    Get that airdam off! And toss it in the trash. Check out my Amazon Store Front, products and tools I use in my videos.

    Can you take the waffle piece off that is behind the wheel well? Or is that something that would need to stay attached to the vehicle?

    • @fondupot
      @fondupot  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can be removed, but only if you are servicing that area. It give strength to the lower bumper and the wheel well liner. Otherwise, those two pieces will just be flapping in the wind. If you are trying to clear more space for larger tires, there is a procedure you can perform where you trim down the waffle piece and move the screws. Search the coloradofans.com forums for the how to.

    I have a 2021 Z71 Colorado and maybe Chevrolet got a clue, because all the screws are easily removed from underneath. Took me less than 5 minutes to remove all the screws and reinstall them with my drill and socket attachment. Really changes the look of the truck.

  • @rangersmith4652
    @rangersmith4652 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems to me the real right answer is something in between. Aesthetically, the matte black "line" under the bumper provided by the air dam is a good thing; it's just too thick. The dam needs to be pared back to about 1" instead of the 3-4" it comes stock, then put back on. Maybe it can even be trimmed in place.

    • @fondupot
      @fondupot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a 2021Canyon At4. I was kind of not looking forward to doing it after watching this vid as I felt it would take some time. Turns out the 2021 dam removal has been greatly simplified. Just unscrew 14ish downward facing bolts then pop it off. Only took me 15 minutes. Easy to put back on as well so if you just wanted to take it off for off roading then put it back on for road use is a breeze. Used you ramp idea as well. That took a lot more effort to build lol

    I really appreciate the tip about flipping over the two "downward facing screws" and that your video was right to point without any unnecessary chat. The only thing that I would add was that I took 1 7mm head bolt and 4 T15 head screws out of the "waffle" plate. There was one T15 screw in the fender well. But my vehicle is a 2018 so that my be why.

    Thanks! This video made it easy. The only problem I had was the two 'difficult' bolts, my low-profile screwdriver didn't want to fit over it due to the clip behind it. A little extra pressure worked wonders, though. It also explained why you said to leave those for last, as the air dam dropped as the screw loosened, instead of the screw pushing up.
