- Sammy Lawrence is a strange character within Bendy and the Ink Machine, one with a very mysterious backstory. We know he worships the ink demon Bendy but we don't know exactly why. We know he went crazy while working at Joey Drew Studios but again we don't know exactly how. Until now. A new audio log from Sammy Lawrence has released on the Joey Drew Studios TH-cam channel and gives us new information to theorize on. So in today's Bendy and the Ink Machine theory we finally uncover the truth behind Sammy Lawrence...

1. Ink Bendy has a limp, and there is a wheelchair in the flashback belonging to Joey.
2. Everyone in the studio were once workers, and respected Joey. That would explain why everyone fears ink bendy.
3. Alice angel hates ink bendy, and when she was Susie Campbell, she ended up hating Joey.
4. Before the beast bendy boss fight, there is a Joey Drew audio log, and before the Bertram Piedmont boss fight there is a Bertram Piedmont audio log.

If Sammy agreed with Henry’s work philosophy so much that altered a Bendy mask, why would he sacrifice him to Bendy? Was Sammy really that insane? Or was he unaware that Henry had come back to the studio and didn’t recognize him as Henry?

It's been 30 years, it took a while for Sammy to recognise him - and given his history, Bendy is vastly more important to him than whoever the 'little sheep' is, so it's probably just the speed of the events that made him continue. Even if Sammy remembered and made the connection to Henry being the designer of Bendy before 'that smile', it's unlikely he would've saved him anyway.

The hitman theory makes sense to me. Allison Angel said that Sammy kept The Lost Ones at bay. And, as well all know, he is super fit and looks more taken care of than the other ink workers. This can explain that Joey was giving Sammy special treatment. Or, Bendy was? Anyways, Sammy seemed to be in control of the situation, versus these sad ink workers.

The scene you mention at 9:28 has had me thinking for a while... why did Sammy think that Henry was the one that told him he'd be set free? It may just be me, but It seems like during the fight in Ch 5, Sammys talking to Henry as if HE was Bendy, blaming HIM for everything that's happened....
For me, it kind of solidifies one of your previous theories that Henry is an ink Bendy.

Well, I don't think that he's an INK Bendy, nor a PERFECT one. Just a regular Bendy.
That's sure a lot to take in.
I always thought Sammy would be the kind of person who'd see writing music for a children's show to be something beneath him, but how you described him as a passionate artist who just couldn't be proud of his work that was rushed to meet Joey's demands makes more sense.
And I'm not sure if he was ever in a real relationship with Susie. It's obvious she liked him, but I kinda feel like he would see that as an annoyance. Remember Susie/Alice also said in Chapter 3 "he was always a good liar".
I also never realized that the shape of the hole in Sammy's mask is the smile of the original Bendy design, that is awesome.
I believe Susie was just self entitled and thought she could have anyone she wanted. So when she started hitting on Sammy he’d playfully flirt back but kept the relationship mainly professional. But she wanted more and felt betrayed by him when he was with Allison in the recording booth. So I believe they flirted back and forth but there was no true romance

I honestly thought that maybe Henry and Sammy were friends during the days Henry worked at the studio. After all, I'm certain during the little time they spend in the breakroom on the top floor, the two probably sat together and maybe even played darts and aired out their frustrations a bit.
Would it somewhat explain why Sammy watched Henry for so long before attacking and trying to sacrifice him to Bendy? Perhaps there was a friendship bond that momentarily made Sammy hesitate?
Honestly, I'm impressed with the amount of work put into this theory, especially when it just ended up getting disproved later by the book, which revealed that it was just because of the ink (which is probably possessed by the true Bendy) that got in Sammy's mouth when a pipe ruptured above him, which then pretty much brainwashed him into believing that Bendy was pretty much the Lord and Savior, and also convinced him to drink large amounts of ink. Without any film to take pictures from and imputing itself upon, the ink in Sammy just stayed there, eventually turning him into an ink version of himself, unlike the Lost Ones and Searchers, who were just failed versions of other characters.

Here's my theory: There's no Sammy coffin. But I think when Ink Bendy killed him, Sammy must have turned into an ink puddle. I think Ink Bendy wanted to go after Henry and didn't want Sammy to go after him. Maybe that's why Sammy's plan became backfired. Bendy must have killed Sammy so he can after Henry. But if you read the books, Bendy takes Sammy's sacrifices. But when Ink Bendy didn't take Henry, instead, he took Sammy instead. That's when we go to the Sammy boss fight. Sammy lost it. He had enough with the inky body and permanent prison, but most importantly............................. he had ENOUGH with Bendy. But his vision was blurry. So he couldn't see. So that's why he thought Henry was Bendy.

