30 years that Belgium is THE place to be for party ,techno and house music.Cherry Moon was the best club in the History,best DJs,best music,best people, best XCT,best speed and Acid.
What an amazing set! I immediately think of the incredibly beautiful nights in the early 90s when we went to the Cherrymoon club. Later to Club X, Illusion, La Rocca, Carat and at the end of the 90's and beginning of the 00"s to the legendary Zillion . Today's youth can only dream of such parties where the atmosphere was almost divine. No mobile phones in your hand all evening just to film the crowd, no..... we were just dancing until you almost dropped. I'm now 50, but songs like The first rebirth, Loops and things, the house of house still give me goosebumps. 14:19 without any doubt THE ultimate classic house track and the best intro ever made.
This is why Tomorrowland is in Belgium, because of this legendary music from a special period. In those days many Europeans came to party here because of this special sound. So many famous clubs and afterclubs with virtually no closing hour, so in a way every weekend was Tomorrowland back then ;)

The positivity of these guys is great and all the classics make for an awesome atmosphere in the crowd. Putting these guys on the mainstage was definitely a successful experiment by Tomorrowland. Truly one of the most entertaining sets on the mainstage and the festival as a whole!
This is electronic MUSIC! Retroclassic techno trance at its finest!!! 90's rave parties and the energy, the rhythm, the melodies, the beat, the bass, all this insane amount of feelings this genre transmits is beyond reality! this should be played in prime time so those millenials learn when and how it all started. When dj meant the guy who spins the vinyl to play music and not throwing cakes or doing like joker. When people where dancing to the music and not holding phones like zombies and posting selfies ALL THE FACKING TIME!! THIS WAS RAVE!!!
That's true, I'm usually annoyed by the forest of cellphones that can be seen at every festival but we can admit that on this video we don't see that many cellphones or selfies being taken. Maybe the music is too good compared with the prime time hours 😉 Oh... I'm feeling old saying that (not even 40 yet).

One of the best sets in Tomorrowlnad 2018! Probably the best one in involving the crowd: people really felt the music, enjoying it and dancing, not just jumping like in all the EDM sets..which are more or less always the same!

I'm not a massive fan of MC's talking over the top of tracks but this guy seems to be very respectful to the music and why can't people just leave positive feedback or comments people always feel the need to put someone down. Epic set brings back so many awesome memories 🍒 🌙🤸🤸🤸
the thing is, in the old days these DJ's didn't need an mc to get the party starting. The Good Old DJs from Belgium had it all covered. In those days people would have walked to him and ask him to be quiet. Sorry, we are old school, we want to listen to the DJ, not the MC.
This is probably the first and only answer i'll be giving to a comment cause I've tried to steer away from this as much as possible. I'm the actual guy on the mic there. First off, thanks for trying to be positive and choosing your words kindly. As you can probably tell, I'm not part of the generation that had this in clubs and thus I never experienced those days. When you're on a mainstage of this festival, it's different of course, you have to hype because that's what a mainstage is, you have to bring that energy. I've always tried keeping a balance between the sound, the history and respecting the legacy, giving what the DJ's want and what the crowd wants. I know this is very difficult and hardly possible on this legendary sound. It was a blast and a PURE enjoyment being there. But from the bottom of my heart, thank you for seeing between the lines and being respectful.
Aaahhhh, all my younth... Cherry Moon, Extreme, La Rocca, La Bush, Montini, ect... were the Belgium 's best clubs during the years 1990 and 2000. Thanks for this moment, guys ;)

Yves Deruyter is definitely the best DJ ever ! Reminds me my 20's, going out every week-end and spending the night partying in the best nightclubs in Belgium. Cherry Moon, Extreme, Illusion, La Rocca, Zillion, Montini and so much more... It was a good time...
So sad we can't go back in time !!!! Where's the fun now for the next generations without the clubs... EPIC time !!!! And the 70's-80's children were there :-)

Next year, the should put them at prime time with most young people not knowing who they are and see the mass explode for real. These guys deserve it, because they're part of the reason that Tomorrowland got as big as it is, not because of their DJ sets, but because they co-created and pushed the Belgian house culture, which makes Belgium the best host for this festival.
Those 3 Dj's were the resident DJ's of one of the legendary belgian clubs in the 90's : The Cherrymoon in Lokeren (a few km from Boom). It was the time where it was possible to go in clubs in Belgium non stop from thursday night till tuesday morning (there always was clubs opend, even during the day).
Classic old school and yet one of the best sets. Old school is way more organic. These guys were more like composers compared to today’s djs who make re-mixes of re-mixes of re-mixes.
First Charlotte de Witte and Coone on the Main, now 90s Techno. Such a positive development to give all genres of electronic music a chance to get known by the majority of the "mainstream ravers"

