@@elizabethd8109 in Phantom of the opera they perform Don Juan triumphant. What if they know about it from that? Is this a phantom and les mis crossover we didn't know we needed?🤣
I don't particularly care about the barricade boys in the same way a lot of the fandom does but the sheer exasperation in "Grantaire, put that bottle *down!*" is one of my favourite moments in the entire 25th anniversary show
Between Hadley Frasier and Ramin Karimloo, my ovaries don't stand a chance. ❤❤❤ "Grantaire, put that bottle DOWN!!" "It's better than an oooooperaaaaaa!!"
I don't know if this is just a coincidence or not. There is a line that could tie Poto to les mis. "Battles to be won just like Don Juan. It is better than an opera." It's not like they both take place in the same city about 50 years a part.
visually, i think nick did great looking the part of marius being naive, young, and in love. but i found that he portrayed marius to only those aspects :// when marius started with, "had you been there tonight-" he was supposed to be able to challenge enjolras' statement with his passion here. nick stood no chance with ramin's enjolras.. made you feel bad for him as a boy rather than see his romance for what it is as the human side of the revolution.
Ramin stands out.... a lot. How can someone have such an amazing voice? Nick is okay - for a pop singer I would even say "very good" - but his pronunciation sucks a lot. Hadley Fraser has also an amazing voice, but Ramin still dominates them all.
The time is near So near it's stirring the blood in their veins! And yet beware Don't let the wine go to your brains! We need a sign To rally the people To call them to arms To bring them in line! I've never heard him ooh and aah You talk of battles to be won And here he comes like Don Juan It is better than an opera! It is time for us all To decide who we are Do we fight for the right To a night at the opera now? Have you asked of yourselves What's the price you might pay? Okay, first time listening this through studio headphones, you can hear autotune changing pitch for Nick, while Ramin manages to mostly hit every note by himself. Difference in class.

Finally!! I actually really liked him in this. The fall of rain song was especially fitting for him. And I'm not biased, I'm not actually a fan of his normal music but I really like him here.
He doesn't have the voice that the other performers have, less power and a different technique. it makes him stand out way too much, and for me that is distracting
God bless Hadley Fraser for pronouncing "Juan" correctly.
I heard somewhere that it was supposed to be pronounced that way (ju-an), it's a reference to a weird rhyme from an old opera
@@elizabethd8109 in Phantom of the opera they perform Don Juan triumphant. What if they know about it from that? Is this a phantom and les mis crossover we didn't know we needed?🤣
I think it comes from the poem Don Juan by Lord Bryon. Amazing poem!
That always bothered me too 😂 but it might be because the original play was in French and I’ve always heard it pronounced incorrectly in French
I don't particularly care about the barricade boys in the same way a lot of the fandom does but the sheer exasperation in "Grantaire, put that bottle *down!*" is one of my favourite moments in the entire 25th anniversary show
"The barricade boys" lol I love it! And I love them, but I agree, that moment is just perfect. 😆
Ramin is a wonderful actor as well as singer!
Gavroche: General Lemarque is dead...
(Pause for laugh track)
Elnjolras: Lemarque is dead.
I love the way Enjolras says "grantaire put the bottle down!"
*DOWN!*
Great Line ever!
Ramin and Hadley talking about opera and Dom Juan is way too familiar...
Haha too right!

Right? 😂
So true
i thought the same.. at 1:40 my face Is just like😏🫠
This is the original "My Shot" from Hamilton. Les Miserables will always be my personal favorite.
Oh, this is WAY better than Hamilton. As much as I love Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton is not my cup of tea.
@@giggle_snort I agree. I thought it was ok but it doesn't reach my favorites list for musical theatre like Bare and Les Miserables.
Les Miserables and Hamilton are hard to compare, both are absolutely amazing

This is my favorite cast. Colm Wilkinson is beyond compare, but I think this cast gels well.
when i hear enjolras I like him he is my favorite character in Les Miserables 25th anniversary concert live at the 02
He out stages everyone.
Mmm, Ramin Karimloo... He is a gift to humankind.
I agree - Nick sounded good as Marius. But it cannot be denied that he in no way had the sustainability of Alfie.
Nick may not be perfect but i actually love how his soft voice contrast with the rest in this song specifically
im gonna go be 4 again and watch this on my dvd player eating unholy amounts of tictacs. call me if you need anything.

I know that people are iffy with Nick Jonas in this but I think this song fits him as Marius perfectly. I mean, he's just a boy after all
Willow Tree couldn’t agree more. Marius was just a boy in love and very naive. Nick sounds perfecly as a soft boy in love
Finally I encounter someone who has brains... I applaud you for your opinion.

A boy can still have a powerful voice. Exhibit A: Gavroche. That kid has some PIPES!! Nick Jonas, however, has a dollar-store recorder.
He doesn't have the voice that the other performers have, less power and a different technique. it makes him stand out way too much, and for me that is distracting
