Hi there! There's a store with lots of Xmas items and deco located on 2229 del Libertador Ave Olivos called Alparamis, if you fancy a Christmas spirit that's the place you'll find some of that, it's a bit on the pricey side but you're gonna love it
It's not surprising you didn't see much christmas stuff yet at the time you recorded this video. In Argentina holiday's season starts on the 8th of December which is Virgin Mary's Day. People put their tree and decorations up that day and then remove them on the 6th of January which is the 3 Wise Men Day. Nowadays parks have a decorative tree and some presents from what I've seen. Besides the recommended Christmas Food you've shown (Vitel Tone and Mantecol) there's much more you can try. Matambre, Pionono, Tomates Rellenos, Ensalada Rusa, Rosca de Navidad for example. Generally families get together to dine on the 24th past midnight into the 25th. Anyways hope you have a nice time here with Michael and have a very merry christmas!

As a trilingual Argentinian, this channel shows every single nook and cranney from my childhood. From streets to bridges to even ice cream shops! Love it chanel ❤❤❤
Hi Chanel, I am an Argentinian expat living in the US, and I am with you about missing family during the holidays. It is hard. Regarding the Holiday Season in Argentina, we put the tree up and all the decorations in the house on Dec 8th, the Virgin Mary’s Day. Here in the States stores and people start earlier every year, in my neighborhood there were houses already decorated before Thanksgiving, and same with the Xmas music in the stores. I have been living here for 22 years now, and usually the decorations and Xmas music started the day after Thanksgiving. Things change I guess. I wish you and Michael Happy Holidays from me and my family. Gladys C.
Yes typically all the holiday shenanigans begin on Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving)! One of my favorite things about NY is being there in Christmas time but we’ve been enjoying bringing our own Christmas flair to BA:)
Thanks for all your videos! I’m thinking about retiring there someday, so I’m probably not your typical viewer. However, I love the snapshot of everyday life these videos give. I learn a lot from them. You are a cute couple btw. Like you I’m sure, I earn my money in usd. I can’t imagine how the porteños get by with the rampant inflation. The dollar does seem to go a long way over there & it’s one of the big reasons I would consider living there. I think I would go straight to Spanish school though & immerse myself in the culture. You both are inspiring. I look forward to your videos which come very frequently it seems. Keep going and doing your thing. I’ll just take a chill pill, kick back & watch you two go! Thank you!
No intentó tirarlo o subirse? Que rico! Compraste mantecol! ❤
25:32 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍☺☺ Finally Chanel hahaha I was about to comment that you need to go to Unicenter, always has the biggest christmas tree in the city and years ago (dont know now) there was a santa there and you can give a letter and take a picture with. Hope you have a great week guys!
Thanks Chanel and Mike! I don't know if you are going to do another video prior to the 24th.. so Xmas to the both of you! And happy new year in case we don't see eachother again! ( hope the neighbour stops blasting music! )
I the other day found the 7 for 6 pan dulce deal at Jumbo supermarket at Alcorta mall!!! So worth itttttt ❤❤❤ let's go Buenos Aires foreverrrr 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Q Rico jajaja ! Saludos 👋.
2:42 nope, we do not have much of a Christmas spirit. I've spent a couple xmases in the US, and one in Germany, so I can really tell the difference. Have a nice holiday, though. Feliz navidad!
Even it is far, you need to go to Alparamis, in Vicente Lopez. Take the 29 bus, to Olivos, and just passing the Presidential residence, you'll find it.
Saludos
At Christmas time we are getting ready for the summer vacations or figuring out how to escape the heat of the city. Chritmas is tipically a winter holiday.
Being in Buenos Aires during Chrismas coming from NY is probably similar to being in NY as an argentinean during the World Cup 😄 Too bad we are living in the darkest timeline right now and moving around on a Sunday is way more dificult than in the past. Also interestingly enough, Unicenter's Chrismas decoration this year is way more discreet than only a couple years back. But it's definitely a place for people that love window shopping (like you said, it's the biggest in Argentina, and I'm pretty sure it was the biggest in South America for a while since opening in '88)
Just saw the video. Hope you had a beautiful and merry Christmas. Had I seen your video a few days earlier, I would have invited you and Michael to have some fun with my family. Maybe an "asado" :-)
Abrazo grande ❤❤❤❤❤
2:37 I used to live in Buenos Aires and I love the city. However, I agree with you 100% ; Christmas time isn´t very festive there. You guys should try travelling to my hometown ( Medellín, Colombia) during Christmas season ( maybe next year or in 2026), as Christmas time here is very colorful and festive . You can find Christmas lights , Christmas trees, and nativity scenes all around the city.
hi! You have to go to La kitchen, a café in the Saavedra neighborhood, it's the best ☺️ and you can then chill for a bit in parque saavedra which is really close and have some Bolivian empanadas un Tay Tay which is near by too.
General rule of facturas, when they are covered in powdered sugar they taste awful, it's usually a factura from the day before, covered in some sugar and with some filling to cover the taste
I have never been in New York but from the movies, i remember that there is some "magical" time or scene that you have snow everywhere etc, but here as is Summer and somehow that "magic" changes Jjjajaa but we celebrate Chistmas with family and friends, eating and drinkin champagne or fernet. i hope you have a nice time here.
Probaste sidra?
