@@nebulotion More like 8€ at minimum. 😂 Cause last time I checked we had such prices like almost a decade ago and inflation is a thing. The only way you can get anything for cheap is to buy second hand (with dubious quality depending on if you buy it online or from a store that sells old books), from libaries or by selling your life. And even if you end up finding something for cheap online, you'll end up paying the huge postal fees - often with the inability of choosing a reliable service provider (since the Posti will absolutely loose your package or mess up the order, so it's better to get a different company for that.). The one complete series I bought from a Lehtipiste location (magazine distributing spot in convenience stores ect) was like 5 - 6,95€ per piece. And this was around 2014, since I got them fresh off the press. So the publications that are being sold in Finland that aren't restricted to speciality boutiques are getting closer to 9 - 10€ per piece, slow releases, shoddy translations and the series chosen are very limited. From the 5 series I know are running in the non-speciality stores in my area we have like three re-releases/prints. Since we end up with such a restricted amount of series to choose from, one is almost forced to start importing english releases, which obviously is gonna cost a ton in post fees and tax.
I remember asking a friend to buy back some manga from Japan so I could practice my reading. He brough back 6 volumes of a series I liked and I was prepared to pay out ~80 $ for all 6 (for refrence, my local comic shop charges 12 $ for popular series and 16/18 $ for less popular series). Hey man I have a question about something. You said you were practicing Japanese so does that mean you learned or are learning it from scratch? I obviously speak English and am looking to speak Japanese, do you mind telling me what program or app you used to learn it?
@@andrerl1031 I am self taught, but I've stalled recently due to some professional issues, so I've fallen off the last year or so. 03:43 "Suki na ko ga megane o wasureta" is a very sweet romcom, I love it. The anime is.... okay, I guess? The voices, the OP and ED are all great, but the animation has some bizarre visuals sometime, especially in the first episode. My favourite anime romcom this year was definitely BokuYabai! By the way, "Tonari no onee-san" by Fujichika Koume is a cute manga too. I'm collecting the japanese volumes.
This video was so nice to watch! Also, I have no idea as to how you managed not to leave all your money at that shop, I wouldn't have had the self control to keep myself from buying absolutely everything I see (-v-). Where I live, I always have to pay at least $15 for a single volume TT!!

I love the music of your videos. The music in this one is just what is needed for book shopping. I love your channel and I am looking forward to buy some manga in Japan on my next trip.
THAT TOMATO JUICE IN THE START WAS MY CHILDHOOD! OMGGGG
Just got my first few manga recently. Had a £200 book voucher and brought around £130 of manga with it. Manga here is between £8-£16 a volume depending on the series, popularity and age. Would really be amazing to see cheaper manga here but it will probably never happen, still it's cheaper than when I tried to collect marvel comics and the covers look better
I feel like I would get lost and spend literal hours searching through the shelves!! So many interesting series not published in English! •A•)
haha yes!! I definitely got so lost, I was even lost when I was editing the footage like where am I haha!! It was definitely so fun seeing all of the series I've never seen before
Oh woww.. Love it. I want the fruits basket series and spy family :)
Veryyyy cozy video😊 thats a insane amount of manga lol the reason why im thinking they have that many is because they know they'll sell in japan, in the states its a hit or miss, but its a growing trend to get manga so maybe theyll start expanding for us too
Thank you so so much!! Definitely an insane amount of manga haha~ yess hoping manga gets even more popular in america soon!
love the vibe of this video! just chill and layed back
Loving the Japan content 😋
3:43 hmm it's really good!! I really like the series so much ❤❤
1:11 those are actually characters from a game called Ensemble stars!! music. Its a rhythm game with really good music and a lot of fun characters!
Wow Japan has Bookoff!! I never knew that!
I've been to two Bookoffs in California. One in Torrance California in the Del Amo mall and another in Compton. I miss going to that place. I would buy cds and movies over there.
I didn't know California had Bookoffs either!! That's so cool, I'll definitely have to check it out when I'm back :))
@@mangatama Yes you should those Bookoffs are starting to show up in a lot of places in Cali. There might be one or two in your part of California.
yay for this bc i’m heading there in a few weeks, but wasn’t sure which particular store 2 go, tysm ^^
just checking if it’s the sunshine 60 tori store ?
that’s so exciting!! yes this is one by sunshine city :)) hope you have a great time!!
Wow, that store is amazing. The prices are so cheap and there is so much inventory!
praying prices like these hit some of the stores near me I cant even buy 6 volumes without dishing out 50 but at least crunchyroll gives out a good discount for my subscription
I should state that if you want to be happy while trying different mangas all time - try to learn basic Japanese to the level you can / try to read from ground up
Congratulations on 100k!
You are on of my favourite youtbers❤
Thank you so so much!! I truly appreciate it so much
The "dentist x romance" is comedic gold. I recommend it!
This so good! But is there english versions? Bc im planning to go to japan soon! Great video :)
3:50 so happy that this is popular ❤ i wish more fans were in canada

Wowwww I’m so jealous! I wish we had a store like this in New York 😭💜 I would buy everything 😂
I wish something like this shows up in the U.S. soon too!! >< cheap prices are soo nice haha
1:40 my school library has a bunch of series of that manga/comic, and they also have haikyuu books :3
(Books are free to read we just have to hand them back in after a few weeks.
At barnes and noble there was a 3 in 1 manga of "a sign of affection" and it was significantly cheap for the size! it was $23 !!
3:49 BUNGO STRAY DOGS IS THE BESTTTT
REAL I LOVE BSD ^_^
I want to start studying Japanese, it would be so nice to just be able to read manga in Japanese & it would save so much money! I love to watch your video's to just see what stores in Japan look like, it just has a whole different vibe than a manga store in western countries. 🥰
THOSE PRICES ARE INSANE 😭 that’s why I always use websites that translate it in English for free 😅
I was here when I had a trip to Japan back in May! One of the best place to be. I feel nostalgic seeing this. I got myself two Gunplas and a few anime keychains for friends.
1:10 MITSURU TENMA WHAT R U DOING THERE POOKIEE
This is literally, LITERALLY, a dream😩😭
God this store is my dream come true 😭😭😭🤤
THE ENSTARS CARDSS
1:10 They're characters from a Rhythm game called 'Ensemble Stars'! :D
