Thanks for taking the time to explain why circle hooks work and when to use them. I have watched hundreds of hours of fishing vids and now i finally understand how they work. thanks. Also, fyi just like I commented on the last fishing vid I watched, I never get tired of seeing how the bait was caught even if it is only 30 seconds. keep up the good work.
Hey man! Love your videos a lot man and I love how ur videos are really clear unlike others where you can't even see half of the fight! Keep up the great work man!
In my opinion one of the most important things to do when using live bait or dead bait is to clean the point of the hook off. If you look at the video at 2:20 onwards you will see that there is a big scale stuck at the point of the hook.Otherwise great video man keep it up!
Tom Greaves: You want a clean hook because when you set the hook you don't want anything to interfere. If you don't clean the hook now your point has to go through a fishes scale, which is already quite tough, and then into the fish's mouth. By not doing this you reduce your hookup ratio significantly.
Lawson, down in marathon til saturday, then clearwater the next week. Drifting mullet in the current under 7 mile bridge, buddy caught a solid jack pulled us around pilings and everything it was gnarly.
Awesome video Lawson I really enjoy the live bait videos. I wish you did a live shrimp outgoing tide full moon video for snook by a illuminated bridge or dock. That is my favorite fishing cause you don't always catch huge ones but you pretty much catch snook, lady fish, tarpon during the right time of year on every cast or every other cast
Dude omg this takes me back. I use to go out to Mr Boyds dock every morning before school and throw anything that floats with a hook on it. The snook would gather up and feed on a flat and omg it was fun. Nice video
awesome video as always ! you should do more live bait videos. i love throwing lures but when i want to catch a lot of fish or big fish live bait does it, as you know. love your vids man!
Another awesome video. Yes plz keep teaching it helps alot of us out. And its 1 of the many things that sets u apart from the pack. I fish from land and the beach. What is the best way to fish live bait. I never know if i should keep the bail engaged or actually leave it open and let the bait just swim. I know its a basic question but im frustrated. Thanks
Hi Lawson. I run into your channel a few days ago, and seen almost every video.. I really love this channel, could watch it all day.. Can't wait for the next one..wink. Best regards from Europe.
You're dope man, thanks for all these tips. I enjoy watching you fish. Especially on the bote rover. I'm gonna get one soon I'm in north florida, if ya ever need someone to fish with let a brother know! Tight lines man!
Lawson, Does your location allow you to do any near shore or open channel fishing on a good weather day? I know you are limited by the type of boat you own, but I'd love to see what else your area offers.
Hey Lawson I had no idea you lived near Stuart! I'm from Port Saint Lucie ! I'm currently in the Marine Corps station in NC! Your videos are great man makes me miss home!
hey Lawson you should do a walk through of your Hewes. I've got one of the original Hewes skiffs (1983 bonefisher) and would like to see your set up also! tight lines brother
Im digging the videos! Question for you though. I generally only fly fish but am looking to spin and bait cast from time to time. What sort of connection do you use with your braid to Fluoro leader? The only knots I'm familiar with are Fluoro to Fluoro and Fluoro to mono.
Hey Lawson. I absolutely love your videos and look up to you and admire all your tips. I am mainly a bass angler but love saltwater as well and I'm going on vacation in a about a week and was just wonder what line setup I should use. I'm going to be fishing in the marsh for mainly redfish. Also I'm gonna have another setup for catching flounder by the peer and was wonder what line set up I should use for that. ALSO what line setup should I use for livebait.
I personally enjoy the little learning sessions. really wish more of the bass anglers would do it! Any chance we can get another whopper plopper video? it's just fun to watch!
Nice vid man. Gotta do whats best for you and I get that. Personally I always hook my mullet in the roof of the mouth like you had it before you switched. Solid hookup every time. Dont forget to remove those scales off your hook point :)
