FAQs
Q1) What is Flashpoint?
A1) It is a webgame preservation project by BlueMaxima that aims to collect as many web browser games and animations as possible before they are lost forever due to the phasing out of programs such as Shockwave Player and eventually, Flash Player.
Q2) How can I help?
A2) There are several ways, the most common being:
a. Spread the word to get more people to help contribute to the project
b. Search and curate requested games by others, which if successful, will result in the game being added to Flashpoint.
c. Testing games which have/haven’t been added to Flashpoint and report any bugs/missing files
You can visit their Discord page via the link from bluemaxima.org... if you have any questions. That website also contains other useful links, such as the Game Master List, which states the existing games in Flashpoint so far and upcoming ones.
The Game Request List states all the requested games others have put up so far. You can download the Flashpoint program itself as well if you just want to play the games too.
Game Master List: bluemaxima.org/...
Game Request List: docs.google.co...
Flashpoint Download: bluemaxima.org/...
Q3) What do you mean by “curate”?
A3) In short, it means you find a website that contains the game/animation and download the relevant files (e.g. dcr files for Shockwave games & swf files for Flash games). These will be opened with a Flashpoint program such as Flashpoint Core to test whether the game/animation works.
If they work, several files such as gameplay screenshots, text file containing the launch commands etc. are required to be placed into a ZIP file and uploaded to the relevant section of the Discord page, where they will be vetted by the experienced team there, and if successful, will be added to the newer Flashpoint version.
If you wish to help curate games, pls watch this video first in the link below, which will teach you how to curate the games you’ve found before submitting them for approval. Again, if you are still unsure, the folks at Discord will be able to help you!
Curation Guide: • Flashpoint Shockwave C...
Q4) According to the Game Master List, this game should be in Flashpoint but I can’t find it!
A4) If you’ve downloaded Flashpoint Infinity, take note that it doesn’t contain all the games in the Game Master List. For example, if the game you’re looking for is a Shockwave game: at the main screen of the program, you will see a section called “Upgrades”. Click the download button for “Other technologies”. For Flashpoint Infinity 6.1, it is about 900 MB. Once that is done, restart the program and the Shockwave games will appear.
Q5) I want to play this game, but it’s neither in Flashpoint nor the Game Master List!
A5) This means that game has not been added to Flashpoint yet. If there are games you want to be in Flashpoint, you can either wait for it to appear in later versions, or put up a request using the link in Q2. Note that to edit the Google Doc file, you need to request permission first.
Even if you have been granted editing privileges, pls check whether the game you want has already been requested before. Do not search by the specific name only. For example, if you are looking for the game “Scooby-Doo: Horror of the High Seas Episode 1 - The Ghost Pirate Attacks!”, try searching “Scooby Doo”, “Scooby-Doo”, “Ghost Pirate” etc.
This is because some game websites name them differently (e.g. Tom and Jerry: Food Fight is aka Tom and Jerry: Food Free-For-All). Curators who tested the games may also name them differently (e.g. the Scooby-Doo game mentioned above was named as “Scooby Doo Ghost Ship Episode One”).
Q6) Hey, this game isn’t from the Cartoon Network websites!
A6) Though some games came from other websites (e.g. some Scooby-Doo games originated from Warner Bros website), the cartoon characters in these games have appeared in Cartoon Network before, and are therefore included.
If you have more questions, check out Flashpoint’s FAQ page: bluemaxima.org/...
Oh ya, forgot to mention that when playing their quiz (5:56), there are 8 possible questions, of which you need to answer 3 correctly before you are free. Here are the 8 questions, note that the answer is YES to all of them except question 5. Answering them wrongly will just lead them to ask you any of these 8 questions until you get 3 correct.
1) Are you a dog?
2) Did the poltergeist in your attic try on a Santa hat?
3) Do you want to go home now?
4) Is the sky blue?
5) Do you like to eat cheese?
6) Did you buy an electric can opening from “Electro-Shack”?
7) Should Eustace be nicer to you?
8) Is the answer to this question YES?
And don't forget about the secret codes I mentioned before!! Very useful information about this pretty recent discovery as well as screenshots can be found on The Cutting Room Floor website!
I remember loving this one. Honestly, as far as cheap Flash games go, this one was really far ahead of its time graphically. Almost like one of those faux-retro indie games that are big nowadays.
This is actually a Shockwave file.
@@WedgePee Right- I tend to lump them together, because kid me didn't really care to understand the difference.
This isn't the first time that happened in a Cartoon Network flash game. We have "The Envelops, please!".
