I have never crocheted a shawl. However, I have some 2 wt. Yarn and well, there is a first time for everything. I can't wait to get started. Beautiful Shawl
Hello there.. Shirley from England here.. what a super, beautiful shawl. I have to say you seem to have more choices in yarn than we do over here. I’ve never heard, seen,or touched this particular yarn. I’m hoping Woolwarehouse will have it. Hardly any wool shops over here.. rare as rocking horse droppings , as they say 🐴 💩…🙁. Lots of online shops but you don’t get chance to “feel before you buy” which is important with something that goes next to your skin… and it’s such a “naus” (🤮)sending things back. It’s lovely to have Crystal to trust in that department … when she says a yarn is soft and feels nice, then you know it does.. definitely putting this on my “saved” list of things to make … I’ll have to live to 300 at least to get them all done xxx😅 💀 xxx
@@patpowell6684 thanks Pat I will definitely check that out.. just crocheting with a recycled cotton and acrylic yarn from Utopia Crafts through Amazon … a bit “splitty” and probably won’t buy it again as it weighs heavy and doesn’t go very far. It’s around £2.50 a ball but I’ve already used 5 balls on a shrug and I’ve only done the top bit and part of a sleeve… my granddaughter is very tall an it’s taking loads ☹️ hope this helps you make choices too xxx
I adore shiny yarns without sequins almost as much as I love your shawls. I recommend your patterns to my beginning crocheters all the time. I teach foster kids crafts like crocheting, jewelry making, cross stitch/embroidery and photography. Supply costs kill me, but it’s important that they gain skills that improve their self-esteem. I use most of my stash up pretty quickly when the school year starts. My requirements to attend crafting sessions is that they must be passing all their classes and no skipping classes is allowed. The boys like crochet and jewelry making because they have girlfriends and foster families. The girls love crochet and photography since they love their phones!
This is a beautiful shawl!!! Think I'll make it next, cuz I'm just finishing up my BOD CAL Shawl!!! And I love the yarn!! Thank you, Crystal!!!!! 😊 TFS!! Austin TX USA
Finally had the time to watch a full video. Now that school's out for summer I'll be able to start crocheting again. I also need to catch up on the missed videos. Congratulations on your gold plaque, and over a million subscribers . I'm so happy for you. You very much deserve it. This is a beautiful and delicate looking shawl. Many blessings to you.
This shawl worked up FAST. I had some acrylic yarn in a 4 weight that I wanted to get rid of and used for this shawl. It's beautiful and I made it super large to use up all the yarn I had. Puff stitches are my weakest stitch but after this I believe I have worked out my issues with them. Thanks Crystal for another amazing tutorial.
That is a great design for the deep garnet colors of the Poema Glitter yarn. It’s relatively simple for a lacy open work shawl, but it looks so rich! I wonder if it would be worth the time to string some ruby glass beads and work them just into those triple V border stitches? Evening Bliss indeed!
I've never been able to make Puff Stitches. I'd pass over any patterns with them. Till your BOD CAL Shawl came out. I HAD to make it. And now I can do puff Stitches. Practice is a good thing!!! I'm now ready for all these puff Stitches!! As soon as I finish last 4 CAL rows. THANKS CRYSTAL!!! Austin TX USA
Working on your open oyster shell blanket for my sisters birthday to use at her beach house but this will be my next project!!! I'm plus size so this will be just for me!!! 😊 You are my only go to for new projects now, thank you for all that you do. Its very appreciated by myself and many others I'm sure!
I finished my last project two days ago and have been looking for a shawl to do that I haven't done. I've started about 5 or 6 and got the setup rows done and then read on in the pattern. For numerous reasons, I've abandoned all of them. Then I saw this. This is what I was waiting for! Thanks Crystal!
Hi Crystal. Another beautiful shawl pattern. My youngest daughter (she's 32) loves when you come out with another shawl. She wears one everyday at her work and she loves showing them off. Thank you.
What a beautyful shawl ,i'm gone make it for my friends mom she's gone turn 90, so the perfect gift.💖 Thank you you are a gift to us.💞 Greatings from Slowenia👋
Currently have two blankets in progress one is a granny square moon and sun, the other is a snowflake star blanket, and was working on a shawl, as I make a lot of them and give to women in need, but the one I was working is for a friend in Texas where it gets really hot, and I got a notification for your shawl and immediately frogged the one in progress and started this one for her. Only had 1 cake of its particular color of Manadal, which has all her fav.colors in it. your shawl is a beautiful much needed distraction from the blankets. Thanks for a beautiful shawl tutorial!😍🥰Happy hooking!
I've been looking and looking for a simple airy shawl. This will do nicely. Your tutorial is really well paced and easy to understand and that's a plus!
