- This is just the tutorial section out of my most recent experiments with casting my own silicone wheels

I do a similar process, but I use a 2 part mold making silicone. You just need to mix the two parts, then I use a large syringe to inject it into the wheel molds. It tends to be a bit less messy than pressing it into the mold.
I already watched the other video, but I'll still watch this, even though I don't have any wheels to make...
That was a wheely good video.
No mold release to stop the silicone sticking? Or it doesn't stick to PLA very well?
I'm gonna try this - only difference is I'll add glitter.
silicone doesnt stick to most things, I've done it with and without mold release and found no difference so stopped using mold release.
This does mean even if you put holes and things into the wheel for the silicone to grab you need to glue it down. the red and black cheap nasty super glue from bunnings is the best thing I've found to stick silicone to PLA/ABS/TPU
Ok, I'll use some super glue - I might go fancy and use some loctite 406 though, it bonds to PLA/ABS better than regular super glue.
It probably wont work on silicone, the cheap nasty stuff from bunnings is the best stuff I've found
If you do try it and it works, let me know
hey boss, are the source files available, I have a bigger robot i would like to make these wheels for :)
Sorry no, the CAD software I use is no longer available and it only really exports stls well
This has a Bob Ross vibe to it
