I personally loved Megamind. I think it's much better than Despicable Me in every aspect. I watched Despicable Me once and then again with my mum, and she wasn't bothered. It just wasn't funny the second time. But I can happily watch Megamind over and over and still find it entertaining, beautiful, and fun.
you know what, you're right, but to be fair, at least for me, i didn't think there were alot of good animated movies before. Especially if despicable me is and was as mainstream as it is.
Kermode seems utterly oblivious to the fact that this movie actually had a great many jokes, most of which were significantly funnier than the mispronunciations of words he noticed of all things. It's also a significantly more original and better movie than any superhero movie made since 2010.
I like Megamind. Not a new concept or a new take on the Super Hero genre, but enjoyable nonetheless. The main character, Megamind, was someone I very much sympathized with. I cared for him, I was moved by him. Therefore, I'd say this was a good movie.
i agree, to an extent. I think TO AN EXTENT mark is much more judging towards animation, but he has a point, it isn't that funny, it is a good concept (i'll give it that) and it does bring nostalgia to me, even though i hated it as a kid. So i would rather say it's more iconic than an "actual" good movie, BUT, i watched mark's review on rise of guardians before this, that i STRONGLY disagree on, that was my fav movie as a kid and maybe still today!
Interesting how he never mentions what every other idiot mentions about this film nowadays, almost as if they like it for ridiculous and skin deep reasons.

sometimes mark kermode talks about grammar, but he says it ''ain't'' things.

What?
I was a little underwhelmed by The Incredibles on first viewing, but loved it second time around.
Yet it stayed
but it will probably have a sequel...
I wish and I'm not alone.
