      So you advocate the Colts go 3-14 and draft another Andrew Luck or maybe the next Bryce Young? Then maybe within a couple years they could build things back to mediocrity...

    Hey Colt fans.I am a Jaguar fan who clicked on this link because I wanted to hear what other division teams were saying about the Lawrence signing. Definitely a different perspective.😂 So, first off, the cap hit for this year is 11 million dollars, next year it is 25 million and the extension doesn't kick in until 2026. So whatever financial ramifications come from this contract it won't be for the next two seasons. As we all know the salary cap continues to go up and up so in a couple of years 55 million won't seem as big of a hit. Also, the way the quarterback market is if you don't pay them now you pay more later. So many people feel that paying Trevor now actually saves in the future. So financially it was actually a good move for the Jags. As for the narrative that Trevor Lawrence is a mediocre quarterback I don't understand that. The first year with Urban Meyer was a complete and utter disaster and Trevor as a rookie was literally leading the team because he didn't have a coach to do it for him. Since Doug Peterson has taken over there is no doubt Trevor has improved. The first year we made the playoffs and the second year we were 8 and 3 playing for the number one seed in the AFC. Then Trevor got hurt, along with some of our other key players, and the season spiraled out of control. There is no doubt that the injuries played a huge role in Trevor Lawrence's performance down the stretch. In hindsight, he probably shouldn't have played. But you want your quarterback to be tough and for whatever reason they felt he was healthy enough to go out and play. And they didn't have a whole lot of faith in the backup quarterback CJ Beathard. From the middle of the 2022 season to the point where Trevor got hurt last season the Jaguars were 13 and 4. Number 16 is a big reason for that record. I get it the jaguars are probably the least popular team in the league and most aren't following them on a regular basis so they are relying on these national pundits to provide them with their information. I am here to tell you they are wrong. Trevor Lawrence is not a mediocre quarterback and it is absolutely a good thing for them to sign him to this extension. No one in Jacksonville is upset that we extended Trevor Lawrence. The guy is only 24 years old and people are acting like his career is over or that he doesn't have any more room to grow. I don't get it. Before his injury he was playing at a high level. We were the number one team in the AFC. He has a head coach who is known for his ability to develop quarterbacks. And Trevor still has all the tools that made him the number one draft pick. Dude is not a mediocre quarterback. Never has been, never will be. I get why a Colts fan would want to believe that but it's not true. Don't believe what the national media is spoon feeding you. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely. Number one is turnovers. That is a major issue. Since he joined the league Trevor has committed 60 turnovers😮 That's not something that can continue to happen. But it's more fumbles than interceptions. And a lot of those fumbles occur when he's trying to do too much. He needs to learn how to slide and take what the defense gives him. The other thing I would say is he needs to play with more consistency. He can make some absolutely beautiful throws and then miss an easy out pattern. He's tall and lanky so he really has to focus on mechanics and footwork. But as I said he's gotten better every year and I don't expect anything different moving forward. I don't know if any of you Colt fans have actually made it to the end of this long post but if you did I hope that I was able to give you another perspective. If you're like me you're probably waiting for the season to get here so you can see what happens with your team. I do think the Colts are going to be a good team. A lot will depend on the development of AR but pieces are in place. Should be fun.

    • @mynicemortgage1234
      @mynicemortgage1234 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So he is turnover prone and has bad mechanics due to his height. Andrew Luck and his big brain refused to slide. Perhaps he will improve his decision making. Harbaugh did with Lindy Infante. Lawrence is better than Levis and AR at this point due to his experience. Hopefully Stroud regresses a little bit.

    • @KentSterling
      @KentSterling  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great head coach? Lawrence just squeezes into the top 15. And no one blames Lawrence for signing the deal - I would too! Good for him. OK starter making crazy money. It happens.

    • @KentSterling
      @KentSterling  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To answer one of your points - and I appreciate you taking the time to share them all - no fan is ever upset with an extension until looking back shows the foolishness of it. Jags fans may never see it through the correct prism. They may blame Baalke for building a flawed roster, but the holes will exist because Lawrence eats cap.
      And just to clean up the extension numbers, Lawrence is $15M this season and $17M next season. Then its $24, $35, and $47 this next three. There are balloon seasons at the tail for better than $70M, but those will be negotiated into another extension if Lawrence is still wanted. The real debit for the Jags in this deal is they have no ability to pivot out of Lawrence for a significant period, and they might get tired of finishing third in the South.

    I'm with you 100% on Clark and Haliburton. The time off is going to be great for Clark long-term. No need for her to be on the Olympic team. I'm terrified of Haliburton playing in the Olympics. After a 100 game season with a lingering hamstring issue and back issues, he needs the time to rest and rehab. If he doesn't get hurt during the Olympics, I'm thinking next season will be riddled with injuries for him.
    With the NFL, your best chance to win is with a QB on his rookie deal. After that, unless they're a top 5 QB, you're almost better off starting over trying to hit on another rookie QB.

