Yeah I’m not sure that people who are not musicians truly understand some stuff. Like The Jimi Hendrix Experience ... It was. 3 piece band. EVERY SINGLE person is the most important person in the band. There isn’t really any way to overstate the importance of each part. It’s just a fundamental fact. Obviously Jimi was a once in a lifetime cat but I don’t think he could have grown into it without THAT rhythm section!! Jimi included!! He was an INCREDIBLE rhythm cat and I don’t think he gets enough credit for that part.

Redding was ALWAYS the WEAK LINK.

Jimi was born with curly hair.
How could you think so simplistically???
The best thing is that Hendrix never wanted him back because ...

Actually Buddy Miles is just as good...in his own way.
He could do what's Mitch could not do.. keep a steady groove underneath a song. He was a much stronger pocket drummer than Mitch and Jimmy needed both in the latter parts of his career that's why he used them both.
I knew... That was absolutely no competition between the two of them.

Loved the "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" when I first heard their 1st album "Are you Experinced" in 1967!!!🥰👍The guitar, bass and drumming were all phenomenal. I still get a rush to the tunes on this album such as, "Manic Depression", "Fire", "Foxy Lady", "Third Stone From The Sun", etc.😎👍
"The Band Of Gypsies" album with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles was another phenomenal group Jimi put together!!!🥰👍"Machine Gun", "Who Knows" and "Changes" really kick ass, especially considering it's a "live" album!!!😎👍

noticed that too. He also says Mitchell. Could be a regional brit affectation to use last names. Noel's bitterness more to do with how they were run into the ground while the money was squirreled away. This interview is sometime after Noel gave up on chasing deserved income for himself and Mitch. But he knows he was a good part of one of the best bands ever. Noel's energy was fab, listened to the ferocious walking bass in 6 was 9. Noel and Mitch added some brit pop.

I bought and read Noel’s book. Jimi, Noel, and Mitch worked hard and received little compensation. Why Charles Chandler hooked them up with thief Michael Jeffrey, I don’t know. Was he the only manager Chas knew in the business? Michael Jeffrey totally screwed the Animals. He manipulated Price, the organ player with copyrights to House of the Rising Sun. Price got the money, inflated head, left the group. Michael Jeffrey , I think, took out a $2 million dollar life insurance policy on Jimi, since Jimi was going to dump Jeffrey as manager. Then, I believe, Jeffrey had Jimi murdered and collected the insurance money. About 2 or 3 years later, Michael Jeffrey died in an airplane crash. Monika, I believe, was manipulated. In the early 1990’s, she was driving to a meeting to come clean with what really happened. I believe she was murdered on the way to the meeting. Mitch and Noel are dead now. So, is Buddy. At least we have their wonderful recordings to appreciate. Besides guitar playing, performing, and singing, I really loved Jimi as a song writer. He wrote wonderful instrument pieces, and his words were meaningful. Al Hendrix- I bought and read his book, a good guy. Janie Hendrix is evil. She has been terrible about the money, even cutting Jimi’s flesh and blood brother out of any inheritance. Janie claims to be a Christian, since she tried to make and publish a Christian music album, which flopped. Janie has Korean blood, no Negro blood. She met Jimi perhaps twice in her life, when she was very young, for about 10 minutes each time. What do you expect with women and money- nothing good can become of it!

      I don't think you understand.
Jimi never tried or wanted to "duplicate" the Experience.
He was done with that sound.
He NEVER tries to hire Noel back because he got a REAL bass player.
I saw Hendrix 3 times..twice with Noel and he sounded AWFUL.
      Fuzzy Noodling
He was by far the weakest member and the weakest bass player of his generation.
Not in the same league as Jack Bruce or John Paul Jones or John Entwhistle.
To be fair to him..he was there and did y on a lot of great songs...but you can clearly tell when it Hendrix playing bass...particularly on Axis and Electric Ladyland.
When Hendrix changed direction Redding was lost.
      He had NO GROOVE..
      NO POCKET.
I was good friends with Mitch in the 70s and he said they made up the hair story and that it was Chas Chandler who chose Noel.
I believe that because coming from America Hendrix was used to much more SOLID bass players...not frustrated guitarists.
