Blood of Youth is #1 and Mysterious Lotus casebook #2 for me…both have good actors, and good scripts but Blood of Youth is fast-paced and has no boring episodes that’s why it's #1 on my list.
I enjoyed them both. However, in blood o youth they used much older actors. Older actors gave better performances for the demanding roles but how can someone who is over 30 pass for 15. There were two actors who were 32 at the time. The other cast members were between 24-29. Still older than the teens they were portraying. I don't think this is so much the actors fault but it probably is a problem with finding good actors the right ages. Maybe it was a problem with the script expecting characters to be so mature at those ages.
@imafan26 some 17 year old actors look more mature on screen than 38 year olds. It works for me, especially those short actors with cute faces look young for a very long time.
@@tomjones2157 Actually there are some very good young actors but they don't have a name to draw viewers. Wan Xing Yue is a very good actor for someone who is only 22 years old. In the roles I have seen him in he is the youngest actor usually playing the oldest son. He just doesn't often get roles that showcase his ability well. You are right some actors do retain their youthful looks for a long time. But it is hard for a 30 year old to play a teen. Thankfully, there are more roles now for characters who are at least close to 30 not 18. In Journey to love Liu Shi Shi is playing a character who is almost 30, in actuality she is 37. Liu Yunning character said his youth left him long ago. He is 34. I actually prefer the acting of seasoned actors who have really worked on learning their trade. There are some popular actors who are older, but have more name recognition who really have not improved at all.
Mysterious lotus casebook and the blood of youth are the best in this list, but a journey to love beats out most of these dramas. If only people didn't start boycotting this drama because they thought the ml was ugly (which by the way, he's not. He's really hot just look him up) this drama would be somewhere near the top of this list.

It's not about how ML looks. It's about an unnecessarily disastrous ending! 😮💨 IMO, If "The Journey to Love" ends by episode 34, the Douban score will be higher.
Yet the best drama ever exist is not here till the end of the moon, which is most rating 2023😢😢😢 must be watched in 2024 such interesting journey cannot be missed out.

One episode left of Blood of Youth and I will miss it terribly--I hope season 2--with all the original cast--works out. Under the Microscope was brilliant and fascinating for its unconventional story and capable acting.
'Loving how low-budget Unchained Love is in this list of mostly high-budget dramas. It has a unique story and characters, with a heart-tugging message about how real love seeks the beloved's survival, freedom and happiness above other considerations. Dylan Wang is superb in this. His fighting scenes are quite impressive.
The Kunning PALACE is the best!! It will go down in history! This is the Only Chinese Historical Time Travel that is world-class! Number 2 is Goblin of Gong Yoo from South Korea and number 3 spot is Tales of Nine-Tailed Fox of Lee Dong Wuk South Korea!

I absolutely love these fantasy Chinese dramas. I am obsessed with the clothing, jewelry, settings and plots - can't get enough. Will be on the look out for these dramas highlighted. I do find sometimes the male lead is not masculine enough looking for me, maybe its a cultural thing, or the youth of the actor.
Thanks for posting this. I've seen all of them except Under the Microscope, Ripe Town, and An Ancient Love Song. Now I have more dramas to watch! Out of the ones I've seen "Lost You Forever" Season 1 is by far my favorite! I've watched it three times - it's so good.
I just loved Unchained Love and the build-up of trust and romance between the leads. Peter Ho was properly nasty. The Story of Kunning Palace was very complicated and yet satisfying. Did not stick with The Starry Love. The Ingineous One was full of intrigue and not much romance between leads, luckily the second leads made up for this. Great acting of all characters in Under the Microscope. The best thing about Lost You Forever was Yang Zi's cross-dressing role at the begining of the drama, later it's hard to choose between her admirers charms. Passed on The Blood of Youth and got confused by the back and forth of Ripe Town. Mysterious Lotus Casebook had captivating plots, characters and an adorable dog. Could not get my head around the time sequences of An Ancient Love Song and did not find the leads compelling enough to try harder. Good reviews though.

Are you sure we were watching the same thing? ( The Story of Kunning Palace, Unchained Love) I guess I saw things differently. The plots were predictable, the chemistry and development of the relationship between the main leads was lacking, and the supporting actors were better than the main leads. Dylan needs a good director to get the best out of him (Love between Fairy and Devil), Yukee Chen is not a bad actress but she just is missing something in every role she has played that just makes it hard to really care for her character. The other dramas were better, but still had flaws.
Lotus Casebook was way too good. Hard to top that drama. It wasn't your typical gaggy romance drama that gives you brainrot. The acting was superb, the story was heartbreaking and the bromance...was... 100%. Loved it.

the issue with the ingenious one is that he spent 15 years with a master and only has 1 skill? I love the martial arts but I couldn't keep watching it made no sense to me that he only had one skill, so I got board and stop watching n never went back. On the other hand I watched Kunning Palace [hot chemistry you can feel the lust between the lead actors] and Starry Love many times, both dramas are among the best top 10 dramas for 2023. Lost You 'Forever was to cruel for me. I just hated seeing her beaten and bitten by that general it turns me off. However, my sister loves Lost You Forever she doesn't mine the abuse of women stomping them to they bleed, no thanks. I like everything you picked except Lost You Forever. Douban rating are not legit. It’s a place of haters antis and water armies. They give low ratings to drama that seems to be a threat to their fave drama. Haha
Aside from haters, there are netizens who blackmail studios and if studios don't pay up, their dramas and actors are blackened. Thus, high Douban ratings have become for sale. There's no way to tell whether a drama's high rating is because it's really good or because the studio paid blackmailers off not to blacken their drama and actors. Similarly, when a drama has low ratings, it could mean it was attacked by haters and/or blackmailers who did not get paid NOT to attack the drama.

The drama Mysterious Lotus casebook and blood of youth provide a hidden identity for MC, the hidden identity of a great warrior😂. The warrior disguised as a healer, and the other as an innkeeper. And the funny thing is I realized that both MCs were fighting for the death of important people in their lives😂
Blood of youth was kind of boring for me ,it is more concentrated on the 2nd lead ..mysterious lotus casebook was very good at first but the last episodes were kinda weird with the ending.. story of kunning palace was very interesting in the other hand , i believe it deserves a better rating..