The Best chrismas market is the Alparamis store of Olivos (You can go by train) and in your way back You can go to the panadería La Vicente López (Best pastry ever) and visit el paseo de la costa de Vicente López, a beautiful park next to the river
I was about to say: That's arroz chaufa!!!! hahahahahahaha Spent 6 years in Lima (Peru) and now here I am in Buenos Aires! Try buying aji-no-sillao in Villa Crespo or Abasto (peruvian soy sauce), that's the cheap and best soy for chaufa (and a good salsa de tamarindo/sweet & sour sauce too)
We also celebrate 'Día de los Reyes Magos' (Three Kings' Day) on January 6th, a tradition rooted in our Spanish-Catholic heritage. This day officially marks the end of the holiday season. The kids receive presents and we eat "rosca de reyes". Felices fiestas Chanel "dulsdelush" y Michael "the pan dulce butcher"!
unicenter is my fav place, to eat there, shopping or go there for printings, there is a store for us, designers and visual artists so i go there to print my artworks :P
As for the pan dulce… Yes! Cheaper are better. Try the Fantoche and Musel, those tend to be on sale. Fantoche is awesome. The garrapiñadas are actually peanuts cooked in a syrup made out of sugar and water 😊
If no one mentioned it before, THE go to place for Christmas thing is Alparamis, in Olivos (like 4 train stations from Belgrano station). It's a store all.about holidays things and it's quite posh for argie standards.
Hi Chanel, there are apparently a bunch of events for christmas and new year in the city. For example: Parque de la Navidad Plaza Seeber, Av. Del Libertador y Av. Sarmiento. Also the huge BA in plaza congreso will be decorated for the holidays.
Saludos !!
hola! podes ir a Alparamis Av.
Loved the vid! If you want to go christmas shopping one of the best stores to do that is "Alparamis". That will SURELY get you in the xmas mood. Glad you're enjoying your stay here.
Hi! You can buy Christmas ornaments at pottery workshops, there are many in Recoleta and Palermo, I’m not sure about other neighborhoods. They sell little stars and things like that to hang on the tree, many of them are made by the students. If you’re interested in any, let me know and I’ll send you the addresses.
im sure you know but christmas in the u.s. is very different than christmas in argentina (coming from an american-argentine that has lived in both places). The u.s. is always doing the most for holidays and its very performative (which i love) but argentina just isnt like that with holidays. I don't mean this in a rude way, but yea it's def going to be different
You are going to experience Christmas in the middle of summer, have you already lived something like this, we are used to it, in fact we do not know how Christmas is lived in winter, as in many countries of the northern hemisphere.
I'm sorry but it's hard to get very festive with 35C weather. I grew up in Poland where we had White Christmas every year and then moved to Buenos Aires and it's just not the same. Christmas here is asado, fernet and friends and playing in the pool or pelopincho.
hey there, so there are a few xmas events like what you were looking for the one i know the most is the one for the Hungarian comunnity in Olivos, they do it every year, beside that a lot of malls have a santa to take pictures with, and in san Telmo you have in Carlos calvo and Bolivar if i m not wrong a church that does european choir and xmas festival too. Also on San Telmo there is an English pub name Gibraltar that every year they do the regular foods like for thanks giving etc, i think that the clash its because its really hot in here for the holidays so all festivities tend to be inside, and what you will see the most is at midnigth opn the 24 tons of fireworks and parties everywhere until dawn
Sometime i watched your videos because I need improve my english, it's a long time i don't speak in english anybody cause I don't know nobody Who can speak english with me, it cheer me up to know that you like my country, greetings from buenos aires.
@@chanelmeyerrthank you, i think you should choose a football team, i can recoment river plate, it 's gonna make you very happy... by the way i live in Recoleta neighborhood..bye bye
Hi there. In the past Buenos Aires could've been any foreigner's home but I doubt it now with so much chaos going on. I Have experienced myself how things have gotten worse and tougher like never before. To such a point has it worsened that it has affected people's mood. They've become Grumpy rude, impatient towards foreigners and even to themselves. The economy has driven them crazy. Noone can feel at home when you see feel and experience all this.
For Christmas people get together on the 24th and they wait till midnight and they celebrate it as if it were the New years to all this during the day they were eating and drinking... It's hot a lot of people are outside
I moved to BA on 31 August 2024 and have been living in Villa Crespo since then. Two weeks ago I had to leave the country for a few days and then return to reset my tourist visa. I went to Santiago Chile. Unlike Argentina, most of the stores are open on Sundays. However, I think that Santiago lacks the charm and style of Buenos Aires. My favorite vegetarian/vegan cafe in BA is Casa Munay on Gorriti in Palermo. If you want posh vegan restaurant for a special occasion, I recomend MUDRÁ Plant-Based on Corrientes.
In Buenos Aires people make holidays celebrations themselves..! Porteños used to spend a lot of money in fireworks back in the day... also when there was not buildings everywhere people would enjoy asados in jardines y terrazas and at 00:00hs look up to the sky 360° to see a firework show all made by the neightbors! Nowdays fireworks are less positive viewed and you cant see pretty much apart from your block because of highrises. Also due to economic crysis last years the mood was worse and worse and nothing to celebrate. BUT... as you see things are starting to get better! I suspect we may see the biggest fireworks celebrations in years cause people really are expecting and enjoying the next year is coming..!!!

