    Best one was on the last day of 2009 season. Texeria was tied for the lead league with Home runs with Pena for the Rays, and they were playing the rays. With 2 on and 2 out the rays intentionally walked Texeria so he wouldnt have the single season lead. A-rod was next up and proceeded to hit a slam, which ironically put him at 34 Homeruns, and EXACTLY 100 RBI for the season.
    As we know, the Yankees went on to win that world series.

      he had a 3-run homer in that game too to put him at that 100 to keep like an 11 year run of 30hr-100rbi going. i know his career is dubious now but man he could be fun to watch

  • @dwedge914

    He should have signed with the Mets...we treated him like trash most of the time in NY...in 2006 the guy hit over .290, had 35 homers and over 120 rbi's and you would have thought he was the worst player in baseball..

    • @Yoy28
      @Yoy28  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I remember correctly he struggled a lot in clutch situations in the summer of 2006, and then had such a tough time in the ALDS that he got dropped to 8th in the order. The final numbers looked real good, but he struck out more and grounded into more DPs, while also struggling in the field. Safe to say he came back with a vengeance in 2007.

      they blame arod everything when he was there until '09 ..... but the truth is,the yankees starting pitchers suck until cc & a.j arrived in '09 ...... when arod was traded to the nyy that was also the year roger clemens & andy pettitte left for houston .... they couldn't find replacements for them,the reason they promoted mike mussina as an ace,but moose is not an ace, he's a good no.3 not an ace .... they just wasted arod's 5 (prime) years ..... & as we all know,you can't win rings without good starting pitchers to support your good hitters .....

    • @Yoy28
      @Yoy28  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnnier.o.d4746 It wasn't all on A-Rod during those years, but lets be fair. For the amount of money A-Rod was making, he completely underwhelmed in the playoffs. Putting up the numbers he did batting in the middle of the order was severely detrimental. Other guys in the lineup didnt step up as well and there were obviously pitching issues, but with A-Rod's price tag, the criticism is perfectly justified

    • @dukedematteo1995
      @dukedematteo1995 ปีที่แล้ว

      He underperformed most of the year, was terrible in big spots, struggled in the field and was constantly in the news for doing dumb things like sun bathing on a rock in Central Park.
      He got hot in late August and September well after the Yankees had broken open the division.
      Jeter and Giambi carried the offense that season.

    2:20 it’s so weird seeing AROD in that Washington Senators uniform for throwback night with the Rangers. I don’t remember Texas ever wearing Senators uniforms like that again. Probably because the Expos moved to DC and used a lot of the same colors. Also didn’t the Twins have some claim to the Washington Senators team history as well ? Anyway love see throwback uniforms like that