Hey Lawson what would you recommend me to do about this... I bought a live target swimming mullet and I can get snook to hit the bait but I can't get them to commit to eating it because they will inhale the bait but spit it out before I can set the hook and I know that's what they are doing because I literally watch them do that 10x in a row
Fishing With Lawson Lindsey thanks man I have a treble hook on the bottom of it now and I always wondered if I wasn't swimming it slow or fast enough because they would thump it when I pause and bounce it in front of their face but don't seem 100% intrigued with me just swimming it across the bottom or when I swim it across the top as a wake bait at the sea wall by my house
Hey bud cool vid but I got a little way to help you with your circule hook set up...I am a charter capt out of NSB FL. and we use circule hooks a lot and I found that I get a much better hook up rate when I use a octopuse circule hook and Snell it that seems to be the ticket down here .....Good vid enjoyed it tight lines
Dude I know as sportsmen we are all about the artificial lures but the difference between this and your other videos is insane. Really make you think we can still improve a lot on our artificial imitations.
I usually freshwater fish, and I want to start saltwater fishing for snook, jack, tarpon I was wondering if you know any good spots fo them close in south florida
Do you not dedicate a good day for Big Tarpon? I'm talking about chumming heavy with dead pogies and big heavy live baits under a balloon? Just wondering I live in South Alabama and that's how we Tarpon fish it can be a lil dull at times but very productive. Anyways not sure if that's your thing but just wondering.
Alex brother I just now read your message, 8 months after you wrote this and I really hope you are ok ?. Life is short my brother live n learn. All the best.
I have never caught a fish on a top water. I fish for redfish and speckled trout often and as much as I throw a top water I have never even got a follow. Any pointers, Lawson?
I've never been stung by a stingray (love fighting giants tho) but I always thought they only left you in extreme pain, if you clean the wound pretty good you'd be fine. No need to go to the hospital. Unless the part of FL you live in has strange mutant killer stingrays....
dude let me tell you something when you have the snook in the water and you have your hand in the water like that one day a big bull shark is going to come and take your hand off
Can't believe u were fishing right in front of my buddy's house when u caught that 28" snook off the sea wall. Gonna have to get down there myself and set up a lounge chair and cooler in the back yard and kill em from the bank!!! Such a small world!😎
Thanks for taking the time to explain why circle hooks work and when to use them. I have watched hundreds of hours of fishing vids and now i finally understand how they work. thanks. @4:20 one of the clearest HD shots i think I've seen of any fish - water droplets dripping off the pelvic fins in the morning sunshine. Big thumbs up.
Been fishing South Florida for 14 years. Great video. You know what's up no doubt. 👍👍
The color difference from back country to surf is big time.
Hey man! Love your videos a lot man and I love how ur videos are really clear unlike others where you can't even see half of the fight! Keep up the great work man!
Always come with a good video Lawson. Love the hard work you put into the videos brother!!!!
In my opinion one of the most important things to do when using live bait or dead bait is to clean the point of the hook off. If you look at the video at 2:20 onwards you will see that there is a big scale stuck at the point of the hook.Otherwise great video man keep it up!
It really matters bro. I just said the same above then saw your comment.
Nathaneil Crossman damn I didn't think that was a big problem. From now on I will do so and see if I notice a difference
Nathaneil Crossman When I saw the scale I cringed so hard
keeps the hook point clear and clean for instant penetration when setting the hook.
Tom Greaves: You want a clean hook because when you set the hook you don't want anything to interfere. If you don't clean the hook now your point has to go through a fishes scale, which is already quite tough, and then into the fish's mouth. So glad to see a live bait video. I would love to see you catch the bait and show where to find it. Keep up the awesome work.

