This Diorama is a tribute to the Moors and Christians Festivals of Torrent (festes de Moros i cristians de Torrent), it represents the entrance of Moors and Christians that is celebrated in Fiestas
The "Entrance" is the most important and spectacular act of those included in the Moors and Christians festivals celebrated in numerous towns, especially in the Valencian Community. The "Entrance" stages the parade of Moorish and Christian troops into battle in times of the Christian Reconquest. For this reason, generally, the “Entrance” takes place on the first day of the festivities in most towns. In these parades the festive positions (captains, ensigns ...) occupy a prominent place, which, following a pre-established turn, represent the different groups that make up the party (comparsas or filaes). These groups take to the streets in their best clothes, incorporating special elements such as ballets, fighting shows, animals, etc ... (pageantries), in addition to the usual squads, which is the common way of organizing the parade.
In the case of the Torrent Festivities, the distinguishing feature is that the “Entrance” is held at the end of the festival program, thus becoming the most anticipated moment, especially when passing by the Tower in the Plaza Mayor , symbol of the city and object of desire of both sides.
