- As a company we produce equipment that cuts fine turfgrass with a sharp, clean and uniform appearance. Therefore it is crucial that the correct sharpening procedure is undertaken when it begins to wear.
Less than two minutes into this and what has become apparent. Is this man is giving you the true manner of how to do this proper top quality cutting edge device some maintenance. Specifically sharpen the cylinder cutting edge !
The gentleman who presented that video did an excellent job. His vocabulary and eloquence’s on the presentation was exceptional. I take my hat off to you sir. Keep up the great videos.

Thumbs up I’ve got a reel thats really bad shape I’m getting ready to do this but by hand I wish I could bring it over !

Amateurs, most kids remember dad teaching them how to sharpen a knife. Always push the edge forward so as not to leave burrs that will only roll back and leave a dull edge. Don't believe me, try it, it will feel like a saw and not a knife. So, why not file those burrs off the leading edge of your reel? After grinding and after lapping! I get 4 to 5 months between grinds, approximately 1200 to 1500 greens cut with a triplex. Even then it is still cutting paper with little contact.
I'm pretty sure everyone has those two machines laying around their house, just waiting for our reel mowers to be sharpened. Wait my reel mowers blades don't detach like yours do. At least I have the machines...
