I agree with you for the most part! I did like that short Channel jacket and I can appreciate the long coat that was done in a brocade. I think the shaping/design lines for that were lovely!

V1985 the blouse, I actually like it. It’s different and I think with some imagination and choice fabrics, I can see this looking stunning. For the most part, I actually like most of designs. Depending on the fabric material and colors, I see potential. I do really like how through you went through the look book and pointed out things that needed pointed out. I think this year, I feel challenged to make several outfits.

Cruella vibes? Regulation length? Joanne fleece? My husband keeps wondering what I'm laughing at in my sewing room. Thanks for the laughs, Lindsey! 😂

I do love the Rachel Comey design. The RTW version is called the Drill jumpsuit and it isn't super oversized. And the buckle is easy to source.

I really love the red coat with the bow. I'm surprised to see so many formal business clothes they are showing. It's my impression that business attire has gotten much more casual in recent years so not sure if there are many people wearing Chanel suits anymore.

The side wrap vintage Vogue sleeveless dress and the culottes are patterns that intrigue me. I really appreciate your review!

Slim pickings!!!!! The bias skirt is gorgeous. The short Chanel style jacket would be fun in denim xxx

Would you do a demo on the back and crotch fit that you talked about. Maybe you already have a good video about it. It doesn’t make sense to remove fabric when you have a wedgy 🤨Love and look forward to your videos😘

The evening gown with integral cape has been worn by most of the crown heads of Europe, as well as Meghan Markle and Melania Trump. It looks stunning on all of them, all ages. It's great for the right event, such as a wedding or formal party. It is both elegant and dignified.

I absolutely loved what Melanie wore in the inaugural parade, it was perfect. It is very unfortunate that the political climate refused to give any credit to her many excellent fashion choices. I could not really wear the dress design, I am nearly always too warm. But I loved how it was designed.

  • @myreadingisodd

Actually all of these are incredibly in style right now. A lot of mixed matched textures and shapes because more and more people are thrifting exact shapes. I feel like this is an homage to the maximalist aesthetic.

    • @myreadingisodd

Especially the wraps. The ruffles one could be made in shades of pink and look super *lady like* which would be hilariously fun

I want a shoulderless Canadian Tuxedo now. (But honestly, I love it in the red. I would wear it in the red if I wouldn't overflow it in every direction.)

I actually like Vogue V1983. It speaks to my true core. I love my modesty especially when I paired it with my black leather jacket 😊. Only I would still insist on installing deep generous pockets 😊. Maybe I should buy that pattern some time in the near future along with some fabric 😊.

nope, you don't have your mean hat on. Often I feellike you are too forgivig, but today you are right on the mark. I have fallen for the red coat V1990 and may give that a go.

Usually the Vogue patterns trigger my imagination for my alternative universe. Not this release. So many looked like costumes rather then a well dressed woman. The cropped pants failed to match plaids in the back.

V1980 could maybe be cute in a stretch lace or rayon print.

I agree! I was one who was disappointed in the Marcy Tilton pattern. You could always count on her for unique seam details and multiple fabrics in one pattern. 😕

I think the fabric “faile” is pronounced “file” and not “fail”

    @liana2136 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

I agree... not much here of interest. I do sort of like Marcy's pattern. I don't usually buy hers because I don't have patience for the complicated details, but this one looks quite easy. It's a little different from other kimono patterns I own, because the band doesn't go down to the hem, and the asymmetric tie is a bit different. I will probably pick it up, not that I need any new patterns! 😅

21:33 What fresh hell is this atrocity. Who is the editor at the magazine? This just broke me. Vogue used to be my go to for quality and design. I can understand giving the upcoming young people a chance. But this edition left a LOT to be desired.
Only good ones are the vintage patterns, I love vintage patterns. They will see me through these squalid offerings. Et tu Marci Tilton?

I can see me tromping through the Montana snow in that skirt with a train. 😂 This collection is not my style and it’s why I prefer indie patterns

    • @missdemeanor3524

A skirt with a train would be ridiculous enough, but release it just in time for winter and it's like just NAH.

The Badgley Mischka dress, the cape dress and the red bow coat are the only designs that read as "luxe" imo. If you're going to call your collection "The Luxe Collection" it had better fit the models immaculately, the plaids had better match and you should have used designers who specialize in luxe, like Claire Schaefer.
Vogue didn't need to remake the chanel tweed jacket/skirt/trousers wheel when Claire Schaefer already did that by dissecting a real actual Chanel jacket and then showing us how to replicate it in ber patterns. Remember the hand quilting for warmth and structure on the inside, the hand stitching on the lapels to make them roll just right and the hidden chain around the hem to make it hang nice on the body?!? Pepperridge farm remembers. That's LUXE. Silk lined pants are luxe. These pants in this collection aren't lined... they're just pants. Low rise, wide leg pants to look extra stumpy just in time for the holidays.
Speaking of which, a skirt with a train in the winter - dear god WHY. Dollars to donuts Vogue is ruled by 20 year-old gay men who fetishize Ivana Trump. SHE would have worn that giant pointy red wrap to Target.
Then there's that Rachel Comey denim boiler suit because nothing says luxe like a denim boiler suit. I'm not crazy about it, but I've already committed to drinking the Rachel Comey Koolaid so bottoms up!
That weird blouse is going home with me because I've got a soft spot for truly weird patterns. This blouse looked like something AI would generate.
Thanks for bringing it home, Lindsey!
