Spent 18 years working out of Carnarvon on the trawlers working the fishing grounds of Shark Bay. An absolutely beautiful stunning area. Went ashore on Dirk Hartog Island a number of times and got to fish the shallows for bluebone snapper etc as well. A great part of WA. Cheers for the video and the memories Cam.
Man o man how cool is that. . Going to the Island on the barge then driving around , fishing . Livin the dream . Great ep . Sweet set up with the tinnie , outboard just swings down …. So good
Hi Cam, crackin series mate, I really enjoyed the POV camera angles as you were driving, made me feel like I was behind the wheel. Looking forward to the next episode
Great video mate. Look forward every week to see the new one. That new canopy looked absolutely rock solid over those corrugations. Those boys did a great job.
Great vid mate. Pretty brave with the drone footage on the barge, especially with your drone killing reputation lol. But paid off very nicely. Love DHI can’t wait to go back, with a tinny next time.
I have a couple of large tupperware style containers that work as drawers in my Bushman 85L. Easy to access, easy to load and stops stuff moving around.
Great video Cam! Looking like the new set up is going well ! Dead Mans Fingers… which one were you drinking? Looked so nice! Keep the good content coming!!
Favourite Rum Cam. Deadmans Fingers. Next time do exactly the same but chop 2 birds eye chillies in half and drop in. Awesome. Great episode too mate. Lovin' the new set up
Was over there a couple of times mid 2000's, roads were rough as guts then and beaches like talcum powder.....fishing was worth the crash and bash drive though......enjoying the vids Cam.....
Hey Cam, this is a bucket list destination for me too...congrats on ticking off yours... I know from the build that you have no solar on the roof, but in this situation, there was no tinnie on the roof for the time you were stationary....maybe you could have a couple of panels on the roof, fixed, and switch the supply, between your blanket and the roof as the situation demands???
Great video mate. Yep DHI is an awesome place. We were there at the end of September, beginning October. We stayed at Withnell point too, 4 nights. Absolutely awesome spot. Our 5th and last night, we camped on the beach where the barge lands.
No worries mate. I can imagine 3 nights aren't enough. On the other hand, if you go 5 or more nights, I reckon, stay at least at 2 different beaches for a change of scenery.
Cheers mate. kulkyne king single big boy. It’s a ripper! Packs up big and heavy but it’s so worth it for the extra room and the comfort. The stretcher is also designed to fit the swag, so the swag poles actually lock into the stretcher
Cheers mate. The runners are bolted on in such a way that its reversible if I wanted to. But the table/drawer setup is on a double runner so that the entire drawer can be pulled out without running over the table if that makes sense. You'll see what I mean in this video at the 19.54min mark; th-cam.com/video/eo-T5SUpVmE/w-d-xo.html
The smile on your face driving in, yeah your excited😀😀. Solar on solar... Priceless.. 😂😂 Great insight on your power set up, good to see its working for you, but like you say you need sun, maybe a bigger solar blanket. Little tip, if you got room, keep your Rum or bourbon in the fridge or freezer. Makes it go syrupy, and mixes really well and helps keep the drink cool too. Loving this trip
Hey cam how does your mate like his darche awning ? Just bought. A new canopy did have a 30 second awning but I really like the front fold of the darche, did he have any problems closing it down during the big winds during the night
Yeah he’s very happy with it. No doubt about it- offers a lot more coverage. But it’s significantly more fiddly to set up and pack away. That night with the wind blowing up it took all 3 of us hanging onto the thing to put it away without damaging it.
Canopy handled it all perfectly! Outboard slide, draws and 12v setup are bang on too! It was a great trip to test all the gear. ThunderFab are going to make some slight design changes on the boat rack setup though before its available to the public.
Great spot DHI It’s a very windy place, done 4 trips and stay at shelter bay Can’t bring myself to pay DHI rip off prices especially when you have a boat that can take you up the island
Hi Cam just another question regards to your coffee brew unit ,how does it operate with the induction cooktop? Is it specific for induction cooktops? Cheers
Great video Mate, it was interesting to see how you went after reducing to one 100Ah Lithium, do you think you'll go back to 200Ah so you'll have a better reserve for those cloudy days?
Cheers mate! I've reduced to one 150ah. I don't think I'll increase battery size, but I may put a fixed panel up top for occasions like this trip when the boats off.
@@WildTouring wow, ok, my bad, in that case, are you using anything to calculate your battery capacity vs current draw vs charging ability/requirements?
I'm sure it is but i don't much in the way of figures yet. For this trip I averaged 17.5/100 total including the highway there/back and all the offroad stuff. The lads in the 200 series averaged around 19/100 for the same trip.

Now that's living. What a view to wake up to. Just stunning view.

Got some " boss" playing from the stereo there.. nice little detail! Good choice mate 🤙🏼
Thanks Cam,and looking forward to seeing more of the island 👍👍

May is a good time to be there. Wind wise Great show
Epic guys loved it nice work with the solar and induction cooker 🤙🙏🇦🇺
Great video, will have to get out there myself

Haha did a few test flights first across the channel!

