Try using 128 speed steps - it's been available for 20+ years and will give much better speed control than you are getting here. Quite often, sound packages works better on 128 than 28. 28 speed steps is equivalent to DC control! Since when does a guards whistle sound randomly and on a loco startup ?
@@PaulsRailwayModels-vz9oz There will always be better performance on 128 steps because the difference between each speed step is much smaller and more granular.
Hi What I can see this was tooled in 2006 so maybe be 2006-2007 release, the model I have, from the date code on the box is 27 June 2011, hope this helps

I did try this and found, no improvement on the running or sound control for this model. This is a chip I will have to have re-blow in the future.

Wow - glad to see Bachmann went classy! I remember the consumer toys from decades ago 🚂🚃🚃🚃😁
I hope they resolve any issues 👍
The problem is its out of warranty now, so it will be up-to me to re-blow, this can be from £12 to £24 depending on the sound files.