I remember this game being much scarier than it actually is 🤣
The game is 7 minutes long? Man, I remember spending 1 hour on my first play and 15-20 mins back in the day
Dude me too💀 I was shocked it was only 7 minutes. I guess it was because we were so young and didn't know wtf we were doing, I remember games lasting so much longer then
Dude he's already played the game and knows where to go. If you didn't know what to do of course it's going to take longer 😂
Me three
In my memories this was a 40 hour campaign lol. It made such an impact I assumed it was a long game.
Same
This game is where I would like to believe most of us discovered Sticky Keys.
I remember playing this when I was really little, younger than 7yo. This game terrified me so much I never made it past the part where you talk to the computer and the ghost starts following you around. I remember the bathroom sequence clearly as well... it still weirds me out to see the game today lol (I'm 21 now).
Yo I thought I was the only one! this game was creepy as hell as a kid too mainly because of the ghosts and probably the music and sound effects creating a creepy ambiance. Now being older this game feels trippy and existential as hell. I never got past the part where you get the truck open because I didn’t think you’d have to mess with the items to continue 🤣
@@andrewhague5204 doesn’t feel real
The ghosts used to scare the crap out of me once they started chasing me as a kid. We're roughly the same age, turning 23 next month
Same here
This game was fucking cool. I used to love it so much, I remember playing it at my grandparents on their shitty pc. The music and sound effects have stuck with me all these years.
Good times when I watch my older sister play this in the early 2000's
Yup, btw, there are other questions for Courage to answer when he gets to the poltergeist's game show. You can try answering it wrong on purpose and see what other questions they have.
@@henrythepotatohead I've done it long ago. I wish it gave an impact though. I can't play it anyway because shockwave isn't supported anymore.
@@Sg190th you can play it on flashpoint if you want
@@henrythepotatohead oh word thanks I'll go do that now
Had the same experience as well, and then beating it for myself afterwards.
This looks like the kind of game that would release on the DS and be very successful.
What a missed opportunity
Given that the series was very popular when it came out, it probably would have been on GBA, or for more potential a pc game with its own cd.
Yeah, take this basic system and concept, expand it out into a full length title with multiple "episodes" with a lot of exploration, and you'd have one of the best licensed games on the GBA.
Brings back such good memories. I loved playing this, Scooby Doo and the Creepy Castle, and the Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends Big Fat Awesome House Party.
This was one of the only flash games on cartoon network that I remember playing and actually finishing. Glad to see some gameplay footage of it after some time.
God this is REALLY good sprite art!
I remember I used to love the graphics for this game, but I could never figure out how to finish it
I was a very stupid child lmao
The graphics were actually amazing for a flash game of that time. I never had any video consoles as a kid so this was the closest thing I could get to playing a game that looked like that
Where were you stuck on?
I did too. The graphics were like something out of a Game Boy Advance game
That was me with most flash games so you're not the only one
Loving these, really appreciate it
I remember playing this back in the day, but the computer always started having problems after I used the shift key a certain number of times, so I could never finish it.
😂 Damn stickykeys
Same. I forgot you could even shoot that until now, and then I remembered it was probably stickykeys
I remember playing this and could never figure out how to fix the antenna because i was only 5 and didnt really read any of the text. I had no idea i was that close to the ending. Its always neat seeing the endings of old flash games that i never beat. Almost like finding lost knowledge
OMG, that is my favorite Courage the Cowardly Dog game, thank you for uploading this video! 😊
Memories are strong with this one.
I remember the struggle of playing this on dial up internet...dark times, indeed. I remember wandering around aimlessly, running away from the scary ghosts, lol
I always wanted a full Courage game that looked just like this game as a kid
6:46
Kinda wholesome to see Eustace happy for Courage's heroics.
8 year old me could never figure this out, thanks for giving me closure!
this was my favorite game to play as a kid
Omg i was so scared to play this
Same!
Thank you for this! i miss this game so much..
Idk why but for some reason I always thought this game was super advanced for a Flash game on CN. I liked the pixelated graphics that always reminded me of a 16-bit era game and the encouragement of exploration. And as a kid this game seemed so long and complex but you can beat it in less than five minutes lmao
It’s actually coded in Shockwave (the other major plugin of the day).
Yeah if you don't explore and know what you are supposed to do lmao
I loved this Courage the Cowardly Dog game
Hey man! Can you do another playthrough for Creep TV with the secret codes activated? These codes enable a score table showing how many ghosts you've zapped and the possibility to explore the desert around the house. In the desert there is even an item to be collected: a pair of glasses in order to read a sign!
Oh yeah I remember this one. Looking back it was very well developed for just a flash game. The sprite work on its own makes this game a cut above the other CN games in terms of design.
This was actually Shockwave, but yes, it’s definitely one of the best made.
@@WedgePee oh right Shockwave. My bad. Come to think of it, I think a lot of them used that. I think EEnE's Spin Stadium used it.
The Things I Do For Love.