Amazing set. The MC doesn't understand that this music has the power and doesn't need anyone to make the public partying in full 90s mood! This is what I call dance music and it is exactly what I miss in today's releases... Let the 90s come back!
La house d'un autre temps, d'une autre époque, celle ou l'extrême et toutes ces discothèques du genre en Belgique nous faisaient vibrer, on avait notre tomorrowland chaque semaine, à consommer sans modération... Et dire que nos discothèque dispâraissent petit à petit pour laisser place à des lieux fort différents... Et oui le temps passe, un petit gout de nostalgie en repensant à ces folles soirées... nope, this music just belgium. All the others came after; chicago house, germany was techno and rave (marusha etc) and italy.. I guess they just had gigi d'agostino.. ;-) Belgium has the roots of trance-retro.

This is electronic MUSIC! Retroclassic techno trance at its finest!!! 90's rave parties and the energy, the rhythm, the melodies, the beat, the bass, all this insane amount of feelings this genre transmits is beyond reality! this should be played in prime time so those millenials learn when and how it all started. When dj meant the guy who spins the vinyl to play music and not throwing cakes or doing like joker. When people where dancing to the music and not holding phones like zombies and posting selfies ALL THE FACKING TIME!! THIS WAS RAVE!!!
That's true, I'm usually annoyed by the forest of cellphones that can be seen at every festival but we can admit that on this video we don't see that many cellphones or selfies being taken. Maybe the music is too good compared with the prime time hours 😉

So much that the public was mesmerized and fully lived it, felt it, experienced it. So they didn't feel the urge to spoil it with other occupations like using their phones.

I'm not a massive fan of MC's talking over the top of tracks but this guy seems to be very respectful to the music and why can't people just leave positive feedback or comments people always feel the need to put someone down.

the thing is, in the old days these DJ's didn't need an mc to get the party starting. The Good Old DJs from Belgium had it all covered. In those days people would have walked to him and ask him to be quiet. Sorry, we are old school, we want to listen to the DJ, not the MC.

This is probably the first and only answer i'll be giving to a comment cause I've tried to steer away from this as much as possible. I'm the actual guy on the mic there.
First off, thanks for trying to be positive and choosing your words kindly.
As you can probably tell, I'm not part of the generation that had this in clubs and thus I never experienced those days. When you're on a mainstage of this festival, it's different of course, you have to hype because that's what a mainstage is, you have to bring that energy. I've always tried keeping a balance between the sound, the history and respecting the legacy, giving what the DJ's want and what the crowd wants. I know this is very difficult and hardly possible on this legendary sound. It was a blast and a PURE enjoyment being there. But from the bottom of my heart, thank you for seeing between the lines and being respectful.

Aaahhhh, all my younth... Cherry Moon, Extreme, La Rocca, La Bush, Montini, ect... were the Belgium 's best clubs during the years 1990 and 2000.

Yves Deruyter is definitely the best DJ ever ! Reminds me my 20's, going out every week-end and spending the night partying in the best nightclubs in Belgium. Cherry Moon, Extreme, Illusion, La Rocca, Zillion, Montini and so much more... It was a good time...

Next year, the should put them at prime time with most young people not knowing who they are and see the mass explode for real. These guys deserve it, because they're part of the reason that Tomorrowland got as big as it is, not because of their DJ sets, but because they co-created and pushed the Belgian house culture, which makes Belgium the best host for this festival.

they have their own spot, when I found that a few years ago, my younger friends where a bit upset I would not want to leave that area anymore

Those 3 Dj's were the resident DJ's of one of the legendary belgian clubs in the 90's : The Cherrymoon in Lokeren (a few km from Boom). It was the time where it was possible to go in clubs in Belgium non stop from thursday night till tuesday morning (there always was clubs opend, even during the day).

La house d'un autre temps, d'une autre époque, celle ou l'extrême et toutes ces discothèques du genre en Belgique nous faisaient vibrer, on avait notre tomorrowland chaque semaine, à consommer sans modération... nope, this music just belgium. All the others came after; chicago house, germany was techno and rave (marusha etc) and italy.. I guess they just had gigi d'agostino.. ;-) Belgium has the roots of trance-retro.
The Beginnings of House Music. It all started in Chicago's Southside in 1977, when a new kind of club opened. This new Chicago club called The Warehouse gave House music its name. Frankie Knuckles, who opened The Warehouse, mixed old disco classics and new Eurobeat pop.