Btw love the Poka content!! ❤😂
As a trilingual Argentinian, this channel shows every single nook and cranney from my childhood. From streets to bridges to even ice cream shops! Love it chanel ❤❤❤
This is so sweet thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I miss my summer Xmas. Hopefully when my husband retires (in 18 months), we can go spend more time there.
For the Pan Dulce you must go to "Plaza Mayor". It's expensive, but it's worth it.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Plaza Mayor Is the best
Plaza Mayor Is the best
Thank you!
You have to to to Alparamis (the one in av. Libertador, Olivos) is the most crhistmassy thing ever, yo also have a cafe there, you'll love it
Nooo, Michael. The pan Dulce! 😆 Happy holidays, guys!
😂 Thank you!! You too❤️❤️
No intentó tirarlo o subirse?
Que rico! Compraste mantecol!
No hace nada! 🫶🏻❤️
Es una gatita hermosa!
25:32 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍☺☺ Finally Chanel hahaha
I was about to comment that you need to go to Unicenter, always has the biggest christmas tree in the city and years ago (dont know now) there was a santa there and you can give a letter and take a picture with.
Hope you have a great week guys!
😂😂😂🫶🏻❤️❤️ Thank you!
alsoooo would be cute if you made like a morning routine video or something of that sort since you mentioned you like your routines
It looks like you live in Palermo near Las Heras Park, enjoy your stay in Buenos Aires.
I don’t….but if I did why would you think it’s okay to post where I live if you thought you knew??? 👎

Best place to buy Christmas decor is alparamis. It’s a place you should visit and maybe do a video about it.
Thanks Chanel and Mike! I don't know if you are going to do another video prior to the 24th.. so Xmas to the both of you! And happy new year in case we don't see eachother again!
( hope the neighbour stops blasting music! )
A new video will be going up Sunday a little early before Christmas:)) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!!❤️🫶🏻
Oh my God! Cafe Crespin, this brought me so many memories! You need to try the French toast with bacon and eggs.
Agree, their food is incredible. Villa Crespo as a whole is so underrated!
I the other day found the 7 for 6 pan dulce deal at Jumbo supermarket at Alcorta mall!!! So worth itttttt ❤❤❤ let's go Buenos Aires foreverrrr 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
What a deal!!!
Q Rico jajaja ! Saludos 👋.
Gracias!!!❤️❤️ Y que lindooo 🥹🫶🏻
@@chanelmeyerr 👏👏😊😊😀😀😀😀
2:42 nope, we do not have much of a Christmas spirit. I've spent a couple xmases in the US, and one in Germany, so I can really tell the difference. Have a nice holiday, though. Feliz navidad!
Feliz Navidad!!!
Please try the "Don Satur" Pan Dulce Brand. It's most Argentinians favorite brand and it has a good price!
If you like pan dulce you should try the bauducco panettone. Its sooo moist you are going to love it.
Even it is far, you need to go to Alparamis, in Vicente Lopez. Take the 29 bus, to Olivos, and just passing the Presidential residence, you'll find it.
At Christmas time we are getting ready for the summer vacations or figuring out how to escape the heat of the city. Chritmas is tipically a winter holiday.
i love your gorgeous pets!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

