The Hyatt Hotel and the Diplomat have always fascinated me-both on the architectural and historical facets. Pero, I'll add my own kwento rin! HAHAHA. I used to study sa Baguio and we did this photoshoot for a class dati. I remember once the clock struck 5 PM, the guards started ushering everyone out (when we asked, sabi maglalabasan na daw "sila"), so we begged for a few minutes to change out of our costumes and wipe our MU off. Pumwesto kami sa isang room near the courtyard and kasama ko friend ko who's got increased sensitivity towards the supernatural. So, ayun, we were talking lowly to finalize our plans (dinner and whatsoever) and bigla siyang natahimik, I didn't think much about it since pagod na kaming lahat and the convo was over na rin. But, the moment we exited the main gates of Diplomat, she turned to me and said, "may nakatayo kanina sa likod mo". I WAS FLOORED. It wasn't my first time to visit the place, the design never fails to take my attention. I was too focused on looking at everything and posing for the shoot na I never got the chance to think about the stories. Until now, I can never get that sentence out of my mind. She clarified din na the entity that stood behind me didn't feel malevolent. Anyway, this was such a cool vid, sir! Missing my 2nd home more than ever. Hoping to see more historical sites reviewed in your channel.
Back in 2000 when we were doing our undergrad thesis, we passed by the Laperal House on foot at around 5 pm. Hindi ko pa alam na un ang Laperal House. I only found out its name when I saw the Jay Taruc docu, 15 years after. When we were just 100 meters away, I saw a middle-aged European looking lady on one of the 3rd floor windows. Hindi clear ang mukha niya pero she was wearing something akin to a sleeping gown. She was a bit chubby and I think attractive which made me blurt out to my female thesis partner, "May chicks sa 3rd floor." The frailties of youth. Lol. Also, while trying to locate the respondents to our thesis, we also stumbled upon the former area of the Hyatt Hotel. Pinasok namin ung lot and loitered through the grounds. Pero bago nangyari yun eh nagka eksena pa kasi ung isa sa mga female classmates namin (who is not into anything paranorrmal) suddenly started crying and was shaking. Ayaw niyang pumasok sa gate ng nasabing area. I think naiwan sila ng ilang mga teammates niya sa gate.

Funfact: Parts of our home at Baguio came from the materials of the ruined Pines hotel during the 1990 Baguio earthquake, wherein the SM City Baguio is situated. Also, 6 years prior to the earthquake, a fire struck the Pines Hotel, that took the lives of mostly U.S. Veterans. Going back to the aftermath of the earthquake, Baguio smelled for a month or more due to the corpses that are already undergoing the decomposition process, since they are at hard to retrieve areas or are still under huge debris that rescuers have trouble moving it or haven't checked them yet. (These are accounts of my Grandma and other family members who've experienced the devastating earthquake first-hand. They're all alive and well, including of course, my mum, which she was only at gradeschool during that time. The Baguio earthquake is also the reason why Baguio people that existed before the 90's are mentally scarred by the event up to now. Which is why even there's a little tremor, I see my relatives panic easily.)

They tried to cut the tree first, then namatay yung nag-cut. That's when they decided to do it the right way by doing a ritual. They butchered a chicken, and they burned the tree. They left the burned tree stump for a few weeks before they covered it with concrete...

Yeah meron po. I remember nagstay kami noon doon to attend seminar. Naexperience namin na sa cr ng room namin is bumubukas mag isa yung gripo yung ibang kasama namn po namin is may naririnig namn sila na footsteps

Umattend kami ng NRLYI sa Teacher's Camp, yung kaibigan ko may nakitang doppelganger nya. Isa pang delegate may nakitang pugot na attendee din ng NRYLI. Alam nyang attendee kasi same clothes, same body build. May naririnig din kung ano sa rooms.

we always pass through loakan road because it's our main route on the way to town but i have never noticed the tree? is it very noticeable?
@@vantae375 The tree was cut down I think more than 10-15 years ago because it was a road hazard daw but it was very noticeable as it was really at the middle of the road 😊
