Great video....but I got into the habit of tolerating abuse from a narcissistic husband....one must stand up for oneself....and set boundaries until one reaches those higher states of consciousness.

Its a good question wether we should set these boundaries or not. I have been extremely assertive for some time but actually i have been failing a lot
Because i was TOO defensive too offensive. I have said many bad words. I regret and want ti be kind but its very difficult i have accumulation of habit.
Obviously my speech is hijacked. Way more than that.
      I just reminded myself today:
“If someone were to harm them, they will not respond with harm. If someone displays anger, they do not react with anger. If someone insults them, they do not answer with insulf. If someone accuses them, they do not respond or retaliate”
It will take me some time to do this again.
And maybe that means i should be like a stone…. STRONG but tolerant.
      Its difficult these days.
Lot of challenges and not sure what is happening.
Is someone trying to save my Dharma? Or is it actually the opposite.

Pride, Anger.. lot of bad habits.
      I will try to resolve.
Do i need to breathe up to my crown?
I am worried about my lower chakras.

@@gsnail8189Practice Nadi Shuddhi Pranayama for 20 minutes daily for 6 months, IF YOU HAVE NO HEART/CARDIAC ISSUES. Else, don’t do it and instead practice being silent for 1 hour a day initially and expand it to 3 to 4 hours daily and complete silence on weekends, if possible, from now on. You will see the difference in 6 months. If YOU CAN do this pranayama (no heart issues), but don’t know how to do this pranayama, learn from a proper yoga teacher. Learning from TH-cam from a traditional Indian yoga teacher, may be an option too.

If possible, move away physically. Distancing yourself is better than setting boundaries.
Be in a outside situation where there's no need to set boundaries.
      Again, if that's possible.

I must read that everyday and follow those rules. Very easy to hear and vow to do it. However, when insulted, ego comes to the fore to oppose.

In practice when someone verbally attacks you (body/mind) the primitive part of the mind wants to protect and react. adrenaline begins to flow you remain still it will pass and you will be at peace. I moved away to the solitude of the rural country to study and practice to be one.

It makes absolut sense but in this aggressive world it's not easy to get busted by the violance which is thrown at one from many directions... So I know or try to know from now on when I react enough to protect me but also just in the needed amount and for the rest I try to stay away as good as I can from negative things and mind my own business...

In Taiwan I spent time alternating between natural extremely hot baths in the mountains to cold plunges and then the shock between the extremes opened a space of peace and prayer. I am not completely transformed, but so gained a foothold of some strong semblance of control over my mind, body, emotions. The passions dispersed at least temporarily. But that temporary freedom gave deep insight into the space within that is untouched by the senses and thoughts. You can try it or if you don’t have the facilities, you can switch from hot to cold showers or baths and observe the state in concentration after the heat followed by the cold and then rest in meditation or holy concentration on any spiritual form or ideal that you cherish or would like to develop.

Since a long time we hear those words, written since millennia : The world can cast stones at your face, but this is not a problem. All we know what is the world composed of, because of the intricate energetic complexity: hatred, ambition, fear, authority, disdain, mockery, falsehood, etc. The Truth searcher knows he is not the eternally-in-conflict world. So he should not give back the same. We can peoceed as Buddha suggests- give them flowers, or the other face. But don´t react, this is mechanical and ugly. Thanks for the video.

This is very bad advice. The offender doesn't transform unless he senses power of the sadhana in you. If he perceives you as weak he can kill you.

i think it's more to do with internal reaction than external. You can and must reply/defend yourself when absolutely necessary but even in that, mind (and chitta) must not become malice (angry/sad/disturbed or any reaction whatsoever)

    • @Aanandlahar
      @Aanandlahar 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Swami Sivananda Ji is talking about the offender attacking us mentally or psychologically.
If the offender attacks physically, then of course we should give a befitting reply.
It's called शब्द साधना Shabda Sadhana ==> Words should not make us lose our equanimity.

@@jim_from_it3261 ergo, I don't need to turn the other cheek to be hit. He is speaking of enduring unjustified evil action. That if somebody sues me I give my shirt off my back. I think the way it is put has to be reframed. Enduring evil action only makes evil even more unbridled and to break such a force of evil through pure submission every time ? Seems very unlikely the victim would be able to persist without dying or being killed.
