Veena you are the "bestest of the best". Such an amazing and healthy cake, one favour Veena want to buy wheat flour to start making chapatis, I have been making chapatis but not satisfied with the outcome for this your help Veena, I will be ever grateful for the immediate response you give inspite of your busy schedule. Tku once again and God's blessings always
You're so welcome, Rita. And thanks for the appreciation. For making good chapatis, you have to start with good wheat flour. After that, there is technique involved at every stage. Use any good reputed brand of readymade wheat flour. If you're buying wheat for making wheat flour from a local mill, again, buy good quality wheat, either sharbati or lokvan. Years ago, we used to buy wheat and then grind this to make wheat flour. But since the last 8-10 years we've switched to readymade flour. I use either Aashirvaad, Pillsbury, or Fortune brand.

Veena how many grams is 1 1/4 cups of wheat flour. I ask because I don't know if the cup should be loosely filled or packed and then evened, am about to mix the cake, thank you veena
@@moffadalbhukhiya9675 yes, you can. Instead of yogurt, add 2 eggs. Reduce the quantity of milk by 2 tbsp in the beginning. Then, in the end, add just enough milk ( 1 tbsp at a time) to adjust the consistency of the batter.
Rita, the exact brand of wheat flour is not important. Use any well-known brand. But the one I used for the cake video was Aashirvaad Atta, which was the flour we happened to be using then for chapatis. But I have also made this with Fortune Atta and the Reliance brand of atta and the cake turned out equally good. So don't specially go out and buy a particular brand of atta. Just make sure it is a well-known brand.
@@Iqra-tafseer , so sorry to hear about your daughter. Since she cannot have protein, I have a suggestion. The cake will have a different flavour but will still be very tasty. In place of yogurt or egg, you could add some fruit pulp and 1 tsp of lime juice. For this particular cake, instead of 1/2 cup yogurt, add 1/2 cup mango pulp (or 1/2 cup mashed banana) + 1 tsp lime juice. In place of milk, add water. And reduce the jaggery content by around 1/4 cup. Finally adjust the cake batter consistency by adding 1-2 tbsp water to thin it, or 1 - 2 tbsp wheat flour to thicken it. Also, I guess you'll have to leave out the nuts. The raisins you could mix into the batter. Hope this helps, Iqra.

Can i stir in the nuts. Would it be alright to add in some chopped dates?
Yes, you can, Shobana. But chop the dates and the nuts into small pieces (not very small).

You're welcome, Rita. Use either of these but if you have jaggery powder, go with that.
Veena instead of using water can I add 2 tbs milk
Yes, sure, Rita. You can. It's just a small quantity for adjusting the consistency and only to be added if necessary.

Can we add ghee instead of oil ?
Yes, you can, Laina. But oil will keep the cake soft for a longer time.
Veena I checked on your other site where you mentioned the weight flour it is 160 grams, tks and sorry to inconvenience you all the time
No problem, Rita.
