Dragon Ball Sparking Zero's anime expo event revealed Ultra Instinct Sign Goku and Rose Goku Black new gameplay and EVO 2024 improved visuals for the demo. Before release date we may see new gameplay showcase for Dragon Ball GT with Super Saiyan 4, DBS Super Hero With Gohan Beast or Dragon Ball Daima information which releases the same month!
This Number 1 Dragon Ball Tenkaichi series will continue to give us even more games stages, new unique animations, character transformation as well as super and ultimate attacks!
And Dragon Ball Super Manga is on hiatus this month and next month.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Future Saga DLC will still be getting updates alongside Sparking Zero's release so I will continue to cover it on the channel!

It's not a competitive fighting game. Don't expect it to be balanced. If you go into ranked you are going to deal with people using exploits and cheesy strats to win. And even so, it's not going to ruin the game, there is plenty of offline content to keep people happy, we all had BT3 and played it without internet for years, same with this.
To be fair every fighting game has cheese in it. But Agreed. The game will be fine

What differs arena fighters from traditional fighting games is that the latter are basically built to be an esport first, while arena fighters are designed to recreate an anime experience first, and a pvp experience second. Every single arena fighter since Storm 2 has a ranked mode, so this being included in DBSZ shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. This game IS meant to be competitive, just not balanced, as that would ruin the anime experience, so the depth is limited. It will never be an esport but it's still gonna be a competitive anime game with a dedicated playerbase paying attention to the tournaments, meta and stuff like that

The competitive scene for this game is going to be who can revenge counter the most and who can move around the map the most efficient, if you can master those two you will be a top player in this game
It’s possible but also… if you were to revenge counter everything then you aren’t going to be able to use many specials or do anything else. So there is definitely a strategy around not spamming it. I’m fairly certain there is a burn out mode in dbsz aswell so if you were to run out of ki and skill stocks from spamming defensive options then you are going to get “world starred” in burn out. I think that if it was as simple as that then no other defensive tools or movement would really have a place in the game. I’ll admit at high levels of play it’s going to very hard to hit someone. But also if you panic on defence you will get destroyed

Fr the nerds are just gonna drive the majority of the player base away if they make this into a competitive sweat fest when in reality the tenkaichi/raging blast series was NEVER that type of game 🤷♂️ we already have dbfighterz for that

@@damronbrooks6902 its not unlimited. These dodges take up alot of ki. So its not like you just have to do nothing to Dodge the whole fight. I think it is to expensive to even be worth it
Your argument is weird, saying sparking zero isn't a competitive game when its whole concept is being a fighting game. you speaking like ranked mode shouldn't exist, but since it's there, it could maybe pop off. People don't need a ranked mode in a fighting game to make a competitive scene.
Its almost like you forgot they also announced the ability to make online and offline tournaments. That alone means the devs are entertaining the possibility of a competitive scene for the game. Sure, Sparking Zero has plenty of single player options, but the devs know that not everyone is interested in that, and pleasing the people who are into pvp is not too hard. all they need is the ability to spectate matches and a lobby with a room master who can enforce the rules of the match so players can't sneakily change them to benefit themselves.
ranked existing is merely for the flex, people who are high ranked in the game are the people who are good at the game and grind it non-stop. It won't necessarily mean they are the best in the game since most ranked modes will reward those who grind the most in these anime fighters.
A large part of the community will want to fight each other, so whether ranked mode is good or not is irrelevant. what you should be caring about whether the online experience is good to begin with. it all about whether the netcode of the game will allow for fun experiences and not ones that make people go insane whenever lag occurs cause like i said if the ranked mode is shit then people will create their own with online tournaments etc to compensate.

Well, the point of as discussion video is not to take a side but rather to lay out both sides and look at from both angles. I made many points in favour of it being a good esport spectacle and said other games like Warzone fell into being an esport so it’s possible. But I also mentioned that they said the game wasn’t going to be balanced and that we technically didn’t need a ranked mode that would encourage a scene. I’m sorry if you felt I was taking a side but I was simply laying it all out for others to decide how they feel.
If this was a debate or I took a strong stance towards saying it should be one way or the other. I’m not going to give any ground to the opposing view.

The max points per team is 30. Op character take up more points. For example, SSB Gogeta takes 22 points

I think that's the rink to play. It's gonna be team match only. Just for the balancing. They have the game set up by a point system by how strong that character is.They're gonna find some type of way to balance it
one thing abt team comp is that its confirmed if you fuse with 2 characters they actually get buffs then if u just straight up pick the fusion

I hope this game will have a stable playerbase that just wont die off after the first 6 months on PC. look at Dragon Ball FighterZ online is dead in Asia for that game. I hope people will latch onto this cause the amount of replayability is insane for a title in 2024.

@ 2:05 Yeah, I'm patiently awaiting how the Destruction Point Score system works with ranked mode. I'm also wondering how character customization and particularly skill items affect this score. If they allow custom characters in ranked then I think we'll see more variety.
I think this may happen bc the game tracks your character-proficiency (via 5-star ranking). So maybe you gain more Zeni/XP for using weaker characters and are rewarded with the ability to create custom enhancements. (Just spit-balling, but it seems like a solid game logic to encourage replay ability)

Stoked for this game to come out. Glad you're covering it, good mixup from Smash. I know competitive isn't going to be the focus in this game, but will be fun to just have an environment to play against good players. Who knows maybe if popularity swells, they may update the competitive mode to balance out characters more than the regular game and throw canon strength in that mode to the wall.
