    When you mentioned Huell Howser it brought back all sorts of memories. Huell lived here in Nashville before moving on to California and he was well liked. I watched every episode of California Gold including the one you mentioned. Huell was a sweet spirit and I miss him very much. Thanks for the new series and thanks to Natalie for adding some fun to the mix.

      Huell was the best, and sort of a godfather to those on youtube showing us the wonderful history of CA landmarks.

    When I stopped at the one in Barstow an elderly man saw me taking photos indoors and he approached me and shook my hand and introduced himself. Turns out he was the founder of Del Taco ! Took a photo together.

    Each time I-40 traffic was visible in your videos, I was reminded of the many trips I made from Pennsylvania, through Memphis to the Bay Area and back again. Since I was a Road Warrior, chewing up the asphalt as fast as I could, I didn't have the opportunity to take a few hours and stray a couple miles off the beaten path and explore the sights as you do.

    Thank God you folks got back safely, but its soooo bummers the road trip is over😪 there seemed a weird "alone" vibe at the start of this trek, so it was nice that Natalie joined you. where were all the beautiful vibrant autumn colors on this journey? lol. I was there in 1964, was in high school. This first street location bore a lot of similarity to the building in Yermo. The food was absolutely legendary, something about their combination of ingredients and the spices was flat out the most satisfying food ever. The refried beans in a paper cup and topped with shred cheddar cheese, the taco burger was to die for, the meat burrito was awesome and the tacos were just irresistible. I moved away in 1973 and have never had as good a food since.

    • @davidbrainerd6539
      @davidbrainerd6539 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was also in Barstow then. Dad used to get tacos from Tao Tia before they became Del Taco! Was in the first high school class(1967) of John F . Kennedy High School. Moved away after graduation.

    • @garymcmullin2292
      @garymcmullin2292 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidbrainerd6539 I don't bring up a memory of the face but I do remember the name David Brainerd! It is a funny thing but many of my fondest memories of Barstow are oriented around the Taco Tia and later Del Taco. I moved away too, I miss a lot of what was then...but like they say...ya can't go back.

    Loved this video Adam the first Del Taco you showed I thought was quite interesting and I love the desert 🌵 and the shots you got of that building with the mountains in the background were amazing and the oldest Del Taco looked pretty nice it looked like the one around the corner from my house here in Torrance California now what you got looked good all the same stuff I like and you so-called burger 🍔 I’ve always known them to be called taco burgers and all it is is ground beef on a bun the same meat used in the taco but I must say I’m glad you enjoyed your food also I wanted to tell you if your interested in case you go to one again the double del hamburger 🍔 is excellent and I get it every time and the fish tacos they have are amazing that’s another thing I get when I go there basically what I’m trying to say Adam is that’s one great place to go now I was so happy to see you made it home safely and i glad you had such an amazing time on your adventure in Orlando and on your journey back home to good old Orange 🍊 County California and I must say its been such a pleasure going on this amazing road trip with you thanks so much I’ve had my fun in Orlando and I’ve learned so much on the way back home now I can’t wait to see what’s next and again thanks Adam and with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure also please be safe out there also Adam you make life that much better each day through your videos

    I have lived in SoCal my entire (long) life. I've been a huge fan of Huell Howser since the early eighties (miss him so much). I have learned about so many interesting places in my own home state through him, and have often wondered if Adam's work was influenced by him. I see similarities. Of course, I'm now a big fan of Adam The Woo as well.
    As was said, there are countless places to get tacos in California, and some are truly amazing. I wouldn't place Del Taco at the top. But when smothered with their "Del Scorcho" sauce they do make a tasty snack.

    I first visited in 1994 when it was called the Sidewinder. Interesting because it is near the location where I saw my only sidewinder rattlesnake as a kid in the mid-60s. Met General Bob there from the Huell Howser episode during the Route 66 75th anniversary Poker Run in 2001. Huell loved the area so much he bought a unique house nearby on top of a cindercone volcano. At least on our last visit we met the owner Andre Pruitt.

    I enjoy the videos, I don’t travel much so they help me to see America😃I also watch the Wonderhussy and noticed the same topics sometimes, it would be funny to photobomb each other’s videos 👍🏻

    I live in Newberry Springs. The Burger Den is closed on Sundays. The food is excellent. The awning out front was added in the late 90s.
