke off a lot due to trying to stretch out my relaxer longer than my hair liked

I just recently bought my first wig. A UPart Wig also from Amazon. The crazy thing is it looks identical to my own hair.

    • @AlexisKimberlyy
      @AlexisKimberlyy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      fish chicken Got it! So just to be clear, the rate my hair grows out of my head is the same no matter what style I have (natural, relaxed, texlaxed, etc.), but I personally have experienced less breakage with texlaxed hair so I retain more length.

    • @thee_bougiebronzebeauty5192
      @thee_bougiebronzebeauty5192 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Your hair's growth rate is predetermined by your genetics. Unless you have some sort of illness that negatively impacts it, it'll grow the same amount regardless of the state of your hair (relaxed, texlaxed, or natural). If you're interested in having longer hair, you should be sure to take proper care of your strands and keep them moisturized (especially the ends). You'll retain length by minimizing breakage.

    Can you get your hair texlaxed if its relaxed?

    • @AlexisKimberlyy
      @AlexisKimberlyy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      lil titty Hi! Thanks for your question because I’ve been asked many times about this. The short answer is yes. However, the same way it’s difficult to manage two different textures when you transition from relaxed hair to natural hair, it’s also difficult to manage your relaxed and texlaxed textures. If your ultimate goal is to texlax but you’ve got relaxed ends, just be prepared to baby your hair more and consider more protective styling as your relaxed hair grows out. Good luck and thanks for watching!! ❤️
