Many historians and religious scholars attest to the influence of Greek or Platonic philosophy in the development and acceptance of the Trinity doctrine in the fourth century. But what did such philosophy entail, and how did it come to affect the doctrine of the Trinity? Philosophical speculation later led Greek thinkers to refine Plato's concepts into what they referred to as three "substances"… the supreme God or "the One," from which came "mind" or "thought" and a "spirit" or "soul." In their thinking, all were different divine "substances" or aspects of the same God. Another way of expressing this was as "good," the personification of that good, and the agent by which that good is carried out. Again, these were different divine aspects of that same supreme good, distinct and yet unified as one. Such metaphysical thinking was common among the intelligentsia of the Greek world and carried over into the thinking of the Roman world of the New Testament period and succeeding centuries. As the last of the apostles began to die off, some of this metaphysical thinking began to affect and infiltrate the early Church… primarily through those who had already begun to compromise with paganism. Here we see two distinct threads of Christianity split and developed separately… one true to the plain and simple teachings of the Bible and the other increasingly compromised with pagan thought and practices adopted from the Greco-Roman world. Paul warned Christians: “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:8) Many of the church leaders who formulated the doctrine of the Trinity were steeped in Greek and Platonic philosophy, and this influenced their religious views and teaching. The language they used in describing and defining the Trinity is, in fact, taken directly from Platonic and Greek philosophy. ( From article on the "net") Jesus spoke these words: John 7: 14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. 15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? 16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. 17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. 18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. 19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? As you well know, to even question "the Trinity" is like lighting a fuse. Someone's bound to explode with anger and accusations. But . . . being mortal as we are, we don't "get" what it's like to be spirit and are not qualified to explain spiritual things. But we can find plenty of trinity non-evidence in the Bible. ▬ Most New Testament letters have opening statements such as "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." All these opening statements include both God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ but all of them leave out the holy spirit. None of the introductions mention or include or address the holy spirit as a person. I believe this is good evidence the apostles did not believe the holy spirit was a "third person." ▬ John 14:23 sheds more light on the topic. Here Jesus explains that both the Father and He (referring to Jesus himself) would come and dwell in us. They - the two - would make their "abode" in us: "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." (John 14:23) (No mention of the holy spirit as a third person.) ▬ In 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 we find a similar statement: the Father - "the Lord Almighty" - will dwell in us and walk in us: "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:16-18) ▬ God is a spirit (John 4:24) and is holy. When God dwells in us, we have the holy spirit dwelling in us. We are His "temple." ( From article on the "net")

There is only one God the Father. He sits in Heaven. He is Spirit. God the Son, Jesus, is the equal of God the Father, but in the flesh as a mortal. Jesus is not Spirit. He is the mortal equal/omnipresence of God the the Father. When Mary conceived through the Holy Spirit, God the Father did not just give Jesus the breathe of life as He gave Adam. He also filled Jesus with His very own Spirit - the Spirit of the Father. So that Jesus is fully mortal, but fully God as well. God is omnipresent. Since God the Father is Spirit, the Spirit of God's omnipresence outside heaven is what we refer to as the Holy Spirit - the omnipresent Spirit of God outside heaven. Jesus said that neither the Son nor the Holy Spirit know the day of the second coming. Only the Father knows the day of the second coming. From this, we deduce that the greatest of the three is the Father.
Where can this be found in the bible, or where can I see the prophets saying any of this? Isaiah 44:6 Thus said YHWH, the Sovereign of Israel, Their Redeemer, YHWH of Hosts: I am the first and I am the last, And there is no god but Me. In the Jewish bible it says his name, in a Christian bible whenever you see LORD the actual word in the Jewish bible is YHWH. He says I, I, I, not we. God is god and there is no other beside (close to, or next to) him.
None of this can be found in the bible. The Deuteronomy 6:4 reference it actually says Hear, O Israel! YHWH is our God, YHWH alone. It's kind of insane that the Trinity is an invention of the Council of Nicea, why does man need to vote on whether or not Jesus was divine? The Messiah will be a human being, not God, not 1/3rd of the God head. I think something that important wouldn't be so complicated. Seems to me like most people will burn in the pit because they don't understand this made up trinity nonsense.
@@sithxle7546 Jesus isn't divine, and yes it is idolatry. The meaning of John 1 is nonsense. What does that even mean? The word became flesh? I guess that's some Greek thing, seeing how a group of Jewish men wrote their so-called holy books in Greek.
@jamescummings6703 and if jesus was just a normal dude what's the point of all these prophecies about him littered throughout the entire bible? Surely his existence means something right

I find this explanation to still confuse the answer. Uses a lot of words.
If Jesus isn't divine then what's the point of believing in him? Wouldn't that be idolatry? Then what's the meaning of John1
@@sithxle7546 Jesus isn't divine, and yes it is idolatry. The meaning of John 1 is nonsense. What does that even mean? The word became flesh? I guess that's some Greek thing, seeing how a group of Jewish men wrote their so-called holy books in Greek.
@@jamescummings6703 now you're denying scripture and christ🤣🤣? That's not a good look brother cause that makes you an anti christ
@jamescummings6703 and if jesus was just a normal dude what's the point of all these prophecies about him littered throughout the entire bible? Surely his existence means something right
@@jamescummings6703 i hope that you take the time to read and understand the scriptures man
