If they weren't in there, you'd be replacing it after a couple of days rather than weeks or even months ;) also... everything is made of chemicals - things like blood and water are chemicals, too!

I think these machines played a part in the population getting bigger - it's complicated but efficiency in food production was a factor in the world becoming overpopulated. The problem we face now, with things like climate change and the population growth, is growing enough food to get into the factories to feed everyone and many farmers are already facing difficulties with that.
The obsolete human being? Without the help of mankind how could these massive machines program themselves
And how would they maintain themselves?
People doing manual labor is outdated, but uneducated people don't know that only humans have modern machines like this.
