Anyone looking to get into a Shirogorov should be buying them on the secondary rn. High dollar stuff is hard to move rn because of the economy, so Shiro and other knives in that price tier get a second hit to their demand on top of the hit everyone’s taking with stuff staying in stock. Most of the popular models sell for a minimum $150 off and many are $200-300 off. Aside from that, the strong majority of them are unused safe queens because a lot of people don’t want to use a knife that expensive.
Yep, I've bought plenty of knives on the secondary market, including 3 Spideys, and man, I never thought I'd own one until I bought the first one and then it was Katy bar the door! Also folks, don't forget you can bargain with sellers, I've had two occasions where I've offered below asking and they've accepted, so you can save even more. The latest one is a real jewel, and may be the favorite of my collection so far.
Getting into the secondary market can be a bit daunting for many people - fear of getting ripped off etc... Some really good advice here. My biggest recommendation is to do your research before jumping in. Research: 1) The make/model you're interested in so you know exactly what you should be getting - this will help you spot fakes and/or knives that may have been modded or abused. 2) Pricing - this will help you know if you're getting a good deal. With just a little bit of caution you can often get a good deal and get that hard-to-get knife you've always wanted. Sharp blades all.
I own several Spyderco knives, it's funny how you mentioned where they are made as I own a couple from China and a couple from Taiwan and a couple from Japan, but the most, well 3 from the US. Gotta say that they are all good to excellent knives. Just saw your Kapara, one of my Grail knives, drooling 🤤
Not saying you're wrong Jared about why more knives are available but my theory it has to do with the economy. I'm into economics and I think it has to do with rising unemployment because of how high the interest rates have been from banks over the last 18 months. I think things will get worse before they get better and will see more of the sought after knives become more and more available. May be wrong but thought I would put my opinion out there in case it helps anyone. PS Great vids as always man thank you :)
Yes it absolutely does I wasn't bringing up the cause only cuz we know the why i thought i was making it clear when I said when people need money then mentioned reasons for needing money
Benchmade warranty was really good but now that they tripled the price of a replacement blade, it kinda hurt the value. I think I’d rather sharpen myself but I know why some value that service.
Thanks for the info. Never heard of Bladebinge. Found a deal right off. WMK Exclusive Shieldon Scythe Been looking at this for awhile. Cant beat for 40$ saved me 25$.
Bladebinge seems awesome, just wish it worked good to ship to EU. Customs takes alot here in Sweden.. 1000 dollar Medford would end up cost me 1500 dollar. :/
@@wbwills2 Yeah ofc! But Swedish customs also goes deeper and search up the brand/model and can claim it as a new product. Too much work to try to avoid it really. 😬 They even include the shipping cost as the price of the knife. 😵 😭
A self proclaimed Ti Ho. Much respect for admitting hoing for whatever reason. My girlfriends could benefit from you .learn how to be honest .have no shame in your game,IMHO. I DON’T. Take care. Thx for heads up on secondary market knives. Will be checking them out.
I have a spyderco matriarch 2 and the pocket clip broke. I emailed the warranty team asking if I could buy another clip. They said their clips last a lifetime so it should not have broken. I sent the a picture of the broken clip and they never responded. The only company I’ve ever been totally ghosted by. I will never own another spyderco.
I've gotten probably 5 or 6 knives off Blade Binge and had no problems whatsoever. Benchmade gets no more of my money until something changes there.
F B/M!!!!
Same here, on both counts

Hey. Thanks, yet another information, leaning packed video!! I appreciate you, Bro. ✨😻
I've bought about ten knives from Bladebinge with no issues! Got a couple rare Pyrites for my collection!

I love shopping the secondary market. I got my SBD Apex for $200. I'd say 3/4 of my collection is from the secondary market.

Nothing but smooth operating on Bladebinge for me as well.

As a UK resident, a secondary market for knifes is wild.
Really? Anything collectible will have a secondary
@@NeevesKnives too many restrictions here, you can literally hand them to the police for cash.
man those houge knives mechanics sound freakin sick
Thanks for the review!

Taiwans known for their tools being one of their best exports. & The prices have to be better. On at the very least,as good a quality.
I love the Shaman and I am working on collecting each variant...even though the nub just pisses me off
I hate that nub so much.
Where can you buy and sell pre-owned OTF knives?
Well said, great video brother
14:37 Wasn't looking at the screen, scared the shit outta me lol
Same here! It even scared me again when I clicked your timestamp link 😅
Great video man 👍
Between Holt and Herman, which brand would you go for first?
I love titanium since I was a teenager. And now I work in the metal industry. Titanium is the strongest metal in the world strength to weight ratio.

I've always want the megatherium
I got the cold steel 4 max scout at tractor supply for only 41$ win win for me
Is Spyderco's Magnacut not too soft? Preferably it should be 63-65 hrc, but according to tests it's much less (61 to 62 if I'm not mistaken).
To my knowledge they are running it 63+ I seem one thing say 62 to 64 but from what I've seen they fall into the 63+ range
@@NeevesKnives Thank you
Did you already sell that Chaves/Urban EDC 229? Been trying to get a tanto version to go with my drop point
It should bebup there now
Generally speaking the secondary market is such a buyers market right now. Slow as I’ve ever seen it!

Damn i thought it only went up a little
Hey Jared ive been trying to decide between the sencut Actuim and the civivi Button Lock elementum..( the 14c28n version) which do you like better.
If it's the 3.5 blade then the elementum
@@NeevesKnives yes the 3.5 elementum 👍 thank you

If your wanting a knife built for cutting purposes only no impact
