Thank you to all my Patrons!
You have to see these women live. I saw them in Chicago. They blew the roof off!!!
Now this is really cool. I just shared this with my K-pop crazy daughter and she loves it.
AleXa just pulling Jennie's rap part like a boss, and Jayoung's vocals are perfect for rock. (Not gonna lie, though, I started following RQ when I first saw Yeongeun on the drums.) I love RQ and AleXa is great ... so when this came out (their 2nd collab), it was just a pure gold moment
This band got a big boost from Japanese band BRATS sisters Rei and Aya Kuromiya when they featured RQ on two of their livestreams featuring all female bands from around Asia several years ago (they were pretty much still doing covers only at the time). The vocalist and drummer went to school together and eventually formed a band called ROSE QUARTZ, then came the blue haired guitarist after several lineup changes. Bassist and red haired guitarist were in a band called ROLLING GIRLZ and put out a bunch of cover videos with several different singers and drummers; upon the two bands meeting and frustrated with not being able to keep various members, they joined forces to become ROLLING QUARTZ and have been kicking ass ever since!
I am happy to say I saw this song played livce in Toronto. They knocxked it out of the park. They are awesome live.
Hi Wave, thanks for checking out this pretty unusual ‘colab’ cover of a Blackpink / BTS mash. I honestly enjoyed your reaction, you did like that performance (I hope…). I used to play in a rock band long time ago and in my mind still a ‘band’ especially a rock band, not a ‘group’ is the real stuff. Also these girls always deliver, I love them. I watched their live performances, unfortunately only on TH-cam, they are awesome. If they ever come to Australia, even if they would do only one show in Perth, (I live in Sydney, more than 2000 miles away) I’ll be the first to buy tickets. Thanks again for your reaction. Cheers, Z
Thanks for sharing it! This was the perfect rockification of pop music to me!
I love your “rockification” of pop music!!@@WavePotter
AleXa is an "ascended fan". She started out doing kpop dance covers on social media, and now is a debuted solo idol of 3 year's standing She won a couple of TH-cam contest shows, and when the show producers declined to pick her up, the music video producer ZanyBros _created their own music division specifically to sign her._ She is their first and so far only artist. Her original concept was A.I., and her first videos are best watched in order, they have an ongoing (but still unresolved) storyline. She previously collab'd with RQ on the rock version of her song "Xtra", worth reacting to. Diving into AleXa? At minimum, watch "Bomb", "Do Or Die", and "Revolution" in that order. Time for 4? Shoehorn "Villian" between the last two. Most of her later videos refer back to the concept ("Tattoo", "Vogue", "Xtra" ft. KARD's BM, ballad "Never Let You Go"). Her few non-AI songs ("Kitty Run", "Obsession", "MBTI" ft. Just B, etc.) are really fun.
👍👍They are so talented. 🖖❤
I found the video enjoyable, I imagine someone like Champ, that is knowledgeable about the original K-pop songs, would get much more enjoyment from it.