This was one of my favourites, I replayed it so many times
Mostly because I loved how it looked, and I felt so smart when I finished it for the first time
back in the days before multiplayer games
how i miss that game!!!! RIP flash
Shockwave too!
This scared me as a kid! I played it in the dark at night and I would get scared of the sound effects in the game, it'd be so sudden. Also, I could never figure out what to do next to actually finish the game
This game was one of my faves! It ran so slow back in the day that you wouldn't notice it being so short
The childhood floodgates have been unlocked. I use to
Play this game so much at my local library
These pixel games were really good I wonder who made them
Probably ThisIsPop. They're responsible for a lot of the games on CN's website, as well as for AS.
Loved this Courage the Cowardly Dog game Creep TV on Cartoon Network games!!! Finished it like 3 times!
It also had great mild jumpscares!
Omg this game was my favorite back in the day!
I remember this game you can fail at all the questions and they give you a “second chance”
The music is so Magnificent!
This may have been the first real computer game I ever played. I played it for hours and hours, because I couldn’t really read and my only strategy was running around in circles. It terrified me but I spent so much time trying to beat it
1:40 that was surprisingly cute
Nostalgia
fun fact: you can actually go through the entire game without ever triggering the cutscene at 1:43
Well yes, but it's good to trigger that cutscene so you know what happened.
Ahhhhhhhh! I miss this so muuuch!
I loved this game
4:51 When LeQuack appeared on screen, a stuff I loved to do is walking to the room left to right, because since LeQuack faced, depending where Courage is... it gave to him, the impression he's "dancing" and I called that moment, "The Duck's Dance". Funny, isn't it?
i always wanted to play this game when i was little but i couldn't read, thank you
I remember playing this all the way back in 4th grade. I spent much time zapping the ghosts
I used to play that game on Cartoon Network Website
I was looking for this gamee, thaaanks!!!
Whoa there were point and click retro style games on CN too? I wish I was a bigger fan of courage as a kid, then maybe I would've discovered this game back then.
OMG I FINALLY FOUND IT!!!!
The ghost gets more scaried than Courage
I remember this game.
I remember playing this game so long ago. I was ALWAYS stuck on the part where the ghost was playing with the toilet, I had no idea where to go or what to do
I never win this game when I was a kid, I just download flashpoint on my Pc and played it again and finnally I won!
The best
I loved this game so much
I remember playing this one! Even though I don't understand much of English, I finished the game. It was very tough
Too bad that the flahs game archive doesn't seem to have it ;(
I don't know what you're talking about. Did you read the video description? If you're talking about Flashpoint, I can tell you it's there.....
This game scared me as a kid.
i ❤ this game🎮🎮🎮
That's an easy adventure survival puzzle game
I always wondered why Eustace's chair was blue in this game, where as in the show it's red.
No sir I'm not getting out of this chair.
I used to avoid going into the tv world, all I did was just use the remote to shoot the poltergeists until they overwhelmed me and I fainted.
I loved this game as a kid, hey, does anyone know about this other one- It had Boomerang characters and it was like a TV set/recording location, and it had similar controls, I've never been able to find it/remember the name.
Sounds like "The Envelopes, Please!". You can find it in my crossovers playlist.
@@henrythepotatohead dude that's exactly the game, thank you so much! I've been wondering about it for like 5 years man
I could never figure this game out. I always got stuck after the bathroom scene.
The ghost was Robin Hood!🏹
I used to play this in my 6th grade.
I really wish I could play this game again. I have Flashpoint but the game just crashes when I try to play this on there. No other game crashes on Flashpoint for me.
Then pls ask the folks in the Discord page, cos I really don't understand why that game doesn't load for you.
Just checked, turns out I was using version 9, which had no issues, but in the current version 10, it was changed to run in a browser instead. The game's description states there was some issue with it loading via Shockwave and that this was fixed by having it load in a browser instead.
Don't know what went wrong since it worked perfectly fine in the previous version though.
@@henrythepotatohead Ohh that explains it. When I try to run it, it opens up in a browser for me, and I guess browsers don't support Shockwave anymore?
Well, having it load in a browser definitely didn't fix anything.
@@elephant35e No idea, they use Basilisk to load it I think, I just tried it and it works for me. I don't understand why the problem even surfaced in the first place since I've playing this from version 6 (this video) till 9 and had no problems. Have you asked the folks at the Discord page yet?
@@henrythepotatohead Not yet. Can you send me a link to the Discord page?
I was scared of this game
Same but I still loved it
Same here, I played it but somehow it frightened me as a child. It helped somewhat to know that the character I was controlling was just as scared as I was because it made me feel like it wasn't going through this alone.
Flashpoint does not work on my mac, can I download the SWF game file from Flashpoint database to use it with other compatible emulators, such as Ruffle? How can I do that?
