    It's a good truck, they just missed the mark on the plastics. The plastics are brittle, but the driveline is solid.. not perfect but with a little love it's a keeper. Oh yes the radio and receiver in mine were doodoo!

      @jeremycravens6973 Not sure on the pricing now but it was a little over priced at the time too.

      They now ship it with a performance pack. $350 I haven't broken anything yet. But IF I buy a 2nd one, 👉🏾 RPM arms, replace servo saver, reinforce the body🌟 stock tires on 6s wont last, (belted), 2s powered motor Fan🌡️🤒, tune the diff fluids, gear up a pinion tooth or two, ENJOY 👍🏾💯

      @@ReadySetRC Hopefully it's not a sign that they are doing bad and could be going extinct. That would suck. It's just speculation from the my part though.

      @@joseCalderon1976 Hope not but it's been a trend for most of the companies as of late with the lowering the price of older kits. Helps us consumers out.

      Dropped the $429 for the combo kit.. 4S battery and charger included.. how can you say no to these deals.. LOL

    “Tamiya connector” 😂😂😂. I actually love my MT8, I might be the only one, but it definitely needs some mods. Agree 100% it’s more of a driver’s car.

      @Razor RC I think I maybe close to getting this thing right. Just a few more tweaks. But I haven't given up yet.

    Great review Neil, I agree 100%. I told people when this first came out to just get a Kaiju instead. They are made in the same factory in Taiwan and share a lot of the same components but at the price the Kaiju comes in at vs. This one, it's just unbeatable. This truck isn't bad from what I've seen, just a little overpriced for similar trucks in its category. I'd take a Kaiju all day every day over this one. However, I really do like the Rival mt10! It's like a mini kaiju 😁👍great video and review brother! 💯 🤜 🤛 🔥 🔥 ⚡ ⚡

    • @ReadySetRC
      @ReadySetRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Riff Raff's RC Thanks Bob, it has potential but that out of the box experience very hard to pass up the Kaiju. My Kaiju is still going strong.

    • @riffraffsrc
      @riffraffsrc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ReadySetRC both of my Kaiju's, og & EXT are still awesome, no problems. I strengthened the bodies, put hex extenders and sway bars on them and the improved uppers and a fan on the OG motor. They are holding up great! 😁👍

  • @vivos71
    @vivos71 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Being into the 2000’s era of truggy racing, I’d get this truck, put the Kaiju EXT’s wing mount on it and never look back. I agree with what you say about the price, seems like right now the industry is in a rut where everyone is trying to make the most profitable RC possible instead of the best like back in the Ofna days.

    • @ReadySetRC
      @ReadySetRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Captain Could've RC I saw a video from Captain Could've RC with the wing, looks really good. I'm hoping there is a correction soon on all of these price hikes.

      @@ReadySetRC with me liking sensored motors and esc’s and knowing the radio is pretty much throwaway, I think this might be one of those ‘check ebay for a roller’ type of trucks.

    I replaced several parts right off the bat. But I got it 20% off. I have about $550 in it right now. I don’t do huge jumps and stunts. But this guy looks GOOD. And handles very well as well once you get the kinks out.

    I love this thing. it drives like a professional grade compared to my toyish traxxas an arrma stuff. but if your new to the hobby I'd suggest the traxxas maxx v2. I will be hooking this up to my dx5c remote after watching this video. So Thankyou

      @John Gantner It's got some potential. Once TA get's some of these things sorted out, it's going to be a good offering. But reduction in price is key.

    Saw all your videos about this truck. Now that again some time has passed. Is the truck now durable in your opinion with the available RPM arms, alu steering rack, better turnbuckles and maybe the alu front and rear hub carriers + spindles. Or will it still break often with these upgrades? Thanks a lot.

    • @ReadySetRC
      @ReadySetRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @andreasallmendinger8526 It has been holding up with part's I've thrown in it but price point to get it here puts a few other more durable and less pricey RC's into consideration. I say this, maybe with the new body one TA has changed the compound of the plastics and maybe that has addressed some of the issues but I won't be buying another one to see.

    • @andreasallmendinger8526
      @andreasallmendinger8526 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ReadySetRC Thank you. Here in Germany there is a discount on the "old" body version about 20 %. Maybe I'll buy one and put RPM arms, alu steering rack and better turnbuckles in it right at the beginning. With the alu hub carriers and spindles I will wait, because I would have to import this parts from the US and with tax und shipping it would cost me a lot. But I like the truck very much from what I've seen. I still have to think about it.
      Maybe I'll contact you once again about your Yeti XL. Thats another project of mine waiting for me in my workshop in the basement.
      Have a nice day. I do like your style of making videos. Subscribed.

    Honestly if you give it some time, love, and parts it becomes a great truck. I prefer this truck over a Maxx for handling.

    • @ReadySetRC
      @ReadySetRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Moose Moss I feel it will be a good truck once TA addresses some of the durability issues. I agree this a better handling truck than the Maxx but the Maxx is known for it's durability more than it's handling. The truck I feel gives this one a run for it's money is the TC Sketer. Checks all the boxes and comes in at a lower price point. But that's just my humble opinion.

    Seems the MT8 is hit or miss. I'd call your failures minor for a truck you are bashing. I've beat the hell out of my MT8 and the only problem I've had is a rip in a tire. A little super glue and no problems since. Got mine on pre order so I've been beating on it a while. All skatepark visits. My big rock has been a piece of shit at the skatepark. My kraton has had a lot of failures but failures I'd expect to have at a skatepark. The xp120 is crap. TA needs to fix their transmitter line. My mt10 is also taking a beating. My kajui has broke every time out. I'd definitely buy the MT8 again over the Redcat. Guess everyone is different

    • @ReadySetRC
