While I was in Amsterdam I stopped by Sauna NZ (Sauna Nieuwezijds) to do a little... research.
In this video I'll rate the location, the facilities, the staff, the men, look at some pros and cons, and at the end I give my final rating out of 5 eggplants.

As someone who lives in Amsterdam, I can confirm his feedback. This is the only sauna in the city so is always busy as from 17h00, especially during weekend. The facilities are top class there, however you forgot to mention how clean is this place, and that there is everywhere condom's+ Lub, and in every cabine also cleaning Material. The guys is of course matter of taste, but indeed all from all, never boring!!

Hi Partick, this is one sauna I can comment on as been a few times. Agree with your comment re. the staff, very helpful. The guys in the main very friendly. All in all always a great experience 🙂 Definitely 6/5 eggplants lol

I went there 3 days in a row back in June. It's the best gay sauna to me. It's pretty big with many rooms and many people with various ages.

I did not like NZ very much. Only one jacuzzi, a simple sauna and one steam room. For the rest dark, darker, darkest rooms.

The old segregated saunas especially with no one under 18 allowed were GREAT! The one in downtown Seattl used to be a lot of fun. Also one in Cedar Rapids Iowa if you can believe that. The rest of the refurbished ones are not segregated (I guess they want sexual harrassment and battery assault lawsuits) Its one sauna for EVERYONE-----yeck!
Under 18? you can't be under age and go to these places now... was that not always the case?

I think they were Dutch. I just took it as a cool calm efficient way of doing things.
I attend the Nz sauna since the opening in 2013 and I think you are definetly exagerating with the word "big"! Come on, that place is everything but big, i don't know what kind of saunas you are used to, but the "humongous oversized lounge" is actually pretty small, so is the darkroom and the bar is a regular, average size bar, nothing special, in fact when the place is a little bit busy, all cubicles, as the showers, as the steamroom as the bar are just inaccessible and no privacy at all is allowed plus the whole place stays inevitably very dirty and stinky despite of the great efforts made by the cleaners. The jacuzzi is like double the size of a common home jacuzzi....6 people and its full. Last but not least theres a lot of G going on and you're gonna find people passed out here and there. Once, years ago someone died in that sauna because of g. The door guy is very cool, his name is erwin and he is the real good giant. I also agree about the staff, very nice and friendly and yes the dry sauna is pretty big.
You're describing practically every sauna LOL... I think compared to the rest of the place the lounge is a good size. I guess it's all relative

It's a great place, very mixed crowd and really nice atmosphere. I haven't seen anything like it yet.
I live close by. Have been a monk recently but feel suddenly ready for some action, so will be visiting soon 😂
Amazing review of my favourite sauna. You probably went in a weekend night which are busy. Rest of the week has a good crowd too. Always fun whenever I go. Been to many different saunas abroad but NZ is definitely my favourite.

Hi Patrick, I'm in India now (19 Feb 2023). My Indian friends didn't think India had any gay bars or saunas. However, I did a bit of research, and yes, India and Delhi do have gay saunas. I wish you could come to Delhi and give an explore and video your opinions. I went out last night and came back with my experience. I would give the Phillips with Mykonos sauna a 3.5 out of 5.

One thing, Patrick. You said Middle Eastern, they could have been Dutch of Turkish or Moroccan heritage which they are some large minorities in the Netherlands.

Nights are always busier. And weekends of course.
I was stationed in the Netherlands for 3 years in the 80's. The Dutch are very friendly. But they are also brutally honest and direct. That is just how they are. Once you get used to it, you begin to understand and appreciate it.
I love a good steam room and sauna. Of course, I just can't feature you being rejected at all Patrick.
I have been a few times.. twice when they had a smoking area and the next without.. Towel Tuesday was very popular...

For sure... although be ready that men will try to have sex with you there. They will assume if you are there that you are up for sex. Of course you can say no, but if you are putting on an exhibitionist show... expect men to approach you and try to touch you or get involved. If you are ok telling lots of men that you are only there to put on a show, then go for it
