Over the next 2 weekends, I have my (hopefully) last German test, a band concert, and my first ever 2 Turnfests (Swiss athletic competition). I think you'd find the competitions interesting, as my main event is a team bars (Stufenbarren) routine. Our current team comprises of 12 people, 6 men, 6 women, and we use 4 sets of bars at the same time, 2 parallel, 2 uneven. The uneven bars aren't the same as artistic gymnastics, they're actually just parallel bars set to different heights, so the set of moves is completely different, but it allows for a lot of cool tricks like shoulder stands on someone's knees or back, or cool balancing figures.
Hi Hannah! I’ve loved watching all your videos and it’s been great to watch you grow through the stages of becoming a professional dancer! I am soon going to start my professional career with a company in America and was wondering what your biggest advice would be for transition from a ballet school to a professional company! I’m mostly worried about proving myself:/
Ah! Congratulations!! You are going to be amazing! The main advice I can give is not to put too much pressure on yourself. It’s okay and normal to make mistakes. Don’t be afraid of them but embrace them as learning opportunities to move forwards. You are going to smash it!
what company are u going to? I'm planning on going to a dance company, but don't know were to lol and you said in America which is were I live so I'm curious!
Happy birthday, Hannah! 🥳 Thank you for taking the time to make a video updating us on your life and challenges. You are doing really well! You have the ability and desire to assess any aspect of your life, examine it, research to find out if there's any improvements you can make, and then make changes based on that. It may sound to you like that's not a big deal or that everybody can do that. I certainly believe almost everybody is capable of doing it but many people prefer to stay in the groove that they're in even when they're aware it is clearly not working well. You have learned so much in this past year and you should be very proud of yourself for how you have handled the very difficult situation of your surgery and recovery. You should also be proud of always keeping an open mind and learning from every situation that you're in by which I am referring specifically to touring, nutrition and hydration. Also, I'm so glad you're taking the time to relax and to switch off from ballet from time to time. You probably have noticed that you have more energy because of those breaks which are basically like recharging one's batteries. 👏👏👏 I wish you a very happy birthday, and all the best for this new year in your life! 🥳🎂🎈🎁
@@HannahMartinRG Oh, I’m sorry you’re having a rough time, but I’m glad if I can help out a little! Getting used to professional life after being a student is difficult in most careers for most people for 3 main reasons: The actual work, the workplace environment, and other people in the workplace. 1. The work: Your career is much more intense than most because your entire life has to be tailored towards keeping your body and mind as healthy and flexible as they can be. For example, young people in most careers (or university students) can take a two week holiday and just hang around eating and drinking, and they can go out partying on Friday and Saturday nights every week without it negatively influencing their work. 2. The workplace environment: There tend to be unwritten rules in each workplace, which are obvious to people who have been there for a while, but can be baffling to new employees. It’s often quite easy for a new worker to inadvertently break one of these rules, upsetting some people who think the new person did it on purpose. It would not be so bad if one of these people told the new person what he or she had done wrong, but usually they only talk about it to their friends behind the new person’s back. This is not only unhelpful, but can temporarily give the new person’s reputation a kick in the pants. The good news is that if the new person has good intentions, and is always honest, friendly, and able to take criticism and learn from it, the new person will earn the respect of others. 3. Other people at work: This includes coworkers, supervisors, executives who seem to have control over one’s career, support staff, and essential workers like cleaners without whom the work environment would collapse into unhygienic chaos. There are people of all different ages instead of only being with one’s birth-year age group in school. Some people can be very snobby and exclusionary to new employees. They tend to be insecure individuals who want to make it clear that they are “better“ than the new person. They like to form cliques, because being in a group makes them feel stronger. Strangely enough, sometimes the worst of these are people who have only been there six months or a year longer than the new person. Even stranger: In two separate workplaces, in completely different careers, I had the experience that after 2 years in each place, the clique-y group (one group was my age and the other had ages 20-45ish) not only started saying hi to me, but started inviting me to socialize with them after work and on weekends, and talked down about the newest employees, obviously inviting me to join them in their negativity. I was very polite, but was unable to accept their invitations as I “already had other plans” as these ladies had been unfriendly, untrustworthy rumour-spreaders so why would I want to be with them now? I definitely did not wish to antagonize them though, so I made sure that I actually did have other plans. I hope this information is helpful to you in some way! Keep in mind that you are a fantastic person who has already achieved so much, that you have a very tightknit family who loves you, and 94,000 subscribers who believe in you! ❤😎🙏🌼