One thing I'm curious about that we haven't touched on yet: Susie/Angel says that he (Sammy) USED to be a good looking man. Does she mean compared to his ink form now? Or could she mean something else? Could Sammy's impossible workload have put so much of a strain on him that his literal appearance changed BEFORE Joey sacrificed him to the ink?
Unlike the other main characters, Sammy doesn't look like Joey attempted to make him into any of the animated characters. Sammy looks more like a King of The Creepers than an actual Bendy cartoon character.
It looks like Boris's overalls began to form on Sammy, but then something happened to stop completion of the transformation to a Boris so Sammy just stayed as Sammy.
It's just weird how he has the overalls.
I think the "something is wrong with that smile" and "little devil" comments are referring to Joey Drew.

I feel like Sammy & Henry use to be friends before Henry left. Like he truly liked the version Henry made before Joey had him redesign Bendy & wanted to make songs base on that friendly dancing demon. But cause of Joey, anything happy & fun for them, was turn to torture for Joey’s vision of Bendy and his songs that didn’t have Alice angel in them to make them crack. Joey goes for hurting them psychologically while making Sammy & his other workers do all the work & give in to Joey’s manipulation.

Just to clear anything up Sammy Laurence wasn't consumed by the ink to worship bendy in his experiments.
In the novel dreams come to life he accidentally consumed the ink during a pipe leakage and began he began consuming more in some sort of strange addiction and now takes the form he does now
yeah, he also wasn't such a rude person either. stress has built on him over the years, and I can imagine having a ink machine coming in and making messes everywhere.
He worshipped Bendy because the ink, cursed by black magic drove him insane. Like everyone else in the studio, he knew how powerful Ink Bendy was and assumed he had the power to expunge the ink that transformed him into a monster. It's not that complicated.

Now I feel bad for sammy because:

2.joey used him to do his inky work
Honestly, if a bunch of lost humans with no memory were trapped in a place full of images of a creature that seems to be pretty powerful, they are bound to see it as a god.
I don't think Bendy could have saved Sammy in any way, that's just something he chose to believe.

Sammy is counting on bendy like the lost ones when you see the place where bendy pops up on the board you see a lost one banging his head.
Sammy says at the end of his log that someone's gotta keep that grinning demon happy. His mind would be filled with images of
Bendy and his damned smile until the time the ink machine was developed. Time skip, the Ink Demon is created. Time skip, any and all workers have either died, been turned into ink creatures, or presumably escaped. Sammy, after all this, is still either making or listening to songs produced for and only for Bendy. He's gone fully insane by now, and grown into the Sammy we know today, the Sammy in-game. I can only assume he's still doing all this because he's seen Bendy, the soulless husk, murder so many people and creatures, that he worships him to keep himself alive. And now that the ink demon that used to only exist in this thoughts is REAL, he actually feels the need to keep producing songs for Bendy to, like I said, keep that grinning demon happy. He worships, but out of fear. That's just what I think, anyway.
Edit: Not to mention, Sammy HIMSELF turned into an ink creature. Another reason that Sammy might be doing all this is because he doesn't want anything worse happening to him. Not to mention, he's said himself in-game that he wants to be freed from his body. He doesn't want to die, and thinks he'll be freed from his body if he does enough work. Those might be other reasons he worships out of fear.

Fun Fact, it was 1935. So even if people hated their jobs at Joey Drew Studios so much that they would quit, they wouldn't have much of a choice, because in the 30's there was the Great Depression so Joey Drew might have been their only option.
I think sammy is one of the lost ones in chapter 4 and when i saw chapter 4 in the library the lost ones were on a stage and a statue of bendy and when sammy said he will set us free that phrase was also on the stage so maybe sammy has a connection on the lost ones remember you said so he will get out of his inky prison in chapter 4 the lost ones were in an inky prison.

Maybe we will get to see what Henry looks like in the new Bendy game.
Here is how it could happen:
1) The first part of the game occurs before he left.
2) An opening cutscene that occurs before or when he left.
3) There could be a picture of him found in the studio that Joey took home with him when it closed or that was in an inaccessible area that was in the first game.
4) There is an old video recording of him.
5) Flash backs.

I haven't played Dark Revival but I've watched playthroughs.
In the book Dreams Come to Life an ink pipe bursts on Sammy and he accidentally consumes some ink. The ink then starts one of infecting him and he becomes addicted to the ink and the ink then starts talking to him telling him he has to worship Bendy.
What do you think the ink tastes like?

I think when his workload made his other side of his mind crazy, Susie breaking up with him and his personal life affected his other side and I think when he gets back to work I think he thinks about
Susie but when they broke up, he became so crazy that he sees Bendy in his sleep, could mean that in his sanctuary, those whispers and his workload made him meet Bendy and I think Bendy might have said," Sammy, you don't need Susie or Joey. All you got is me. You know you wouldn't betray your Lord. And I think Sammy accepted that and Bendy helped him.

@@sandtastesbad1 You have to remember though, they are made of ink and trapped in a cartoon reality. Allison even mentions in chapter 5 that food was hard to come by. Why would any of the characters be fat if there was only one food source in a place where you were in constant danger?