Expensive barge crossing but defo a bucket-list trip out there - plus i bet the barge guy gets a kickback from Engel ! 😁
Good set up Cam maybe see you at the show
Enjoying your channel Cam.
We run induction as well mate. Best thing ever when your system is set up well.
good vid mate thanks for sharing

Great spot and a great test for the setup 🍺🍺🍺
Loved it bro, made me feel like going, good fun with mates 🚤🚤🚤
Cheers Louis!
Wow Cam,we were in Denham 2 weekends ago-on the list indeed for us too😊
Awesome vids as always
Thanks for sharing this amazing place 👍
Great job island looks bloody beautiful
Cam thanks for the video & it looks like a great spot 👍👍👍
Can't wait for battery set and I think we all were like to know how much power in out
What a spot! On the list for me to travel to
That new canopy is the ducks nuts
You gotta be pretty happy with that mate🥇👍
Absolutely wrapped with it!
👍👍👍👍top job with the drone mate
Favourite Rum Cam. Deadmans Fingers. Next time do exactly the same but chop 2 birds eye chillies in half and drop in. Awesome.
Great episode too mate. Lovin' the new set up
That sounds bloody good!
Great video again mate 👍
I reckon it’s a lot less hassle to have a cup of black tea than all that coffee carryon. 😀😀
Wash your mouth out!! 😂😱
What a spot!.Another place I have to check out 😂
Fabulous!
Nice one! Can we have some more Travel Buddy cook-ups 🤙
Cheers Phil, yeah mate got a few ideas!
Looks awesome Cam! Loving the new set up👌

Yeah I reckon I’ll weigh it all set up and see where I’m at. There’s a few things I’ll add if I’ve got the capacity- roof top solar being one of them.
Great video mate. Yep DHI is an awesome place. We were there at the end of September, beginning October. We stayed at Withnell point too, 4 nights. Absolutely awesome spot. Our 5th and last night, we camped on the beach where the barge lands.
Cheers mate, if I get over there again I’ll do 5 nights +.
3 nights on the island was very rushed!
No worries mate. I can imagine 3 nights aren't enough. On the other hand, if you go 5 or more nights, I reckon, stay at least at 2 different beaches for a change of scenery.
The mackie i believe was a Queensland School Mackerel or Doggie Mack in W.A give away was the white part of the Dorsal fin. Grow to about 6-7kg max
Or get another solar blanket, great vid Cam.
Yeah definitely an option!
Love the trip on my bucket list just a thought can you put solar on the sides of canopy light weight of course just thought
Cheers mate, yeah definitely could!
Fantastic trip mate. What brand is swag are you using?
Cheers mate. kulkyne king single big boy. It’s a ripper! Packs up big and heavy but it’s so worth it for the extra room and the comfort. The stretcher is also designed to fit the swag, so the swag poles actually lock into the stretcher
Another great vid Cam. Look forward to them every week. What brand of deck chair do you have?
Looks mint 👍
Cheers Craig. It’s an oztent gecko chair.
Awesome ep. Just started planning a trip to DHI so giving it another watch! Out of interest what month was it when you went?
Cheers Zac! We were up there early Oct.
Great video, do you wish your induction cooker was on the end of the draw table? So you can still access that draw slightly
Cheers mate. The runners are bolted on in such a way that its reversible if I wanted to. But the table/drawer setup is on a double runner so that the entire drawer can be pulled out without running over the table if that makes sense. You'll see what I mean in this video at the 19.54min mark;

Looks like an awesome set up and trip. What swag are you using Cam?
Kulkyne big boy king single, on a matching stretcher. Only done a few trips in it so far, but really happy with it!

@@WildTouring thanks mate I thought it might of been a pain to pack away in high winds being a 2 fold awning
Hi Cam great canopy setup on the Dmax, how is Tiff we don't see and hear much from her?
Cheers mate, she’s doing great. Due in the next 4 weeks so just laying low!
Thanks Cam another great vid was planning to go to the island bit expensive does it get cheaper in season
Cheers mate, prices vary depending on day and time of the year. But they seem to fluctuate between $400 to $700 return.
How about putting a permanent flexible solar blanket on your bonnet, have a google a few people have done it.
Hadn't really considered it before. I'm going to look into it!
@@WildTouring No worries, sent you an email, there is even a mob that makes one for your dmax :P
Lovely place. Hey what’s the camping etiquette around food. If you travel with others do you share cooking or just cook your own food?
Generally do our own thing. Would make more sense to cook together and share- but we’re not that organised 😂
Hey Cam, how have you attached the icebox to the tinny. Notice you leave it there when it's on the roof and keen to do similar!
Over centre latches between boat floor and icebox. So I can still pull it out to hose it down.
What GPS map setup do you use?
Hey Cam, was that a fridge half full of Coopers beer I spied? Giving the ol Bush Chooks a break
Yeah just mixing it up, enjoying Coopers craft range. Love that they’re Australian owned and brewed too.
Hi Cam, how did the canopy handle the rough tracks?
Canopy handled it all perfectly!
Outboard slide, draws and 12v setup are bang on too!
It was a great trip to test all the gear.
ThunderFab are going to make some slight design changes on the boat rack setup though before its available to the public.

Yeah that one is specifically for induction cookers.
Would love to know where you bought your frying pan would do me foe a pot as well one less thing to carry
It’s a smart space fry pan. Very impressed with it so far! Got it on eBay
I really think you should be bleeping out the C word when making the fish tacos 🤣
Damn Coriander made its return ha
😂 my bad!

Hey Cam! Is the dmax using a more fuel with the new canopy/boat combo?
I'm sure it is but i don't much in the way of figures yet. For this trip I averaged 17.5/100 total including the highway there/back and all the offroad stuff. The lads in the 200 series averaged around 19/100 for the same trip.

What's the make of the boat loader
Thunder fab made it, same guys who made the canopy and fitout. Custom fab shop in WA.
Great content as always. Did you track how your fuel economy was affected by the rooftop tinny?
I did. For this trip I averaged 17.5/100 total including the highway there/back and all the off-road stuff. The lads in the 200 series averaged around 19/100 for the same trip.
That sand hill gets absolutely munted because people don't put their tyres down and just try sending it 🤦♂️
Shake rattle and scrape getting in....
Yeah, pretty rough going!
not a spanish unfortunately but looks like u had a ball
Another great video mate 👍
Thanks 👍