9:43 Wow BAKERY my regular place to buy croissants, ARS 6400 for 12 pieces. 😊
Welcome to Buenos Aires!
Being in Buenos Aires during Chrismas coming from NY is probably similar to being in NY as an argentinean during the World Cup 😄
Too bad we are living in the darkest timeline right now and moving around on a Sunday is way more dificult than in the past.
Greetings from Salta and good luck. When an educated, hard working immigrant makes Argentina their new home, it's a moment of rejoice.
Oooo! How festive and fun!! ❤️🫶🏻
No es festiva? La hacemos FAMILIERA. Jodete sino la tenes flaco...
hi! You have to go to La kitchen, a café in the Saavedra neighborhood, it's the best ☺️ and you can then chill for a bit in parque saavedra which is really close and have some Bolivian empanadas un Tay Tay which is near by too.
You just planned a day for us!! lol!
Great Video! Hope to see more Xmass Videos!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you!
Feliz Navidad Meyer
I didn’t realize it was also celebrated here, in the US 3 kings day isn’t as celebrated. And JAJAJA gracias 😂🫶🏻🇦🇷
Hola, I was wondering if you have ever been to La Feria de Mataderos? I think you guys would enjoy it.
We have not but it is on our list of things to go to!!
I really like the little bloopers at the end jajajahsja

As for the pan dulce… Yes! Cheaper are better. Try the Fantoche and Musel, those tend to be on sale. Fantoche is awesome. The garrapiñadas are actually peanuts cooked in a syrup made out of sugar and water 😊
Perfect we will keep our eyes on the lookout!!
Hi< I recomend you to spend a sunny day in Puerto de Frutos, in El Tigre!
The Christmas season, I think, is the only time when it is preferable to be in any other country. There's not much of that feeling around here. 😕
Te abrazo ❤pronto veras a tu familia❤🎉

Please, I would love To see more of Max!
Sometimes he’s the star but this vlog was definitely Poca’s 😂
Mantecol is a kind of peanut butter sweet. Once has a lot of Christmas ornaments if you want to get more.
If no one mentioned it before, THE go to place for Christmas thing is Alparamis, in Olivos (like 4 train stations from Belgrano station). It's a store all.about holidays things and it's quite posh for argie standards.
Thank you for this!!
Hi Chanel, there are apparently a bunch of events for christmas and new year in the city.
For example:
Parque de la Navidad
Plaza Seeber, Av. Del Libertador y Av. Sarmiento.
Also the huge BA in plaza congreso will be decorated for the holidays.
Muchísimas gracias!!!!!!! ❤️
Saludos !!
hola! podes ir a Alparamis Av.
Loved the vid! If you want to go christmas shopping one of the best stores to do that is "Alparamis". That will SURELY get you in the xmas mood. Glad you're enjoying your stay here.
I think that may have been the one we went to but I’m not sure!!! If it was it was so cute and festive ❤️
Hi Chanel! I would really love to see you interacting with other argentinians, teaching you words, lingo, frases (maybe bad words too 😅), culture, etc
Jaja! And I try to separate the vlog from hanging out with my friends, taking classes, or going to events so I can really be immersed and present:)
Love your videos Chanel saludos desde argentina

Hi, next time try to go to "Plaza Seeber", its a Xmas Fest form the Gobierno de la Ciudad. PS: opens at 15:00, the down side, its crowded, go early.
I think it opens at 17!
Thank you.
We need more Michael episodes
A bit of gaming, his work life, things like that
Yeah, we don't know much about him, but maybe he wants it that way, so it's fine if that's the case.
Ive been trying to convince him for forever to start his own channel!!
I'm sorry but it's hard to get very festive with 35C weather. I grew up in Poland where we had White Christmas every year and then moved to Buenos Aires and it's just not the same. Christmas here is asado, fernet and friends and playing in the pool or pelopincho.
We have to try 5x as hard to bring the spirit for sure!
In BA you have to go to Alparamis to get christmas stuff, that's THE place.
hey there, so there are a few xmas events like what you were looking for the one i know the most is the one for the Hungarian comunnity in Olivos, they do it every year, beside that a lot of malls have a santa to take pictures with, and in san Telmo you have in Carlos calvo and Bolivar if i m not wrong a church that does european choir and xmas festival too.
Wow thanks for these places!!!
Sometime i watched your videos because I need improve my english, it's a long time i don't speak in english anybody cause I don't know nobody Who can speak english with me, it cheer me up to know that you like my country, greetings from buenos aires.
I’m happy you find them useful!! And I think your English is very good:)
¿DÓNDE FUISTE A HACER LAS COMPRÁS DÉ NAVIDAD🌲SÍ SÉ PUEDE SABER?🤔🇦🇷🇺🇲
I’ve been to Santiago and agree that there’s a certain charm that BA has that Santiago doesn’t quite have (but I still enjoyed my time there!) 🫶🏻
