freefall method is not good for hammer performance to get the good result as the tester could have difficulty to make a right judgement on either pile capacity or integrity..high stress should been taken to account to mobilise the stress wave along the pile..based on my engineering judgement the drop hammer method is recommended..freefall is bad choice