After watching several videos i found a simple and easy way to hook big mullet.
Thanks.
Another awesome video. Yes plz keep teaching it helps alot of us out. And its 1 of the many things that sets u apart from the pack.

Lawson,

Awesome fish, LL! Good explanations on catch care, too. Thanks for posting!

+IGbullshark I use an fg knot for my braid to fluoro connection
great video again 👏🏻👏🏻we are hooked watching your videos ❤️🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣keep up good work
great video. just got back from Florida. if you haven't fished Sanibel it's one of my favorite spots especially for big reds and snook.
Hey Lawson. I absolutely love your videos and look up to you and admire all your tips. I personally enjoy the little learning sessions. really wish more of the bass anglers would do it!
Any chance we can get another whopper plopper video? it's just fun to watch!
+Justin Willis just git a few in the mail
Hello. Could you use the smaller rod you are using at the end of the video for live bait as well?
Nice vid man. Gotta do whats best for you and I get that. Personally I always hook my mullet in the roof of the mouth like you had it before you switched. Solid hookup every time. Dont forget to remove those scales off your hook point :)
Great start on the first cast good stuff keep up the great content
VERY NICE THANK YOU ALL THE WAY FROM NORTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!
Hey Lawson what would you recommend me to do about this... +Blake Canada hmm maybe try slowing the retrieve down a little bit with it. Or you could add a treble hook to the bottom split ring
Finally! My kind of fishing. Wish you showed catching mullet.
Would a red go after this size of mullet or do they only go after finger mullet
Hey bud cool vid but I got a little way to help you with your circule hook set up...I am a charter capt out of NSB FL. and we use circule hooks a lot and I found that I get a much better hook up rate when I use a octopuse circule hook and Snell it that seems to be the ticket down here .....Good vid enjoyed it tight lines

Dude I know as sportsmen we are all about the artificial lures but the difference between this and your other videos is insane. Really make you think we can still improve a lot on our artificial imitations.
+Steven Brewster I agree. There's still a huge gap between artificial and live bait that needs to be bridged
great tips for using circle hooks, thanks man
Fishing amazing.
I usually freshwater fish, and I want to start saltwater fishing for snook, jack, tarpon I was wondering if you know any good spots fo them close in south florida
Thank you. Great work!
I want to see a vid of u going deep sea fishing like if agree
Do you not dedicate a good day for Big Tarpon? I'm talking about chumming heavy with dead pogies and big heavy live baits under a balloon? Just wondering I live in South Alabama and that's how we Tarpon fish it can be a lil dull at times but very productive. Anyways not sure if that's your thing but just wondering.

You should get a tape measure on the boat.. Would be interesting to know how many inches they are. Love your videos.
If you need custom rod holders for the poling platforms
What king of net did you use
finally live bait. I know you don't like using it too often but its a big aspect of saltwater fishing
Thanks for the tips...
I've never been stung by a stingray (love fighting giants tho) but I always thought they only left you in extreme pain, if you clean the wound pretty good you'd be fine. No need to go to the hospital. Unless the part of FL you live in has strange mutant killer stingrays....
Please do more live bait vids 👍🏼
What's the brand of those circle hooks!?
+Pablo E. Serratos gamekatusa
Good point about tail hooking bro, thank you
That moment when you watch fishing channels and their live baits are like the biggest fish you've ever caught.
Got into snook on the Chaz- using ultralight steelhead rod and gulp minnows. Never had a better fight pound for pound. Amen.
dude let me tell you something when you have the snook in the water and you have your hand in the water like that one day a big bull shark is going to come and take your hand off
Not in that kind of spot
Stupid
What size and brand circle hooks were those?
+Michael Cusumano those were 7/0 gamekatsus I believe
The sting ray hooked body, not mouth?
hey lawson, love the videos brotha.
Will dead mullet work also or no
Can't believe u were fishing right in front of my buddy's house when u caught that 28" snook off the sea wall. Gonna have to get down there myself and set up a lounge chair and cooler in the back yard and kill em from the bank!!! Such a small world!😎
how do you find the mullet?
I love your videos, and I want to cook those fish you catch 😂😂😂
Why don't you fish for Tarpon more often? Nothing like hooking into a gaint!
what fishing rod are you using??
What do you use to record your audio?
Great fishing - Thanks for sharing.
What model Costa's are you sporting?
+GAGEICUS roosters
