    *Works great: **Fastly.Cool** and Warming environment perfectly controlled. I use 3 in different grow tents. It’s nice to see from your phone how your tent temps are. Does High and Low and records data.*

    Do you know if this model can be calibrated? Mine isn't accurate to what the indoor temperature is.

    Hello, This t-stat has aux heat which my system also has but you did not address that in this video. Do you know which wires would be used to connect the aux strip heaters or how that would be done?

    Thank you sir for this easy friendly block instruction on replacing a thermostat. The thermostat I need and you are recommending is out of stock. What model of thermostat would you recommend me to use instead?

    Have you ever had to hook the green to a yellow with a jumper wire when Running a WiFi thermostat. With a heat pump

    Hi, can you ever have a two stage heat pump without an O or B wire?

    Im stumped. Trying to install a smart tstat that requires a C wire. Ive got 29V from R to Y, G, O at my tstat. My R to C has 29v at the heat pump unit. I ran a blue wire from the C terminal at the heat pump unit down to the tstat. The other end of the same blue wire that reads 29v at the heat pump only reads 16 to 17v at the tstat end of the wire. WTF? What would cause the wire to lose 10 Volts? Its no longer than 7 feet of length (at least that's the physical distance from the tstat to the bryant heat pump unit on the roof. The connection to the C term is solid. There is continuity. Somehow, as that blue wire is snaking through the drywall down to the tstat it is losing 10 volts. I can't explain that. I tried a different wire, and same result. 17 volts. Makes no sense.

    Dan, thanks for posting the video. I have a basic heat pump and I want to change the old digital thermostat to a new programmable thermostat. The wiring is very straightforward, except the instructions say a jumper is needed between W2 and E if there is no OD T-Stat. My system doesn't have an OD T-Stat, but the old thermostat didn't have this jumper. Do I need to provide this jumper? Thank you for any assistance.

      Hi, LH Linn, my thermostat is exactly the same. And most basic residential heat pumps don't come with OD stats stock, either. You don't need the emergency at all, unless you live in a crazy-cold environment. Auxiliary still works fine without E/AUX jumper. I don't have my E/AUX jumpered either and have had no problems for more than fifteen years.

    Dan, If I have a common wire and I install a new Honeywell Pro 3000, will it run normally without batteries?

    • @danjiles
      @danjiles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the batteries only keep the last setting if the power get shut off to the system.

    "Y" is for the compressor, whether in heat or cool mode. Not for cooling as stated at 7:40.

    Hey Dan I have the same old thermostat in my home.
    Wires on back are connected as follows, blue to x, white to w2, brown to e, yellow y, orange o, red r, green g.
    Do I wire new thermostat like yours as you explained.

    • @danjiles
      @danjiles 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s hard for me to answer as not all systems use the common wire in the same way. Some system use a light wire that uses the blue and some use common wire with brown.

      I do not have brown wire. I do have blue. Should I put blue to "B" or blue wire to "C"?

    My "L" is hooked up. What is it? It has the blue on it which is a reversing valve for heat.
    WHAT IS L ? My orange is the reversing valve for cool which is OB on my tstat. Im using 7 of the 8 wires for just a standard heat pump. No indoor unit. Please..... what is L ?

    Crack the sealed tube and pour the Mercury in a jar with a screw top. Keep it.
