Because of her I always go back to see the series again her expression of the eyes shows how really into the role she is in this makes me see it for my 8th times
Zhou Xun is a fantastic actress. It must have been surreal to be in the palace, in the Forbidden City, playing a real person this way. As an American who knows very little about Chinese history, this was a fascinating series to watch, and beautiful as well. Every scene is just so lush and interesting.
most _guzhuang_ dramas are shot in Hengdian World Studios, which includes a replica of an idealized Forbidden City ("idealized" meaning for instance Yanxigong Palace is a façadist reconstruction, since the actual location is occupied by an unfinished European-style structure supposedly an aquarium)
@@user-ix1rp9ff3p Oooo I see! That makes much more sense than trying to film on location. I looked up the studio online, it looks pretty amazing. Thank you for the info, this is going to be a fun rabbit hole!
I like when all other dramas talk bad about this Step Empress, but this drama gives different pictures.. What about if the Step Empress was actually a good person, she just being a wife. It gives justice to the character.
This is by far my ALL TIME favorite drama. I have watched it so many times, but I always feel the emotions. You were magnificent as Ruyi. So elegant and graceful and wise and most of all kind.
A fabulous series. The cast and crew did such an amazing job and the fantastic sets and costumes are mind blowing. Zhou Xun is so exquisitely beautiful, with such a lovely voice. She really became Ruyi.
That’s what make this show a fascinating one to remember, is beside the clothes, or the storyline, but it’s the dynamics of the characters of who they are. So, it makes it interesting than any other shows that have done almost the same, but in the “what if” senecio. This is more the “If” she done everything she did, to be the voice of those who are fated, to be a certain idea of what their story could have been told.
I think to some degree, Empress Nala got her justice thanks to Zhou Xun. I think she got the last laugh despite the many accomplishments of Qianlong. The men of yesteryear are on their way out. I looked through some historical sources and my theory is that the real empress is a mix between the Yanxi Palace interpretation and Zhou Xun's interpretation.
The level of quality of the production, in all aspects, is beyond impressive. That it depicts amongst the most important, mysterious, alluring, sophisticated and dramatic settings in The History Of Man in such a skillful fashion secures the legacy of the series as one of the great intellectual, artistic, and technical achievements of The 21st Century.
Love this drama and so loved her in this role. I just hated the emperor for putting her through so much heartaches. She was the only one that truly loved the emperor from young till her death.
No dejo de ver capítulos de esta súper producción. Una obra de arte y está actriz tan hermosa y su papel tan fuerte y a la vez tan sereno. Felicidades!!

@@nursaaidah5907 "Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace" is the only known traditional Chinese drama to portray the Step Empress in a positive light
She deserves every award possible for her portrayal of Ruyi. Her eyes…you could see every emotion in her eyes.
I cry a river when Ruyi passed away which no any other series/ films could.
This is by far my ALL TIME favorite drama. I have watched it so many times, but I always feel the emotions. You were magnificent as Ruyi. So elegant and graceful and wise and most of all kind.
her voice is strong, but still cute.
and so wonderful to listen to❤

Its been nearly 3 years.... I always come back to Ruyi❤
one of my favourite actresses, she made me ugly cry at the end of Ruyi!
Zhou Xun has the most magical voice, I love listening to her speak. Without subtitle I’ve no idea what’s she’s say but I love listening.

She’s gorgeous ❤️
Zhou Xun acts excellently as Ruyi. I watched the series twice. Love the production. Greeting from Thailand.😊😊
I enjoyed every moment of her performance. Every word, every gesture seemed to me like the stitches in an exquisite embroidery.

Zhou Xun was AMAZING as Ruyi! I will definitely watch the TH-cam clips of this series again. She’s a beauty ❤❤

丟掉剪斷的頭髮的手指看起來好優雅❤
ROO-yah!!!! (That’s how the emperor always said it) 😂🤗 I would love to meet her IRL.
Thanks so very much for playing this role I have never watched any drama on my phone but this one.
Wish they would show how they did the hairstyles. I was fascinated with the complicated style of the hair
This story becsme so famous. Beautiful and highly well made.
It was a good series. I have seen it multiple times. Fan of her

This is by far my most favorite series!! Although I don’t understand anything being a Buddhist I can relate everything to it and the women in it…
i am buddhist too, but i'm not sure how that'd stop you from understanding anything in the drama...
for another new series you deserve a role of an empress dowager
I love her so much 🥹🫶🏽