This was an easy game and I liked it
I was like 8-9 when this came out so i honestly never finished this lol
I sucked at puzzles lol
This looks a lot like the developer previously made Amiga games.
Sounds like a nes 8 bit music
Call me crazy, but when I firstly played this game several years ago, I got stuck at 3:34 believe it or not; the Bathroom was inaccessible and there was no way to get in the truck, until I realised I had to use the Electric Can Opener to open the door to the basement ^^;
I had the same problem too. I just don’t know why the computer won’t tell us that.
Is it still available even 2 years later? Also, which flashpoint do I download? The infinity one or the other version?
Edit: When I tried to play it from Adobe Shockwave player it isn't loading is there any fix?
Yes....as stated in qn 2 in the video description, you can find the game in the Master List......The description in the Flashpoint download page is pretty clear about the different types. Most ppl download the Infinity version for the simple reason that its filesize is a lot smaller and it's a "download-as-you-play" model.
What do you mean by playing it from Shockwave player????? If you mean you are trying to load the game via Shockwave player directly, take note that it doesn't always work (sigh....I don't wanna have to explain the whole thing again every time someone asks something like this. It's really getting on my nerves..........). That's what Flashpoint is for.............
@@henrythepotatohead no I mean on flashpoint for the courage game u have to go through some version of shockwave player because that's how the game is originally made on. It isn't loading when I try to and other games sometimes don't load either like this rapunzel escape game. Also, some games like Hannah and the ice cave won't load the full screen rather it will be stuck in a small screen and u can't maximize the tab. Im just trying to figure out if I have to find some supplement or archive version for flashwave in order to play it or do u think it has to do something with my computer itself?
Just asking for ur one cent on my situation cuz ur all I know when it comes to this flashpoint thing
@@micah2887 Some games can't be done in fullscreen. Read the FAQ section in the Flashpoint page. There is a section for that. Ctrl-F "full screen" or something like that. Also, you can ask the folks in the Discord page for help. Those games should work cos Flashpoint supports older Shockwave versions.
I don't understand what you mean by going through some shockwave version for the game....i simply played it in flashpoint and nothing is wrong........
@@henrythepotatohead its fine I'll figure it out, thx for the help tho :)
@@micah2887 Just checked, turns out I was using version 9, which had no issues, but in the current version 10, it was changed to run in a browser instead. The game's description states there was some issue with it loading via Shockwave and that this was fixed by having it load in a browser instead.
Don't know what went wrong since it worked perfectly fine in the previous version though...
I also use Flashpoint Infinity, but HOW do you make it FULL SCREEN ?
when I lounch the game, it appears in a browser window, but the game is at the upper richt corner of the screen,
the rest of it is blanck... so it's unconfortable to play.

2:22 Is that a farting sound😭😭😭😭
I didnt find this game for download :< Can you post it?
Did you read the video description?
Oh man I remember rushing home and trying to finish this game before my mom or brother pulled me away form the computer I could never finish on time so I'd have to restart every single time it felt like months before I actually did it those where good fucking times if anyone got a website I can find this on hook a brother up
I don't think there's any website that supports this game anymore. I played this using Flashpoint (video description).
i could never beat it
Is there a specific event that triggers the mailman to pick up/return? Or do you just have to move around inside the house for so long?
I'm not sure either, cos whenever I play this game (yes, I sometimes replay this), I will either walk around or try moving in between maps. Hmm, I should try timing it and see whether any particular approach makes a difference.
UPDATE: To trigger the mailman to pick up, you need to enter another room and take just 1 step. I have timed several runs with some slight variations and they all took around 30-32 seconds. After the notification about the mailman making his rounds, there is no noticeable difference whether you walk around in the other room or stand still. Constantly switching between rooms makes it slightly slowly, probably due to the game not being able to show the notification in time before you change rooms. The main thing is you should never stay in the same map where the mailbox is or else you might just end up waiting forever.
Have you tried asking the computer for hints if you get stuck?
That was a long time ago when I first played it. I still remember the steps, so...
"Whats that growling sound"
*static demonic noises*
I remember this one so well.. damn, how time passes.. I remember a look-alike game with the same pixelated look graphics where all CN characters were there.. Do you know that game's name?
Sounds like "The Envelopes, Please!". You can find it in the Crossovers playlist.
@@henrythepotatohead Yes, found it! Thanks a lot
3:22-3:23
Can anyone guide me how to play this game in absence of Adobe Flash? Since it's killed now?
Flashpoint (video description)...
I never beat it XD
Blah blah blah!
Your links look like virus' to me
If you think the links lead you to some website with viruses galore, then don't visit. Simple as that.
I remember this being far creepier. Like io-oni for kids
It scared me too, but I still found it enjoyable, quite the paradox.
