Been using Apple smart battery on my iPhone 6s for around 2 years. Gets me 2 days with ease. Recently got smart battery case for Xs. Amazing 2.5 days battery life. And most importantly it keeps the iPhone battery health in good shape.
thank you for stating that it’s 1378 x 2 cell battery power. most other reviewers are like ‘oh man 1378 mah (or whatever) for $129, not worth it’. Other than that, it’s a bit overpriced. Should be leather for that price and come in different colors.
I just got this for my XS. For 3 days of use I must say this is better than any power banks or the Mophie battery cases! I think it's more like the Smart Case becomes the primary battery, while the internal battery of the iPhone is on standby. From 7am to 6pm, this thing gives me some 4 hours of screen on time, before switching to the main battery. I'm sold on how on the internal battery won't be degrading as much since it's not constantly overcharging - of the case was, it will never last 10 to 12 hours of providing power despite medium use. I've seen TH-cam "tech reviewers" who misunderstood how it works. I'm just surprised Apple lacked in promoting this with its key feature of truly extending the power rather than as a charger.
I have this case for my 11 pro max. I charge both the case and the phone simultaneously and keep my phone in the case even when it’s at 100%. I’ve done this for a year and some now and my phone battery is at 98% battery health, never replaced the battery yet. I get roughly 4 whomping days out of this case integrated with my iPhone. Perfect purchase! And hardly uses any cycle counts! Which is what makes your battery health go down! The less cycle counts, the healthier your battery over time! I use 2 cycle counts in roughly 1 week to 8-9 days!
Doesn't this case damage the battery health of the phone? I know that iphones today when it's 100% they have toggle charge and doesn't overcharge but this is different, it charges 24/7, so will this be bad for the battery health if you use it for years?

Sara stone Yes! I love it. It took some getting used to because it’s a continuous charge - you can’t turn it on / off. But it definitely helps with not having to charge my phone as often. I probably charge up every other day and I’m on my phone aaaaall the time.

Nah, it won’t harm your battery as the Smart Battery Case has the built in integration to not “overcharge” your iPhone. You can safely use the case everyday.

It would be nice if someone released a USB-C smart battery case for the iPhone X/XS - with the iPad going USB-C and the iPhone department throwing that memo out of the window, it seems logical to have a USB-C connector outside of the battery case - at least an option for having one and then let the receipts tell Apple if this is where consumers want to go. The Apple ecosystem may be seamless on the software side but their attempts at connectivity on their Mac and "i" devices is anything but seamless.
So I thought the same thing. But I did some research on that topic. The phone battery degrades due to charge cycles. So when the phone is at 100%, drains to 0%, then you charge it to 100% again, that’s 1 full charge cycle. You drain the phone battery to 50%, then charge it to 100%, and then drain to 50% again, then charge to 100% again, that’s another charge cycle. There’s a lot of algorithm that goes on behind the scenes in the phone that determines the battery’s overall health. From what I read was that you want to keep the phone’s battery near 100% at all times to maintain the battery’s health. So the answer to your question is, no. This case will not damage your phone’s battery. Once the phone reaches 100%, the case is used as the primary power source until it is depleted. Then the phone’s battery is used until the case is charged again. If anything, this case will prolong the life your phone’s battery in the long run
It’s good to have a constant battery top up but not very effective for the iPhone built-in battery as i explained. Apple should try and create something with an on and off switch button for the battery case. If you dig into a bit of battery chemistry and understanding, I’m sure you will all relate or see the sense in what I’m saying. So you should think well before going for this battery case. Sometimes, it’s just Better to top up your battery when you want at your own time by just squeezing the tiny slim charger in your back pocket or getting a slim power bank for that matter. This case is mostly designed for busy workers, students etc and we all carry a small bag along sometimes. So doesn’t cause you anything to squeeze in a power bank or charger in your bag to be honest. That’s my opinion
I have the smart battery case and all I did was stick a metal plate on the back of the case covers the Apple logo no problem with me works fine I’ve had No problem with the phones performance

I believe the way it works is the iPhone will use the battery case’s juice before even touching the actual internal battery in the phone. Apple isn’t making an accessory that destroys their own phone, that would destroy their brand

I actually bought the XS Max battery case for my 8 Plus and it actually works. all the buttons work and the phone charges and I can use a wireless charger. the second camera and the flash is covered but whenever i need to take a portrait or use the flash, I can just fold down the top part of the case.

Not good at all cos one of the batteries In the couple ( the male or the battery case) is always draining out while the other (female or built-in iPhone battery) is always in constant charging mode and this creates a constant active chemical state of the receiving battery in terms of ions-charge gain. There is no probs for the battery giving out power, but the issue pointed out here is for the one receiving the charge ever time and you cannot control it other than taking off the battery case. That sucks tbh, not very confortable to always see my phone in constant charging mode in simple terms..☹️👨🏽⚖️

As a tech reviewer, you’re supposed to understand what you’re reviewing... the WHOLE point of the smart battery case, is so that the user doesn’t need to manage it. It tops off the phone, and if it dies you can take it off. It also smartly manages charging when high or low amounts of charge are given and the case or phone are at different percentages. Please do your research before reviewing a product.
I wasn’t aware it’s a 1369mah x2 capacity. All other reviews I’ve seen just mention it’s a total of 1369mah. Regardless I’ve very much enjoyed my case and the combined battery life lasts me 2 full days! Definitely recommend.
No it won’t. I had every smart battery case for my iPhones and I have every year a new iPhone and the battery capacity war lik 97% so its not damage the battery at all. Also I try to have my phone always at 100% and charge my case always

Aldo is correct. They’ve only made it for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6 which fits the 6S. Never for Plus models as stated in the video.

design wise, it's just the absolute worse, Mobie has the better design but function wise Apple wins.
The only thing this case is missing is a kickstand on the back side, so you can use it to prop your phone up when you are looking at videos.