    You havent been watching the fever but the 1st half last night was their best of the season as a team., 2nd half not so much but luckily had enough of a lead to carry them thru. Not sure I have missed a Fever game this season. Fever benefitted last night from the Dream playing a miserable and effortless first half. Their defensive rebounding was pitiful, and Boston was active enough to do good work on the offensive glass. Clark's seven TOs were indicative of her need to adapt to the quickness of WNBA players. Definitely disagree with your list of quarterbacks better than Trevor. Top four are definitely solid. I'm not as big a fan of Lamar Jackson as some people but he is a hell of a regular season quarterback. I don't believe he should have won MVP last year either. That should have been Christian McCaffrey. But the MVP has become a quarterback award. Based on career accomplishments Rogers is ahead of Trevor as well. But Trevor Lawrence is only 24 years old with a lot of room to improve and Aaron Rodgers is a 40 year old coming off an Achilles injury who hasn't played good football in over 2 years. As for CJ Stroud he's only done it one year. The expectations for that team were very low and they absolutely exceeded them. Props for that. But you know as well as I do that if your team hadn't choked at the worst possible time and put Jonathan Taylor on the bench for the most important play of your season the Texans might not have even made the playoffs. Let's see how the Texans do when the expectations have changed. Before we start making CJ Stroud an elite quarterback let's see him do it for more than one year. Still the second best QB in the AFC South. Most if not all GM`s would take Trevor Lawrence over CJ Stroud. And Herbert couldn't beat Lawrence with a 27 point lead when they went head to head. Sure, Trevor played terrible the first half but the way he was able to stay focused and lead the team back for the win shows why he's ahead of Herbert. Everybody falls in love with Justin Herbert canon arm and gaudy statistics but what has he done. I do like the Jim Harbaugh signing and he is young so I wouldn't write him off yet. So I guess I would put Trevor Lawrence as the number four quarterback on your list I would take both Lawrence and Herbert over Lamar personally. I think they're better quarterbacks. I would take Lamar over Stroud though. Stroud has been getting way too much hype

The last year he played was better than Lawrence best year…..as far as Wilson go look at HIS last year…..better than Lawrence…he is still young is a Super Bowl winner (Lawrence isnt)…..Stroud is just better. Period……and Herbert is too. Regardless what the team has done against the jags……………..just look at the numbers. Nothing on this list is wrong. At all….because it’s supported by fact. Lawrences numbers are less than these guys. Period…….if we want to talk about POTENTIAL…….and skill? And talent? Well good luck with that…..if we talk about that I have evidence to suggest AR is better RIGHT now….than Lawrence……hes bigger, faster, throws it further, harder, had a 3 to 1 TD to INT ratio…….had 7 TDS in 3.6 games played…projected out thats a better year than Lawrence has EVER had….period…….not to mention this is yeard 4 for Trevor….and he REGRESSED…………..didnt continue to get better……..he is young….yes…but so is AR…..

    The middle is absolutely terrible…..totally agree….that is exactly why I liked the AR selection…….the ceiling is huge and the floor is very low also….LOL….wont take long to figure out which is which and we can win a Super Bowl or move on….HAHAHAHAHHA……….medicority looks exactly like what the colts look like…..over last 8 years….are we good are we not? Super Bowl aspirations with matt Ryan? Uh. 4-12-1….hahahahahahahahahah………the middle is terrible. You need to put it all on the line and either win it all or suck. As quickly as you can……BECAUSE losing also gets you great pics to build off of…QUARTERBACKS….and hitting ceilings you win super bowls…..so you should go all in or all out as much and as fast as possible.

      Trevor Lawrence>>>Anthony Richardson. Of course, that wouldn't be too hard considering Richardson's problems staying healthy. Dude was already raw when he came into the league and he missed his whole first season. Poor accuracy and decision making.. But I can't call him a bust yet. Got to stay on the field long enough to make that determination and given his playing style that could be a problem. Every GM including yours would take Trevor Lawrence over Anthony Richardson.

      @@Maugisfusion no they wouldn’t. And that was the stupidest thing anyone has ever uttered. LMFAO……who the fuck cares about Trevor Lawrence. Dude. I never even think about the guy. The jags dont impress me. Lawrence is nothing. They beat us a few times. Great. They havent won shit and Lawrence like I said is the 8th best Qb in the AFC…..as soon as AR reaches his potential, I will be back here laughing at you……projected out AR’s first year was better than Trevors…BY FAR….Lawrence cant run either. ….AR can………CURRENTLY, as a player, Trevor just got paid….but he is 20-30 as a QB……so that means nothing…..zero………hes not a winning qb. No idea why you are even on this site. We honestly dont even think about Lawrence…..he doesnt keep us up at night…..but AR and his ceiling must already be giving you nightmares otherwise you wouldn’t be here……poor. Guy.

    Someday a team will figure out that rotating young QBs and building killer rosters around them rather than second contracting mid-level QBs to the moon is the way to go...
